This was quite literally THE ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have EVER had in a salon. In looking for a stylist I saw an ad on groupon for Indigo Salon. I called before purchasing the Groupon for Indigo and one of the owners answered. I asked her which stylists the groupon was for, and what their level of experience was. I was assured all they employed were "master" stylists. I said I would purchase the groupon and asked to be booked with someone adept at the ashy blonde look and the balayage technique. When I arrived I asked for (and presented a specific picture of) a simple currently popular look (ashy brown rooty look with balayage light blonde ends). Not only did they not come even remotely close to the look (And, mind you- I presented to the salon with already dirty blonde/light brown roots that just needed the brass taken out of, and my ends lightened up. I specifically said that I did not want the warm/gold/brassy colors. That's all. I wasn't exactly asking for magic to take place here.) However, I was instead left with purple and red hued hair. My roots were left brassier and redder than before, with barely discernible highlights...that were purple. I respectfully and politely had to say three times that my color was worse. Not better. They tried to fix the color errors by applying a purple conditioner....which is something I already use at home for my blonde. Literally they were attempting to temporarily mask the issue and just get me out the door. When again I had to say it was not right, another more experienced stylist took over. I have NO CLUE what else they put on my hair in the shampoo bowl but it complexly ruined the health of my hair. Instantly. I could tell in the salon whatever they did had damaged it. I'm also not certain whether during the pre-color dry cut/very light dusting of split ends someone added additional short layers on their own accord (that do not blend in, it's like a compete step off) or if it's just where my hair continues to break off ever since going there. I've been getting my hair highlighted since I was 16. That's 15 years of bleaching and and heat styling yet I've NEVER had the damage inflicted upon my hair that this place did. And I hadn't had my hair done since November! Not to mention they still charged me for an "olaplex" treatment (intended to repair the bonds in your hair/make getting blonde hair less damaging) that I'm quite certain never took place. Considering mine is now worse...? They "blew out" my hair into the frizziest gross mess I've ever seen, then realized it looked damaged/terrible and offered to throw some curls in it. No, thanks. Shouldn't I leave the salon looking BETTER than before? Why would I pay to look worse? Want to know the icing on the cake?! The OWNERS of the salon were there the entire time, were fully aware of my dissatisfaction and in fact one was the experienced stylist that stepped in and actually personally played a hand in the "fixing"/damaging of my hair. I expressed my overall dissatisfaction after her "blow out" and was completely blown off by her, told to go home and wash my hair....sent up to the counter to go PAY! Said she would help me out by knocking off the additional cost of the balayage technique. That's it. Again, throughout this entire debacle I was calm, polite, but honest with them. Didn't get me anywhere. I went to the check out on the verge of tears. Running the counter was the other owner. I asked what to do if not satisfied...she calls over the other owner and their answer was to still charge me, charge me for the olaplex treatment and be completely unapologetic and tell me "sometimes you don't get exactly what's in the picture". I'm a realist. I know I'm not going to match the picture exactly. But I should have been somewhat close. I left the original stylist a tip for her time (she was very sweet, just seemed very inexperienced). Total cost for my hair to be ruined was greater than $100. They have never followed up with me, never apologized, never offered to fix it. I've since had to pay an additional $200 at another salon for color correction and a deep conditioning treatment....which my hair barely responded to because it is so damaged. I'm talking I may seriously have to consider cutting off about 4-6 inches of hair I have been trying so hard to grow out for the past 5 years. Gee. Thanks, Indigo Salon! You literally could not have made this experience worse. Oh. I should also mention they also still attempted to sell me some of their $30/bottle hair products before I left. Unbelievable!! Grouponers/yelpers/lexingtonians:...BEWARE! I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Support businesses that actually understand they are in a customer service industry! I have been seeing Devan as an esthetician for nearly 3 years. I began seeing her at a different salon, and followed her to Indigo, which she started with her mother, Shawna. The moment you enter Indigo, you feel a sense of balance and calm.. Their decor is adorable. That feeling continues as you interact with Devan or Shawna. They are the sweetest. Devan makes you feel instantly comfortable--even with the MOST uncomfortable *Brazilian*. I have received the best service here, from the waxing, facials, massages, and makeup application, these women have yet to disappoint. read more

I've always been a great clips kind of guy because of how cheap and quick it was. But a friend of mine recommended this salon to me a few months ago and I've been in love ever since. The salon is located at the top of a restored historic building, which also includes an elevator service for those who can not deal with the flight of stairs. The salon is very well kept and has a friendly staff who always offer free refreshments when I walk in for my appointment. My stylist is all ways Kristin and she always does a great job. She knows how I like my hair cut and now it's gotten to the point where I can just walk in and get exactly what I want without having to explain it. The salon also always has fun little events going on so I'd recommend following their social media to keep up to date on them and keep and eye out on groupon for great deals as well! read more

