I accidentally scheduled my blood test here instead of the planned parenthood in modesto, but I decided to go here anyway. The ladies were nice, but incredibly unorganized. I couldn't tell if they were understaffed, slow, or just didn't know what they were doing. When they went to draw blood, it seemed like they were having difficulties. i'm normally a hard poke, but they ended up sticking me four times before they could collect a decent amount of blood. And before that, they had tried squeezing blood out of where they poked me and scraping it into the vial. It was not a good experience. And it only got worse, because somehow my blood sample was lost or misplaced and I had to go back in to give another sample. The second time they also had difficulty sticking me, but they were able to get the sample. What drove me to make this review was that I got my test results back, and they were wrong. They had used the wrong reference levels to compare my results to, and now the result shows that one of my hormones is too high, despite it being low for the correct range. When I go for testing, I expect professionalism and accuracy, neither of which I got. So I will not be going back to merced planned parenthood again. read more

I waited over two hours for my appointment while every other person in the building that arrived after me was taken immediately. They told me over numerous times that I was next and they were simply waiting for a room for me. All I needed was my birth control removed and I arrived early to my appointment just to make sure it happened. I was deeply disappointed in the lack of professionalism as one of the workers had forgotten I was even there still. Do not enter this establishment if you are wanting to be taken cared of. I had no idea what my experience would be like even once they called me back. I could tell it wasn't going to be good. read more

I visited for std testing. Going into the facility I was nervous and the women at the front desks were pretty cold and collected, just processing the information and not personable (at least not with me). I sat down to fill out my paperwork and felt the layout of the room was similar to the DMV. I felt like I was in for the long haul. A 2-hour wait for an appointment I had made in advance!! Thankfully I had taken the day off of work and had no time constraints. They finally showed me to a room. The doctor took the test and then stuck around for questions. One of my main questions, unrelated to the exam, was can I get pregnant? She was really surprised by that and asked if I get my period every month, I said yes and she replied, "then you can get pregnant" - MYTH! I then asked her why a friend of mine who has been trying to get pregnant and has her period every month, can't get pregnant? She said, "that's when you start to determine if you can get pregnant is when you're trying to..."- MYTH! I looked it up online after leaving the facility and found a company Modern Fertility, they debunk fertility myths and they have you take your own at-home exam then send it into a lab. They tell you hormone levels and where you're at! I didn't need to "try" for pregnancy to figure it out. And now I feel empowered knowing where I'm at with fertility. This doctor completely turned me off and wasn't supportive especially in an environment like PP when what women need at that moment is SUPPORT! At this point I'm trying to establish my own OBGYN and would rather go to PP Fresno. read more

If nobody's allowed to be there with you for moral support, post it somewhere outside instead of being rude and speaking to where everyone in the building can hear. It's embarrassing and disrespectful. Those women need some training. But then again it's Merced you can't expect class. read more

I didn't expect five star treatment from this business considering that it's Planned Parenthood. I appreciated being taken care of. I was treated with respect and was well informed of different birth control options for iud. They brought things to my attention that the other clinic didn't. My experience here was beyond what I expected. They were friendly and thorough. read more

I had a female emergency, and my doctor could not get me in, so reluctantly, I came here. They were very nice, got me in right away, did all the testing, etc., and ultimately, my fix is surgery as soon as possible. I was assured when I found a surgeon, they would send them my tests results and any other records needed. I went to the surgeon and he scheduled my surgery, but needed the results from here. They are in Turlock. This clinic refused to give my medical records to them, and said I needed to go sign a release. I drove to Merced, signed a release, then asked them to fax my records (only 1 time I've been seen) to the surgeon in Turlock. They refused, and sent me to staples claiming it would cost maybe .20cents to fax. It ended up costing me nearly $10, which isn't even the issue. My issue, was the fact they flat out refused to send my medical records to the surgeon. I don't even think this is legal! I've never heard of such a thing! I highly recommend that you get your records ahead of time as to not delay any care needed. Furthermore, they only gave me the results for one specific test done. Apparently you need to know exactly what is done and what you're requesting, or you won't get it. This was my only time coming here, and unfortunately it will be my last time. They made things beyond difficult to get the care I needed and have delayed my treatment by their inability to share my records as I requested and even drove there and signed their release as requested. They wouldn't even accept a signed release from the surgeons office. Disappointing read more

