Fell and fx my humerus in June 2026. Was seen by Get Well Urgent Care after driving 3 hrs from Yosemite. Doctor never touched me, gave me a sling reluctantly. kept saying I need to move my arm or it will freeze on me. I was sent to get x-rays that I had to call before they closed to get results (they didn't call me like they said they would). Got a bill from them with a charge for $750 - Surgical procedure. When I called the billing dept said the facility reported that they "performed a procedure" on me. NO they didn't. I was expected to accept that answer and pay bill. I am in process of contacting me insurance to file a complaint of erroneous charges being billed. Check your bills! read more

Wait was very long. Service wasn't good at the front desk. When we finally got a room, they swabbed my daughter's nose to check for flu and her throat for strep. Came back in and said she had the flu. They never checked her temperature, ears, throat, etc. they didn't do a physical at all to assess her. The dr didn't give me any care instructions, just that she was good to go In 3 days. And that she prescribed Tylenol/motrin. Then she walked out. Well my daughter didn't improve, even after 7 days! she will be going to see her actual doctor for a true diagnosis. Went to see her regular Dr. she has pneumonia!! One of my friends fell today and injured her arm. It is a Saturday. I drove her to Get Well Urgent Care. As we approached the building, an employee slammed out of an employee entrance and nearly hit me. I jumped back and she mumbled an irritated apology. Then, we went inside. A bored receptionist told us that they would not be able to see my friend because she would need an x-ray and they don't do that on the weekends. Therefore, she said there were only two options: we could wait until Monday or we to the ER. She had no solutions that involved even helping my friend with the obvious pain she was in. Instead, we went to Golden Valley Health Center and they got her in immediately. She left there in under half an hour with a pain medication prescription, cray paperwork, and a sling. I just did not see the quality of concern or care at Get Well that one expects from healthcare providers. read more

Went with my daughter one time and was charged $70 due to their system being down and not being able to verify my insurance. I followed up several times and was told a credit would be given. Never receive anything and eventually ended up filing a claim with my bank. Another time I took my son and was told he had pneumonia and he did an x-ray. They said they would call me with results. I called and they said they weren't ready and they would call me back. Never did until I had to call once again to get results. Took my son urgent care with a head injury was the second person in line and waited for over an hour. Could hear the doctor talking to patients in the rooms around me. Decided to leave and go see his primary. This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I took my daughter for a UTI and sports injury. I paid my $45 co-pay for them to diagnose her with the UTI and refer us to the ER But did not prescribe her antibiotics. I show up to the ER and they were perplexed as to why we were referred to the ER considering there was no active bleeding or pain. NEVER AGAIN will I go there. read more

get well urgent care is quite possibly the worst place in merced by far and i waited in the dignity ER waiting room for 4 hours and i would still pick that place over this. i could go on and on about how bad or slow or rude they were but honestly just save your time and money. You definitely won't save it here with all the scams they try to pull. for example if you get a test done here they will be in no hurry to get you those results and on top of the charge for the test you get charged another $90 to get those results that you payed for read back to you by the doctor. not only is that highway robbery don't try and ask the lady's up front because all they'll do is call you hon and not do their job at all. just don't go. read more

