It's basically a typical Planet Fitness except for the short pony-tailed boy that manages the desk. His main goal seems to be preventing people from feeling comfortable using any BlackCard Benefits. He will tell you everything is full, don't fall for this....MULTIPLE times I've caught him lying. His fellow employees seem annoyed with him as well. If you are a dedicated gym person, Planet Fitness may not be for you. I have been a member of a variety of gyms over the years and this is the first gym where staff is instructed to virtually watch everything you do. If a person is doing a series of sets of, for instance, leg exercises, and you are doing very strenuous lifts with a lot of weight, they will harass you about lowering the weight too quickly and making noise. If one does not wipe the machine you are working out on every single time, you get harassed. Now I understand keeping a gym clean but they are way over the top on this. Again, dedicated workout people who are quickly rotating among two or three similar training machines cannot be harassed by staff just because they did not wipe the machine every time. A couple of instances of this "supervision" and one will begin to feel ill at ease as to what the next transgression will be. Are you grunting, are your clothes up to their standards, are you sweating too much? But let us not be judgmental as their slogan states. I enjoy going to this gym. Everyone has been nice and encouraging. The facility is clean and overall a welcoming gym. I do wish they had a trainer on site again, I do miss having that option because I sometimes need that extra push and plus I'm learning more things to do while at the gym. read more

The judgment thing is way too over the top. I have been working out for over 15 years and at several gyms, however, have never been judged. The gym is clean but the wiping machines every use is strange. They are overstaffed. Employees standing around at the front talking to each other. The tanning beds are outdated and only dry your skin without a tan. read more

Very nice facility. It's a large gym, so even when it's at it's busiest, there is plenty of equipment for you to use. You'll see all kinds of people there from teens through elderly, and from very fit to beginner level. The facility is kept very clean, the staff if friendly and helpful. I have used the massage chair, total body enhancement, and tanning beds. They are all well maintained, relaxing, and clean. This is easily the best gym in Winchester. read more
