I had to fly in from LA to Kentucky and I didn't have time to dye my hair back home. I made an appointment the next day I flew in and it was easy. I got my hair consultation by Bailey and she was amazing! She really helped me figure out my hair color which has been lacking because I have a 22 month old and I don't have time for my hair anymore. Booked an appointment with Ashley Barnes for 1:45 that was scheduled for 45 minutes. Showed up at 1:55 (late policy is 15 minutes) and was told that she had an appointment at 2:15 and wouldn't be able to do my appointment (which doesn't make sense given that my appointment should have been blocked off until 2:30). Lady at the front desk went over to talk to the stylist who I noticed was in the process of cutting one of the other stylists hair... She came back and said that their policy was subjective to the stylists preference... tbh I wish I could give 0 stars to coincide with the number of hairs they cut off my head. P.S. I was late because my 2 week old baby's doctor appointment ran late... so if you are in the same situation, don't try to use that excuse (it didn't work for me ) read more

This is really a two-part review - I've gotten several haircuts by Lauren and they've all been wonderful. My hair always looks so fabulous once she's done with it - my layers are blended well, my bangs are exactly how I like them, and the style lasts several days. I would give my hair experience at Planet five stars. However, I got my nails done a few months ago and I was very disappointed. I got a gel manicure and a basic pedicure. The pedicure was fine, but the manicure really, really was not. My nails were uneven, the gel was lumpy, and the manicure lasted less than a week before entire nails started peeling off. I'll keep coming back for a haircut and style with Lauren, but I'll be staying away from mani/pedis. read more

LOVE this place! Austin is a true artist and created a stunning hair style for me. Watching this sweet, talented guy carefully sculpt my hair felt like watching an artist working on his art piece. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Clean and vibrant vibe with the music videos playing on the TV screens. They also provide spa services and I may book a deep tissue massage next. As far as my hair cuts, Austin is now my go to stylist! read more

Came here for an emergency pixie trim when my regular stylist had to cancel. What a mistake! I asked her to leave some length on the sides so it would be more rounded, and told her my stylist cuts it entirely with thinning shears. I'm two weeks out and the sides don't even measure a quarter inch. They were nearly shaved. There's no texturing on the top at all so it's very heavy and masculine - imagine a Marine high and tight. That is this haircut. Except for the sides of the bangs - the left side is a half an inch and the right is an inch and a half. Oh - and the very back. It's cut so short that it won't lay flat, and it's blunt and heavy without texturing, like the top. I haven't cried over a haircut since high school - until now. Just waiting for it to get long enough to fix. read more

To be sure, the problem today was not with my hair cutter, Haley. She performed perfectly today as she always does. My wife thinks she gives me the best cuts I have had in years. My review today is about the atmosphere and lack of professionalism i witnessed in the salon today apart from Haley. I have been going to salons since I got out of the Air Force in 1978; so I have experience. The music was turned of way to loud and the reason was so that the 4 or 5 staff persons who had nothing to do could have a party. It sounded like a happy hour at a cheap bar. I told the receptionist about it when I left and her response was that they were really busy today. BS, they were busy creating a racket such as you would expect at a frat house. BTW, I am a child of the 60s who loves loud music. I do not want it and a party blasting in my ear during an expensive haircut. I took my daughter here for a last minute simple haircut. I called and was scheduled for an appointment hour later. The stylist was friendly and did a great job. Raise your hand if you are insanely picky about your hair - ‍‍‍! I'm so picky, in fact, that I have rarely gone to the same place twice because I have never been happy with the results. All that changed when I started seeing Angela at Planet Salon. Not only have I gone back multiple times, I trust her enough that I let her talk me into some highlights. I will be going to her at Planet as long as she will have me. She is a pleasure to talk to and really listens to what you want. The salon itself is clean and modern. I like the products they use and offer. I have also gotten my eyebrows waxed at planet and I was very happy with those results as well. read more

