They double book their clients , so they can work on two people at the same time. It is horrible, because you wait extra time and you do not receive what you paid for. Gabby gave me the worst customer service experience at this salon than any establishment I have been to. I normally go to my stylist up in Cincinnati, the lady has been working on my hair for years, however she had taken a leave due to a personal misfortune, so I decided to find a place closer to me, and this one had positive reviews. I wanted to go get my hair lightened. The front desk ladies were extremely sweet and assisted me with what I needed, but the stylist, Gabby, was the worst. She had 0 interest in anything I had to say, she had a snobby attitude from the get-go, and she had a complete switch-up when she paused on my hair to turn around a make jokes with her friend. she caused me a lot of physical pain when she was pulling my hair to paint it into the foils, she was tugging extremely hard, almost as if she was angry and taking it out on my scalp. when she got to my front pieces, she placed the foil against my face, and painted the bleach, using my face as a painting board. One wrong move and there is potential bleach in my eyes. And by the way, this entire time we are sitting in silence. I have worked in customer service for years, and currently work at a car dealership, and keeping the energy and the conversation in a paid professional setting is bare minimum, especially if you want to have long-term clients. This is unacceptable. the washing out of the bleach was fine, up until she put the toner in. She said "are you comfortable?" and I said "yes I am fine." and then she said "I will be back in 20 minutes." She left me at the bowl. Never in my life have I gotten toner put into my hair and didn't get to wait in the salon chair. I was fine when she asked me that, but 20 minutes of your head being left in a hard bowl gets extremely uncomfortable. Lastly comes the styling. she puts one product in my hair, and asks me what I want. I asked for her to do a blowout, as that is what I had been quoted for in my original inquiry. She proceeds to pull out a flat brush. I already knew from right there that it would be bad. I do a blowout on my own hair 3 times a week, and I have learned that you cannot do it without a round brush. halfway through I ask if she can just curl it. The result ended up being extremely dry and dead and frizzy, and it doesn't feel like she used heat protectant. I understand that bleaching you hair when it has already been through coloring processes in the past will do that, so I didn't think anything of it at the time, but after arriving home and washing it myself and using my own leave-in products, (redken, and it's a 10) my hair was lovely, smooth, and bouncy (to an extent, since as said, it is still damaged) which tells me that whatever product she used on me was entirely wrong. After this whole fiasco, I get to pay. when I inquired, the website said I would pay $177 total for everything, and I had to pay them $88 for initial deposit. I go up there and Gabby hands them a slip with a list, but I couldn't make out anything on it. They made me pay $153. I paid it and gave no tip. I feel like Gabby put some petty crap on there to boost her income because there is no way that she has regulars. The only good thing that came out of this experience was the color. She did a good job on the highlight placement, the tone was nice, and I like the way it turned out. But this result was not worth my money given everything else that had happened. Gabby, if you read this, you should consider other lines of work. Or, if the issue was the establishment treating you poorly and that had an effect on you over time, then find a different one. But I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment in my life. I would rather have gotten my hair done at a McDonald's. You chose this job, do not take it out on your clients, who are willing to spend over $200 to get their hair done with you. This entire experience was unacceptable, and I hope nobody has to go through the same thing I did. read more

Unfortunately the stylist took advantage of my teenager by asking her if she wanted conditioning treatment.. yes, she did say she has dry hair and she didn't ask the cost of the conditioner as she thought it was part of the service. No color treatment/damage on her hair and she explained she sees a dermatologist for it. Charged her an extra $40 on top of the haircut and blowout. Worst blowout she has ever gotten, as you can see hair isn't smooth or even dried completely. We had to redo at home and smooth it out. $130+(20% tip) later and zero result from said treatment. Manager (Beth) said it's an ala carte salon and she was old enough to walk in for service. We have never had a problem at Mickey's in Chevy Chase. Eyebrow wax is jagged and skin ripped underneath brow. Tates Creek location beware. Poor customer service for sure. read more

So I ended up with Amber for a haircut because she was the first available and I wait until the last second to schedule. I am SO GLAD I got her. I get nervous and self conscious getting my hair done. She made me feel immediately at ease, like we had known each other for years and I had a blast with her. I ended up immediately scheduling a hair color appointment and she did an amazing job fixing the crazy at home job I did on my split dye and it came out sooooo good. Honestly I wasn't super impressed. My hair cut is so basic. I just get a wash and cut. It's not hard to take some length off, thin out, and add dramatic layers. She paid more attention to the back of my head and left me with an awkward face frame. I tried asking her for some curtain bangs and that was a failed attempt to make the front look better. The layers were two sections of my hair so I looked like I had a bob cut with some extra left underneath. She didn't understand how to blend my layers or thin my hair enough so it doesn't look like a triangle on my head. I would spend your money somewhere else. I paid $80 and it was not worth it. I have been going to Posh for over 20 years for multiple services but I will never go again. I put a deposit down for a service but changed my mind after I was very disappointed with my last hair color. When I called to cancel I was told the refund couldn't be given from an online deposit so we came to the agreement that the $63 deposit would stay on my husband's account since he gets his hair cut there. Fast forward to Thursday after his haircut when he was told by the same person I spoke to on the phone that somehow miraculously a refund had been issued after she had sworn to me it couldn't be done. There has been no refund issued to our account. I called the salon and she told me "when I click the screen it doesn't take me anywhere so that means it was refunded". I asked her why she never called me to tell me they were refunding so I could've checked it in my account and she said that was her fault. Indeed it was. She said she would speak to the manager Nicci about it but it's now Saturday and I've never heard a word. This front staff person has caused them to lose a very long term customer and my husband will not be going back either. read more

