After relocating back to Rockland County, my friend and I decided - regretfully - to give Planet Wings on Route 9W in West Haverstraw a try. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear this was a mistake. The place was dimly lit and eerily empty, more reminiscent of a neglected basement then a restaurant. That should've been our first warning. The two staff members behind the counter seemed visibly inconvenienced by our presence. Neither wore hair coverings - and there were curls!!! And the atmosphere was unwelcoming. We placed our order and chose to take it home, hoping the food might redeem the experience. It didn't. What awaited us in the takeout containers was nothing short of insulting. The wings were laughably small - barely larger then a small pinky finger - with no meat to speak of. The skin was shriveled and brittle, as if overcooked in an air fryer and drowned in thin, flavorless sauce. I genuinely couldn't believe I had just paid for this. I sent a photo to my friend with the message, "How are your wings?" His response mirrored mine exactly. Had we not been home I would've returned the food out of sheer principle. We won't be going back. Not now, now ever. Rockland County deserves better, and strongly urge others to look elsewhere. read more

Best burger I ever tasted in my life. About two weeks ago i went to visit a friend up in Haverstraw NY thats about an hour drive from me since im coming from Manhattan NY, And boy let me tell you this was the best BURGER i ever tasted. This is about my 3rd time coming to this town, and i always end up eating Mc Donald's. Something fast and easy. But this time i wanted more, I asked my buddy what else is fast food but different, He recommended Planet Wings, We came here and i ordered a BBQ BACON BURGER !!! Best burger i ever had. The place looked very clean inside very spacious for sitting and has a great parking space area. I did not take a picture of the burger i was so hungry i literally demolished it. I placed an order for delivery, 3 combos. it took more than an hour and was eventually delivered by a neighbor's son from down the street because the delivery person left it on their porch. When I finally received my order which could easily have gone to the squirrels by then, the fries were soggy, my wings were cold and I was missing a drink. The other 2 drinks I threw away because of how the cups and lids looked. I didn't trust it. I ordered a bottled water in addition that I never received. I will never order here again. First time trying this place with my husband. We were impressed by the modern and clean looking interior when we first walked in. They had a decent sized menu. We ended up ordering a wild buffalo grilled chicken salad and 5 pieces of wings in medium sauce. The cashier was very friendly and helpful and I was happy that I could check in to unlock 15% off my order. The food was just okay. It took around 15 minutes or so to make it. My salad came with flavorful and well seasoned grilled chicken mixed with lettuce, tomatoes and blue cheese. We both liked it. His wings were lacking though... the chicken wings were small, dry, and not too tasty. Wingstreet across the street has the best wings in Haverstraw! This little spot is perfect to get your wing fix, when you don't feel like driving all the way to the Palisades for BWW. My husband loves getting takeout from here. The wings are good and they have a nice sauce selection. I've tried their Oriental Sesame, Hot Gourmet Garlic and Montero Ranch flavors. My favorite would have to be the Hot Gourmet Garlic, followed by the Oriental Sesame and the Montero Ranch last. They also have burgers, sandwiches and Mexican options. Customer Service: The customer service is pretty much non-existent. They'll do what you ask, but don't expect them to sound pleasant, or like you ordering makes a difference to them. Example last night 2/15/20 I tried calling in an order for pickup. Nobody answered the phone and it is not the first time this has happened to me. Where is the ZERO? How about the NEGATIVE (minus 1)? The delivery was on time and all down hill from there. A complete nightmare! I ordered 20 each of 3 flavors of wings. Transitional Hot, Lemon Pepper, and Butter Garlic for yesterday's World Series Game One. Only the later was in the least bit eatable -- and that's because they were essentially dry fried wings with the greasy, oily sauce sitting on the bottom of the clam-shell container. The other 2 orders were under-cooked with the most revolting PASTE rather than sauce. Now I don't like "wet" wings. I prefer when the hot butter sauce is absorbed by the wings, but heck at least it usually dries out or you can do the napkin trick. You'd needed a chisel to get this crud off these wings!!! I don't want to be one of those reviewers who assign one star, because they didn't like the color of the parking lot lines, but reading some other reviews it appears that this rovolting wing "paste" is a normal occurrence. Meanwhile, I thought that they messed up my order because it was impossible to tell the difference between the Lemon Pepper and the "traditional". Who defines a Lemon Pepper wing as a regular hot sauce (or in this case semi-dry plaster of Paris) with a little Lemon-Pepper seasoning sprinkled on? When I called the store, the girl tells me that "everyone makes that mistake". If that's the case I guess "everyone" is wrong and this Planet wings has their own unique version of Lemon Pepper. I've been to Planet Wings many times. I've had them delivered to the house for poker. I've recommended them to friends and co-workers. Too bad they have ruined their good name from one horrible experience. Honestly I've ordered from this place a dozen times. They ALWAYS forget something. I get if it happened once in a while. I really get it. But how do you forget STRAWS EVERY SINGLE TIME I ORDER!!! It's just straw I know but when it happens everytime it's annoying. Not to mention I wrote it on the notes and special instructions on the app. AND IT WAS ON THE RECEIPT!!! It pains me to write this review because wings are my favorite food and I feel that that they should always be done right. Overall this was just a pretty bad experience. It was almost 12 dollars for 15 extremely small, overcooked wings with globs of sauce on them. It tasted like the wings were reheated from a batch that didn't sell from the night before. There was so much sauce on them that I had to scrape it off with a knife. I felt sick after eating there. They also didnt have celery the day that I went in. I love planet wings and order from here all the time since I live close by!! I recently fell in love with the cheese steak!! If you have tried it, i highly recommend so!! However, this past order was made horribly and is unacceptable. A quarter of the sand which was missing steak!!! And I noticed that if you ask for less onions you get SO MUCH MORE STEAK!! This time I forgot to say less onions and it was like a 50/50 ratio of onions and steak! I will come back though because one mess up is not the end of the world. Planet wings used to have really good meaty wings but lately the wings are really tiny with very little meat and very expensive. You can go to a local pizza shop and get far better wings.