Veronica is MY GIRL!!! She is hands down the best colorist I've ever been to -- and I've been to a lot. When I leave town for college, I inevitably end up going to someone new out of convenience and they always ruin my hair.. and I come running back to Veronica. I'm a natural brunette, and I've had her do an ombré (numerous times, my favorite), dye me totally blonde, and color correct other stylists mistakes back to my natural brown color. I am so particular about my hair, and she is the ONLY person I trust to touch it anymore. I've also had Megan tint and style my hair for prom back when I was in high school, and loved it. Do not waste your money on this place. When you book online it gives you a price for the services but once you go in they bring back a sheet of paper to sign with a much higher price. I scheduled a full highlight, cut and style, which when booking it said $157..fine. Get in the chair and we discuss what I want, she walks away and comes back with a price of $211. Plus she wasn't going to do full highlights, just a few extra underneath instead of a full highlights. So now I'm paying more for less services. It wasn't really about the money but it was the Principle..the ole bait and switch. Needless to say I got up and walked out. Prices are already outrageous here in Lexington. Hell I'll drive 20 minutes down the road to give my business to honest establishments. read more

Had daughters make up done for prom. It was horrible. The foundation did not match her skin tone and looked like a dark eyed raccoon with black eye brows. Then they wanted us to wait and hour after make up to do hair. My appointment was supposed to be back to back. I paid for the horrible make up job and left. She came home and washed her face. $65 wasted. But we managed to do her own make up and hair. But was so disappointed this fun time of getting pretty was ruined. read more

Really loved this place. It's a little on the expensive side but they are very upfront about it. I called in last min and they were able to get me in that day. Rachel colored and cut my hair and she perfectly matched what I was looking for. Cancelled massage blaming a glitch in their system. I had booked it on line but called on Tuesday to confirm the appointment. Today I got this voicemail....."you are scheduled to have a massage with us at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning and it looks like you book that appointment online and for some reason um and must be a glitch on our system it there's a scheduling conflict uh that massage therapist doesn't start her day actually until 11 o'clock but we do have some openings tomorrow if you would be willing to change your time we could get you in at 12:45 or we could get you in at 5:15 tomorrow evening um either one of those if they work for you that would be great I do apologize for any inconvenience uh please just give us a call back at 859-519-2100 and we will get this taken care of for you thanks..." Welcoming, soothing atmosphere right when I walked in the door, was immediately greeted, shown to comfy seat and within seconds Austin came out to get me. He took time to look at my Pinterest pics and proceeded to do exactly what I asked...I think this is the first time this has happened for me! I typically get some "version" that the stylist must think I would like better . Austin listened and nailed it. The shampoo experience was out of this world- he has magic fingers! I came in because I had a botched ombré, I'm talking I went out and bought a hat after leaving the salon that I will not mention. I called in and got an appointment the next day with Morgan and she took great time to listen to my concerns over the phone and assured me she could fix it, and she did! Morgan was amazing and so kind and listened to me extremely well and the whole salon was beautiful and felt extremely luxurious. I scheduled a full leg and bikini wax for 9am. When I arrived, I was informed that I would have to wait 30 minutes because a worker left something on overnight and it had to be fixed. Over 30 minutes later, I asked for an update. The receptionist said, "She's getting the room ready for you" as she walked away from me at the front desk 45 minutes after my appointment time. The wax itself was great, but the customer service wasn't. I asked for the price of the bikini wax (about $38) to be compensated for the inconvenience and only being offered a mini plastic bottle of water. The receptionist mumbled something without even apologizing and only took about $10 off the $110 total (before my tip). One phone call could've been made to avoid about an hour of wasted time waiting. read more

Came here on short notice before Christmas due to not being able to get in with my stylist. They are close to my work so I thought it would be convenient. They got me in pretty quickly even without an appointment. They got me with a stylist, she did a good job but I didn't realize til after the transaction occurred they didn't tell me the the level of the stylist that was going to assist me, nor did anyone tell me that getting my hair straightened wasn't a part of the "style" I was paying for. This place is overpriced and overrated! They pose as high end salon but instead you could go to Great Clips and probably get a better hair cut and color. It is disappointing when you leave and you look like you need to have your hair colored. I asked when I was booking the appointment for a good blow-out. I love lots of volume. Instead, my hair looked like a tangled nest with dark roots. I could not even pull my hair up because of the dark roots. Defeats the purpose of getting it colored. I wish they would get these gals some training before they allow them to work on clients and overcharge them for less than average service. Save your money and time.