I have been feeling skeptical about sharing this review but after sharing my experience with some friends I feel the need to let others know. About three weeks ago I called Posh salon and requested an acrylic set and a pedicure. They asked if I had been in before and I told them no and we moved on and hung up. I was also interested in getting my hair done here but now am so skeptical of that as well. Last week I I go into the salon and when I am brought back I was greeted by a women who was coming off frustrated and stressed. I tried to sympathize with her in the beginning but the entire session consisted of her being snappy, rude and honestly just uncomfortable to be around. She had painted me in the direction of the nail polishes "Your colors are over there." She pointed and said sharply. Standing with her arms crossed looking impatient with me. I try to find what I need and tell her I'm looking for white to match the pattern i want for my nails. She gets more irritated and proceeds to tell me she cannot and will not do any design on my nails because I have to let them know that ahead-of time. (which I had not been told this when making the appointment theee weeks ago ) (Also I was getting married in two days). So obviously I begin to panic, she hands me some colors and leaves the room with my feet in cold water. Comes back and says " DID YOU FGURE IT OUT?" She snaps at me At that point I'm so upset I tell her to just do the pedicure and I won't do the set of acrylics because it didn't make sense to me to pay for something if she wouldn't do what I needed done for my wedding. She snaps and asks "DO YOU WANT GEL OR NOT?!" " as she rolls her eyes at me, I ask her what kind of pedicure I can have and she gets more angry as she tells me i ALSO need to make sure I tell them on the phone if I want a better pedicure because they have to fit you with someone who will do it and made it clear she absolutely want going to do any service other than a basic pedicure. Which is fine if that is the policy but no one told me that? She proceeds on with the pedicure saying nothing, shaking her head back and forth and just making it very uncomfortable. I was truly floored by the service. She had the audacity to look me in the face and ask "do you want your nails trimmed?" During a pedicure...... what? She continued to poke at my feet, brush them off a bit. Hurt me while sanding then she then PAINTED my nails to immediately put my feet into water and SOAK THEM. I'm am sorry but I have had a lot of pedicures in my life all over the country and I have absolutely never seen anyone do this in my life and I just don't understand it. She did not speak the rest of time and when I say I am not a confrontational person I truly felt the need to speak with the manager. As shy as I am, I have never felt the need to confront staff for service before. I honestly considered not paying because of how upsetting the situation was. It was not till the last three minutes that the women spoke to me and offered a card to someone she knew. Which I was like okay. So I paid. But I did not tip. Which is UNLIKE me as a customer. I did speak with the manager and while she was nice to me she offered no compensation other than telling me to go to a walk in salon somewhere else. And that they have had new staff changes causing communication issues. I waited three weeks for this appointment and then paid for a half ass pedicure that my husband could do a better job of. IT WAS $80. For RUDE and SLOPPY service. I really am so upset because I am not from this area and everyone here had recommended this salon for great service . I am sorry but that's the worst service I've ever had. I know everyone has a bad day, but some situations just are not acceptable. I wish I would not have paid in the end. I understand if you have new staff, I understand if your policies work a certain way but there needs to be communication amongst customers and staff. I am so disappointed and do not recommend this salon. read more

Had the worst experience there today with the worst customer service was treated so poorly I canceled all of my future appointments and can't ever imagine wanting to go back here. Was told by somebody claiming to be a manager that I was able to return some products that a pushy hairdresser convinced my daughter to buy bringing her total for a haircut to $175. When I called the salon to explain the situation and what happened I was told by someone who claimed to be a manager that I can return the products when I got there 15 minutes after our phone conversation they said that that wasn't possible and that nobody told me that. Well who did I speak on the phone to for 20 minutes must have been a ghost. Bottom line is she took advantage of a young client and that's just bad business read more

