Absolutely terrible experience. My 17-year-old daughter opened a membership at this gym as a minor, and from day one she has been charged twice every billing cycle. She went to the gym multiple times to report the problem and repeatedly asked to cancel her membership, but months went by with no resolution. The situation became so frustrating that I had to go to my bank to stop the charges and deal with the issue myself because the gym failed to take any action. It's unacceptable to ignore a customer's complaints while continuing to withdraw money from their account. Customer service has been completely unhelpful, and we are now forced to escalate this matter. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Make sure you monitor your bank statements carefully if you decide to join. read more

It is probably the best Planet Fitness in the area. A little bit bigger with more equipment than other nearby locations. It is open 24/7 Monday thru Thursday which is good so I can avoid peak workout times. It is adequate if someone mostly does cardio or doesn't want to spend much money on a membership. i do the planet fitness circuit and i love quincy but just so crowded and popular. they have the old machines life fitness and cyber for leg workouts which i prefer over matrix . i do hingham for arms and wish they had a arc trainer but nice clean gym , then there is braintree which was awesome till they did a redo and took out half the equipment so then i will sometimes go to weymouth . Weymouth was my original planet fitness but it has changed . i was friendly with lots of staff that now are gone. now this place has machines that need fixing . staff is ok and it's usually less crowded than all others but that could be the lack of machine repair if quincy was less crowded i'd make it my exclusive club and that would mean a longer driving distance but like the equipment. read more