The first time I went to Indigo was right after a pretty intense surgery. I needed to get out of the house and I thought a non-toxic pedicure sounded great. Heather and Mandy were so nice and welcoming, even when I looked like I had been beaten up from surgery. The pedicure was relaxing and my polish was fantastic! I then decided to try their salon services, so I had appointments with another stylist before I found the most magical stylist of all. Corie is my girl. I have so much hair, to the point that past stylists have complained that it's tiring for them and/or they're just rude about it. Not at Indigo though. Corie is such a wizard with my hair and I leave feeling my best self every time. Cut, color, wash, style. All of it. Love every bit. I've had a variety of services at Indigo and I recommend their full service menu with all the enthusiasm. read more

I was in town for a wedding and this is where the bridal party had their hair and make up done here. I also tagged along with the bridal party and my aunt, while she had her make up done. The stylist did a fabulous job with her make up and she looked lovely. I decided to make an appt later in the day for the same service. When I arrived I didn't have the same make up artist as my aunt. I was a little nervous not seeing her work, but my make up and eyes looked great. She also did a fantastic job applying strip lashes. Unfortunately, I did not catch the make up artists name, but I would definitely return if I'm ever in town again. read more

Very excited to get my hair done here the atmosphere was great everyone was nice but they told me before I made the appt that it would be a 1 1/2 to 2 hours max and it ended up being over 3 and half hours and I'm not very impressed with my hair and I got a parking ticket. A couple of days later looking at my credit card statement they had overcharged me for my hair. I'm sure it was an accident but they should absolutely saw that fixed it but they didn't. This salon is amazing! I travel to Lexington for work and with the holidays had gotten behind on my hair and nails. I messaged the salon on Facebook before 8am and got an almost immediate reply with an available appointment time for the same day. I loved my mani/pedi and the girls at the salon so much I booked a hair appointment for the very next day, the Saturday before NYE. I'm a little sad I don't live closer! They treated me so well especially considering the same day appointment from a new customer. Wonderful and accommodating service from everyone at the salon! They use great products and are very knowledgeable. It's great to see a team of women lifting one another up and being so supportive throughout their work day. A great added bonus is the amazing building that houses the salon with a history of everything from a hospital to a peanut roaster conveniently located in downtown Lexington with plenty of available off street parking. read more

I love the atmosphere of this spa, it has soul. The facials are amazing, like one of the best I've ever gotten in all my travels. The massages are divine, again the best I've ever had done. The pedicures are very soothing and rustic (copper bowls). I love this technique because it's very clean and hot! I've gotten my hair colored and cut a few times and each time someone different because of turn over. No complaints except one time I got a balayage treatment the stylist (no longer there) did not do balayage but highlights with foil and I was charged for balayage. Pricing on the hair services are a little pricey from what I'm used to (I paid $220 (without tip) for cut/highlights) which is fine because I love the brand of the products used (Davines) and I loved what it looked like afterwards. The pricing on the spa services can't be beat for what you receive. They have some of the best selection of hair products and skincare that is all amazing. I'd highly recommend if prices are not an issue! read more

I can't say enough good things about this salon. I go to Aimee for my hair color and cut and then Devan for waxing and facials. The atmosphere is relaxing, eclectic, and everyone there is very welcoming. It's got the vibe of a cool downtown salon but its location makes for easy parking and no need to fight downtown traffic. You will love the service and the products. I'm in LOVE with the Skin Regimen Booster Serum. It's quickly turning into my thing to have on a deserted island item...lol. Devan does my facials each month and I can honestly say that my skin has never looked better! Corey has won me over on the lash extensions which I am now quite the lash addict. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the salon, and the decor was very cute and modern. All the employees, especially the receptionist, were very nice and inviting. However, getting your nails done by this place is a horrible idea. First off, the cost was more expensive than I have ever paid, but I was okay with it once I saw the decor... I assumed I would be getting a higher end gel manicure. That was not the case at all. There are very limited colors to chose from, so I opted for the basic french manicure. The technician was sloppy, slow, didn't get the edges of my nails, wasn't detailed oriented and the nail polish they use cracks and begins to peel the next day. I was going to a party that night, and I was pretty embarrassed for my nails. The process and steps of the manicure were short and sub-par, and she didn't even massage the lotion on my hands... I did. With the being said, I had also scheduled the technician to do my hair, but I was pretty apprehensive after the way my nails turned out. However, my hair turned out amazing! She was a wonderful stylist, and she made the image I had come to life. Super impressed. Obviously this stylist should seriously stick to what her forte is - hair. Please do not waste your money on getting your nails done here. Even though I liked my hair, I will not be returning. read more