This salon offers a very wide range of services, from hair to makeup, to nails to waxing. They literally do it all! I've only gone here for the Brazillian waxes. I've tried two different waxers and they've both been amazing!! My first waxer was very educational and had a relaxing setting. I went to her several times but she ended up switching salons. So, my new waxer has been just as awesome. Also super informed and experienced. The atmosphere each of them provide is just so relaxing and pleasant. I will say that the atmosphere in the salon though is not so friendly. The front desk workers and staff are not friendly or welcoming at all, even the manager. Also, the back areas where the waxing rooms, bathrooms, etc. are located don't seem to be the cleanest. Like...they aren't dirty at all but I also wouldn't call them spotless. Also, if you book online you must pay a deposit but if you call and book over the phone or in person you don't have to pay a deposit. This became an issue for me at the salon. I have been seeing Amber for the month of March. In less than a month she has truly transformed my hair. I came in for gray blending bit before we could start she had to color correct the 7 shades I had on my head. She has been literally a life saver. I have difficult hair and my last stylist quit responding to me because my hair wasn't accepting chemicals normally. When I say my hair was a hot mess, I mean a hot fucking mess! Went in for a haircut ... the stylist was 1/2 hour late, although the salon was practically empty. While I was waiting, there was a gaggle of 20-somethings gathered at the front desk doing a whole lot of nothing. No one asked if I wanted some water, or apologized for the delay - just oblivious to the situation. Finally met the stylist- who had the personality of a paper towel - and explained to her what I wanted - and didn't want. She spent all of 60 seconds washing my hair and maybe 10 minutes cutting it. Never even touched my bangs, nor did she ask if I even wanted them trimmed. My hair looked NOTHING like I had asked for! Never, ever again! So frustrating!! read more

I received a SNS set and a spa pedicure. The "spa" part of the pedicure was wonderful. However my nails started peeling at the edges that evening. Two of my nails (added length) fell off and I was simply washing my hair. My set lasted about three hours. Also I was not given time for my toes to dry, so they were smudged by the time I go to my car. I've emailed the salon twice about this experience and never heard back, so I guess they don't care. read more

I've been to Posh twice now, once a couple of years ago for cut and color (when ombré was the thing ), and this past time just for a style and cut. Both times were good- color had some unexpected bumps in the road with the stylist, but she is no longer there- but the style and cut this past week was awesome! Casey is great, and gave me exactly what I was wanting! Make sure to tip well, as these stylists are doing everything they can and making themselves uncomfortable all day (mask wearing, social distancing measures are in place well there!) so they can provide a service to customers! I had made an appointment with a senior stylist that I had visited multiple times, this particular senior stylist has an assistant who had recently graduated from hair school. Under usual circumstances I would be completely comfortable with this. However on this occasion the senior stylist had three total clients booked at the same time as my service. This resulted in the assistant completing the vast majority of my service. I came in asking for a very slight balayage where the assistant proceeded to poorly highlight my entire head. At the end of the service I was extremely upset with my results. However I paid and left the salon not wanting to hurt the assistants feelings. I contacted my usual stylist and explained to her how upset I was with how my hair turned out. She apologized, offered me a partial refund and directed me to speak with the owner. The way the owner and manager handled my complaint was extremely unprofessional & because of their lack of understanding & immature business practices I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. The owner explained to me that at Posh Salon you are paying the high price for the brain of the senior stylist regardless of who does your service. This is not what I had previously been told or experienced in my past visits. As a customer I was looking for an apology, understanding & to be charged only for what I had received (The assistants rate). Instead I was met with hostility and possibly the worst customer service I have ever encountered. In short, if you want to pay 3x the rate for your hair to be poorly done and by someone other than who your appointment is with I would highly recommend Posh. read more

These are my people. I've been going to Posh since my early college days. My hair dresser recently departed but I go here with ALL of my services. I recommend everyone I know to go here, go ahead, ask them!! WAX: I've been seeing Sabrina for waxing for almost 6 years; when she's not there, I wait. Why? Because she's an amazing human being that always makes me feel comfortable and does a wonderful job. Six years and endless waxing strips and the woman never disappointed me. She would work with me on special occasions, work me in when I really needed her, and always made for great conversation. She's the boss, THE BOSS. MASSAGE: I've been seeing Megan for what feels like forever because she is the sweetest and kindest person I've probably ever met. She is always friendly, makes sure you are always comfortable and really listens to what my concerns are. If I need her to really work out the tension I hold in my shoulders, she gets down to business. She suggests things for me to do to reduce some tensions, stretches to try when really tight. She has a very relaxing and calming voice and will chat with me or let me get lost in the hour massage. I am extremely accident prone and always have injuries and she would always work around or through those issues with me. STAFF: Natalie is the bomb and is always so friendly and makes you feel like you're a member of the Posh family. I love these people and think everyone should try out these ladies! read more

Worst haircut I have received. Crooked hair, did not receive the full service (styled hair) and not the "high-end spa" they market themselves to be. I called back a week later when I was curling my hair and noticed that my hair was very crooked and was told I would receive a call back. A week later I called and was told the same thing. I have called 5 times since the haircut and have received one call back with a voicemail asking me to call. I have not received an apology, any money back, any service in return, nothing. I am disappointed with the 2 HOUR haircut (my hair is straight and not very complicated to cut), the lack of customer service, the lack of experienced stylists and unprofessional ownership. read more