Why cause as negatively affects customers, who want to enjoy music on their Headphones and secondly, because you're Front Desk staff aren't able to log on tp process a customers request for a tanning bed or a massage chair. I have walked out of this gym more times than I can recall after standing at the front desk waiting for a staff member to emerge from their slumber in the staff break room. Worst gym ever in every way! You've been warn do not go to this gym! It's a scam, they will rob your bank account and make it hard for you to cancel. Also beware for when they ask you to put money down with a credit card or purchase something there with one, they will secretly keep your card info hidden in their systems as a reoccurring payment card so they can rob that too. This Planet Fitness is the "we robbed you blind" zone. I joined this gym right before the shutdown, then the shutdown happened about a month later, they quickly charged me the yearly fee right before they closed. I checked my bank account and noticed they were not charging in the following months before July, so I didn't feel the need to cancel at the moment. They opened again in July apparently, never got notified they were reopening. In November while checking my bank account I realized Planet Fitness had been charging me for months since July. I was furious and so frustrated, I called them for a refund and to cancel my account. They said no to the refund and told me if I want to cancel I'd have to come in or mail them a signature. First of all I wasn't going to the gym for a reason, it's unsafe there during covid, so I'm not going there for a signature, second it's 2020 update you canceling process stop making it hard for people to cancel their membership, especially during Covid. I decided to email corporate which was no help of course, I got some generic email back basically saying contact my independently owned and operated franchise location and they can't do anything about it. I contacted the Planet Fitness again asking them to resolve this issue and they sent me the email to their unnamed regional manager, who falsely claims "An email was sent to all active members when our clubs reopened.", they also attached an invoice to the email which had two more $10 charges that were declined that same day by my bank. For some reason this regional manager tried to charge me even more money as I'm trying to get a refund. Mind you, by this point Planet Fitness had already frozen my no contract account, until they get a cancellation signature. I emailed the regional manager back asking why did they attempt new charges from my bank. They stopped replying. Like WTF! Not suspicious at all... A day later somehow my credit card got charged for $20 from Planet Fitness! I was mind blown, under my PF account this card does not exists, or so I thought. It does not show up at all as a payment method under my PF account and surely not as a the reoccurring payment method that my card company told me PF was under there. So I thought WTF! I thought about it and realized when I joined the PF they had oddly insisted on taking the 1 dollar down payment from my credit card, now it all makes sense it was a trick to secretly take my card info and save it under a hidden system. Now they owe me even more money. I have a no contract account, I was never warned the gym was reopening after Covid shutdown, they charged me during Covid time while it is unsafe to go to their gym, they denied me a refund and they charged me even more and just stopped all communication. What a great business model Planet Fitness has! They've figure it all out! Also this gym is so cheap and greedy, for about 2 years before Covid, I was a member of that gym and I decided to stop going there and canceled my membership after they refused to add A/C and update their equipment (see old photos attached). Summer days there were horrifying to say the least and the equipment and locker rooms were falling apart. Members complained but they didn't care. They only decided to fix things when a new gym (Crunch) opened in the area with much better equipment and facility for the same price. For some reason I joined PF again, I don't know why, especially right before the shutdown smh. Don't make my mistakes, if you ever join (why would you?) keep an eye on your bank account regularly for sneaky PF activity, don't give them your credit card info and make sure to have your bank and credit cards company block them after you cancel. I actually like this PF location, it's pretty spacious and there is a lot of equipment. I never have to wait for machines and the ppl at the front desk are pretty helpful. I just moved to Weymouth so it's super convenient for me to get to. I haven't seen any broken machines since I started going there and they have most of the updated machines that I've seen at other locations that are more up to date. The showers are spacious as well, which I can appreciate because I've been in some pretty tight gym showers, lol. Watch out for hidden fees otherwise. Staff is good. General patrons are very polite, courteous, and kind. It's conservative, so always be polite, follow the rules, be nice, and be courteous or you could get kicked out. That's a good thing. But, Massachusetts bitches mark their territories especially in the handicapped or wide stall of the ladies locker room, which is incredibly vile and disgusting. Ok i wanted to give this place a good review but they have let me down. Staff is nice but what in the hell it takes over a month to fix/replace the AC system. It is not even possible to work out without AC and honestly it is being out for almost a month now. What i have been told is that it will take another few weeks. Why????? The lower level staff is friendly (if ineffective), but the management level folks are nothing better than surly. Rudeness is the standard. You have the audacity to point out that the air conditioning doesn't work? They tell you it is comfortable. Sure. It probably is with all the impromptu fans pointing at the staff. This is my go to work-out place ever since i moved to Weymouth. Decent crowd, convenient location and well maintained. I have the black-card which is 20$ a month and 35$ to join plus no commitment. They require a checking account payment which is odd. I signed up at quincy location and was a frequent there until i moved to weymouth. Regarding the gym itself: I liked the weymouth location better considering that the place is big, got a wide variety of machines plus it is clean and is not super crowded, well exception being mornings and b/w 5-6 but never been into a waiting situation. This place recently went through some renovation, the cardio machines were all replaced and they added a lot of ab and core training equipment. I could see a change in this place after the renovation and crowd did improve. These days it is hard to find a parking spot during peak. Nevertheless can' beat the price. Haven't noticed too many annoying people and the locker room is well maintained. With Black card you also get access to the hydromassage area and sauna. Both of them didn't dis-appoint. read more