I used to go here when I was a University Student at UCM. I went there for 4 years and never had an issue. On my very last visit I went in and the RN asked the usual question, how long have you been on birth control I told her how young I was when I started and she made this upset face. When I told her it was because I didn't like having irregular periods she made a sigh of relief and said, "oh good for one second I thought you were having sex so young but good thing you're not like that because those kind of people don't go too far". You're a nurse lady!! People go to you and assume you will not judge them when in reality you are judging the women you attend. What business does she have saying things like that. Anyway I don't know if that RN is still there but be careful. Not judgment free as they say. read more

I don't think it matters if you make an appt or not because you'll have to wait about an hour or two just to be seen. Everytime I come in for check ups it's ridiculous. I want to like this Planned Parenthood, I really do. It's clean and the staff is helpful. However the wait time is ridiculous! When I come in here with an appointment I end up waiting an hour to be seen. What's the point of having an appointment when you have to wait like that. I see people who come in after me and are seen before me, it's very frustrating. Today I am waiting to get a shot, something that takes like 5 minutes maybe less to preform. Worst experience ever. Went to plan parenthood told her I have a test to go too but then I never left the building. She never put me into the system made me wait for 1hour and a half. At the end I went to ask why I wasn't seen yet she say I was never in the system be cause she never put me in. Like yes I have a school test to go but I skip it just so I can be here for something important. But instead of she never put me into the system to be seen and make me wait for an hour and a half.... who wont be mad. read more

Super rude staff. PA that attended me was not as helpful. Didn't really explain my situation well to me. I felt dumb asking her questions because she looked irritated. The medical assistant that roomed me was also extremely rude. More like smart ass. Didn't like the service at all. As this is my multiple visit here I decided it was time to address my opinion. The wait here is ridiculous. Every time I have had an appt the wait has been an hour or more. This time, I've already been waiting almost 2 hours and 30 minutes. The staff is very uneducated, lack respect and unorganized. Paperwork is always missed place, Doctors don't review your chart before they see you and nurses( medical assistants) don't know any answers to your questions. If only there were a negative rating scale, because this business deserves it. One of the nurses is beyond the definition of rude; obviously this Planned Parenthood is in desperate need of health care "provisionals" to cover appointments during their business hours. And she knows that the office needs her, so she works at an extremely slow pace and has zero tolerance for answering questions about ones health issues. Other staff members will look someone straight in the face and lie about office policies just to get people out of the door. I was guaranteed that my specific health concern would be looked at immediately if I came in under a 'walk in' basis (not matter the day, not matter the time because that type of infection could spread and develop into something so much worse). Once I came back, of course, they sent me away...and asked me to come back a week later! Some staff member had their kids running around inside of the office, behind the glass...where people are suppose to be "working." It looked like a chaotic daycare behind the glass. Find somewhere else to go, if at all possible! This is the most unorganized, and unprofessional place of business that I have visited in years! And it makes me so sad to think that this is an only option for so many women within our community. I wonder how many other women have waited five hours within this facility, only to have left the health center without help, without answers, without treatment, and without having been treated with dignity or respect. So I have had a few experiences with this planned parenthood, and overall they have been sort of frustrating. The wait time is a bare minimum of an hour, and the last few times I've been I've waited over 2 hours. This is ridiculous to me, and I talked to the nurse about it and she said it is because they fall behind schedule throughout the day because appointments that are supposed to only take 15 minutes take 30 for example, and it adds up. She said sometimes people wait up to FOUR HOURS. Also, I would add that my most recent appointment for which I waited over 2 hours was at 9 in the morning, if the wait is due to falling behind in their schedule, how does this happen so early in the morning? I can't even imagine how bad the wait would be in the afternoon. I think they need to hire another doctor who can make up for the delay because it happens every day from what I can tell. If they don't have enough funds or something for more staff, then can they at least offer free wifi so I can get work done rather than waste away hours of my life in their waiting room?? and maybe some complimentary coffee as well? lol read more