3 stars as a gym alone, 4 stars because of the price. This place is very bare-bones for a gym. No classes, no pool, no sauna, locker room only has 3-4 showers. But - it is $15 a month. Yeah. So for $15 a month I will take whatever they give me. Upgrade your membership to $20 a month to get unlimited tanning and unlimited guest passes. The cardio room is basically bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills. There are TV's across the ceiling so you can watch TV and every machine has a little console for you to plug your earbuds into. There are 2 large weight rooms with a very good assortment of different machines. I just don't know how to use them that well. Not that this has anything to do with the gym - but I had my car broken into and my purse stolen in their parking lot. And I was told that this is not the first time this has happened. Someone apparently camps out in their car and waits for people to put their belongings in their trunk or glove compartment and when they go into the gym, BAM! S/he busts in and steals things. Just joined the Weymouth location. While I was being shown around the club, I said that I was interested in the circuit training and the 360 machine. The employee gave me a schedule of times there are trainers available. Now I know my monthly membership is only $10, so I guess you get what you pay for. But the past 2 weeks I've called to make an appointment to "design your own program" or get into the 360 class, and was told that the trainer has left for the day. I work during the day, so I was happy to see the evening classes available, but it's like I was given a bait and switch. I asked the person at the desk why bother with the schedule if no one is available to train. Her response was "yeah, we should probably update that schedule." The club is clean. 3 stars only because they really are a nice sized place with plenty of machines for both aerobics and strength training and I've had no major issues with staff. My main issue with this place that drives me insane on the regular is their complimentary wifi basically doesn't work at all when the gym is busier, and I don't mean packed and full, I mean at maybe 2/3 capacity it goes wonky. It's extremely frustrating to try and focus on your workout while fussing with your phone. I've taken to shortening my workouts and going during off hours to lessen some of the irritation. Sometimes I just give up, which isn't a big deal, but if you're going to offer wifi, at least have enough bandwidth for it to consistently work. However I've never really had to wait during busy times unless it's a specific machine. ie: Stairclimber (2) * As of this past August 2015 they have finally updated! All new Cardio (Treadmill, stairclimber, elliptical,etc) equipment, and other new machines as well. * Both tanning booths and beds are available. I prefer the booths if I use them as they are newer. This location has a a setup that I really dig. All of their fitness machines are in one huge room, but divided. The circuit room is set near the stretching area which is convenient. The cardio machines are all in one area so it's not super cramped when you need a particular machine to do the fitness thing. Parking isn't an issue since there are a lot of spots, but on the busy days according to Google which is a super helpful feature btw, it'll let you know so you can plan accordingly. This gym had a manager call a member whom was trying to cancel her "no commitment" membership a C-you-next-tuesday, which is vocabulary that should never be used in a professional atmosphere. This same manager proceeded to physically scratch and push this member which lead to injury and a $1000 iPhone being thrown to the ground. This again was all due to the member trying to politely cancel her "no commitment" membership. For the Weymouth location. Pros: price is obviously great, very large free weight area and large gym space overall, convenience, never once had a problem with anyone there, everyone is polite and maintain gym etiquette. Cons: definitely full of bros and meatheads (I don't mind, it's a gym). This may be because it used to be Golds Gym. I had an equipment issue and brought it to the staff's attention but was ignored. I've never once heard the Lunk Alarm go off. In fact, I've been to 5 different PF's and never heard it to off. For someone like my dad, this location during prime time hours might be intimidating, so that's where I have the issue with the false advertising. Worst gym I've ever belonged to, but I guess you get what you pay for. To begin with, the parking lot is too small and the other members drive like idiots fighting over spaces. There is overflow parking down the street, but there are no sidewalks and the lighting is poor, so you're taking your life in your hands if you have to park there at night. The cardio equipment is semi-new, but the equipment that was replaced was higher quality. The new elliptical machines have the water-bottle holders located in the back, so you basically have to stop working out in order to reach around for a sip of water. Plus, at any one time there are always 10 or so machines with out of order signs on them. There is a circuit training room, which is a great idea, but other members don't follow the guidelines, so the whole process doesn't work and it's generally just frustrating as you have to wait your turn to do the machines in order because people are skipping out of order and doing multiple sets. Why they don't station one of the many staff members standing around the front desk doing nothing there, I don't understand. Recently, the water fountain in the cardio room was broken--it took them 6 weeks to replace it. Good thing I would remember to bring my water from home. The locker rooms are disgusting and seemingly always undergoing renovation. There is a no cell-phone policy, but it is never enforced. And, of course the staff members are idiots. I was there once and a car was smoldering in the parking lot. When I asked at the front desk if anyone had called the fire department, they said no, they were trying to locate the owner of the car first. So I called the fire department and got my car out of there in case the fire department didn't get there before the smoldering burst into flames (destroying all around it). read more

To be frank you get what you pay for - $20per month black-card membership allows me to use the facilities and bring a guest (my wife) whenever I please. However, Is the place dirty - yes Are there broken machines, no barbell collars - yes Is the staff inattentive - yes Is it full of meatheads, dedbeats, and degenerates - yes You have paid between $10 - $20 for a gym membership what do you expect? I went to the Planet Fitness in Dorchester to sign up a couple months ago, walk around... checked it out but figured I would give the Weymouth location a look too (since both aren't that far from me). I'm glad that I did!! The Weymouth PF is so much bigger than the Dorchester one. The staff was also nicer when I went in an let them know that I was interested in joining. The membership is also cheaper for the same membership at the Weymouth location!! The cardio room has a lot of machines: treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc. and I've never had to wait to get on one. The weight room is pretty big too. Same idea, lots of machines, no wait. I usually go after work, which you would think would be crazy busy but it isn't as bad as you would think. Parking is amazing, there's plenty of it. The locker room area is also very clean, which is something my old gym skeeved me out with not being. So, for $20 a month I can go all that I want, bring a friend, go tanning, go to another PF if I wanted and get half off drinks. Not a bad deal... sure there's no classes, but who cares... I'm also not spending $99 a month just to "be seen" at the gym. read more

Love. Love. Love This Gym. I've been to many a gym in my day and this gym is my favorite!! I would recommend it over a Gold's gym any day. It's got everything you need and the price is right. They have unlimited tanning and guests for black card holders. The staff is pretty friendly except for this old lady that thinks she owns the place. I love they real owner, he's so friendly. I became a member of this gym in December, I took advantage of the $99 dollars for the YEAR membership. This gym is massive. The weight room is huge! I have never had to wait for a machine. The reason for only getting four stars: when I joined the gym...most cardio machines were working....lately there have been at least a dozen out of order signs. They said they were ordering new machines and should be arriving shortly. I will definately renew my membership at the end of the year! Okay...took a star off. They finally got a bunch of new equipment; however, none of the treadmills have fans, they did not have the AC on AND they did not have the over head fans on....in other words, I almost passed out tonight. Also, they had about 20 boxes of pizza for anyone when you walk in.....um...this would be awesome if it wasn't a gym. Now all I am craving is pizza. It is still a really good gym, but they have to figure out the little details that would make it an excellent gym. read more

Used a day pass to check out the gym between 4-6pm on a Saturday. I primarily was going for cardio and due to restrictions it was really hard to get a machine. I had to wait/walk on the treadmill and then jump off and run over to an elliptical. I like the Life Fitness ellipticals they have here, but the cardio area is small to begin with and with the fitness distancing only 3-4 ellipticals are available at a time. They could probably move the machines over a few inches between each other to access more machines in each row. There were a lot of staff here and they seemed to be doing extra cleaning, compared to the other 2 local gyms I visited the previous week. It was a hassle to set up the day pass took like 10 minutes and no one gave me a tour of the club. They have tons of weight machines about 3/4 of the gym is that and 1/4 cardio. I can't speak to spa area. Because I will be utilizing more cardio I will be choosing another gym. read more

I use this gym a great deal, and I don't need ,nor do I want to be pampered. I just want to go in, exercise, have good machines and a clean environment, and then leave. You know when you sign up, that there are no personal trainers provided. You can easily get one there, at the price the trainer charges. I have been to quite a few gyms through the years and I know how to use the various machines, so this is an ideal place for me. Anytime I have had a question, someone will answer graciously. The parking lot is a problem at times when it's crowded. The women's room seemed to be clean when I have been in it. I don't shower there so I cannot say much about that. For the $10/month no frills fee, it has been more than worth it to be a member here! So bring earplugs if you are a fan of TV while you do the bikes or treadmills or whatever, or bring your mp3 player, as I do and go for it! read more