THANK YOU Getwell Care clinic! After a horrendous experience with a local clinic and pharmacy, I was in need of medical care for a very acute UTI/Kidney infection, and in excrutiating pain. My old clinic would not give me a follow up appointment soon enough and while that was bad, I'm grateful because that's what brought me to GetWell. They got me in the minute i called, i was seen by a GREAT doctor, wait time was very short for an urgent care clinic, staff was kinder than kind (Samantha, I'm taking about you ), and they got me the antibiotics i needed and ordered the necessary bloodwork. Lab was nearby and the pharmacy was just across the street. So EASY! they truly made everything super smooth! My experience was so extraordinarily fantastic, that i asked them to adopt me as a patient for good! They scheduled me for a physical within 15 days. I needed to reschedule and i could do it via text message! Isn't that amazing? I don't know how you do it, GetWell! I'm SO GLAD i found you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! My 3 year old daughter had an ear infection and was screaming crying because she was in pain. I took her to a different urgent care and waited 2 hours, and still had a long wait to go. I decided to come to this urgent care after calling and being told the wait time was 10-15 minutes. We made the trip from Atwater and took about 15 minutes to get there. After arriving I filled out all the info and paid my copay, after I asked the wait time again and was told it was 45 minutes. I normally wouldn't mind, but my daughter was still screaming crying in pain. I waited in the waiting room trying to juggle calming my screaming 3 year old down and holding my 3 month old son by myself for about 30- 40 minutes. A nice nurse took us to a room to wait after we went in the back to use the restroom. We waited in the room for another hour, by myself with a screaming toddler still in a ton of pain exhausted from waiting in multiple doctors offices. I'm about to break down crying at this point just overwhelmed. I wish they would have helped us sooner, I was really struggling by myself with two babies I just wish they could have seen that and had some compassion. We eventually got the prescription for the antibiotics, and the visit with the actual doctor was less than 5 minutes. I understand they were probably short staffed, maybe it was the perfect storm but my experience was terrible. read more

I have been covid tested over 100 times during the pandemic. And I sincerely wanna say get well urgent care is by far they most hostile environment I have ever Had to deal with. First off for public record they charge $140 for covid rapid testing. So that peaches and cream, not the reason for their one star review. The reason for their one star review was due to the verbal, physical and lack of public health awareness while waiting for my 15 min covid test results. Need more detail? Some random unidentifiable doctor, literally walked to my driver window and knocked on my window, I caringly slightly cracked my window to tell him I believe I have covid I'm in the process of getting my results. He was so prejudice he cared less bout my contagion. He then continued to act a aggressive still banging on my window which is rolled up now. He then flips me off more than once and I quote his words "anytime motherfucker as he now standing in front of my car wit his hand in the hair like a referee signaling the kick is good. Confused, fearful I tested positive, spent $140 and got belittled. ~AVOID BECAUSE OF THEIR SCAMMY BILLING PRACTICES~ The care was fine, but I was overcharged and after 3 months of calling them weekly I still don't have a refund. More details below. THEY WASTE YOUR TIME: I have spoken with both their billing department and the front desk, and they have me going in circles. Every time I speak with someone, I'm told that the same script: the manager who can approve the refund is in a meeting and they can only leave them a message about the refund. Apparently this manager is in a meeting every day and at every hour of the day. THEY BILL YOU FOR FAKE SERVICES: The only progress I was able to make in the past 3 months was getting an invoice for my visit, but the invoice looked made up: the dollar amount it said I paid was wrong, it listed a doctor I didn't even see, and the rest was nonsense "service codes". The scam became extra clear when I got my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company. It turns out that they charged the insurance company for 2 surgeries that never took place (I went in to check out a sprain). No wonder they gave me a fake invoice. While she at first tried to say it was a miscommunication (I was never asked to leave, merely wait in my car due to the full waiting room area), I was adamant the front desk worker repeatedly called my service dog a pet and said pets were not welcome and to leave. She then admitted the worker was new, and that she would be talked to about the incident and sent for retraining (but, again, she also called and spoke to a supervisor). Either way, I'm happy they apologized and that their workers will get more training on service dogs. I ended up being invited to come back and was brought to a room immediately. I most likely won't go back there, the hurt of being denied still happened, but I'm glad they at least reached out and I got the care I needed. I made an appointment online and came to this urgent care as soon as they opened. I entered with my task trained service dog, and was told to sit. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes before one of the front desk workers even noticed I had a service dog. Service dogs are specifically task trained to assist with a disability and should be out of the way and unobtrusive. Once noticing I was told "pets were not allowed" and I would need to leave. I informed her he was a very clearly marked service dog and she then called her supervisor. She then relayed to me that the supervisor said it didn't matter and "all pets" aren't allowed. Darcy is not a pet. He is medical equipment with thousands of hours training invested into him. Furthermore it is illegal to deny a service dog to urgent care centers. Urgent care centers must accommodate service animals (dogs) pursuant to the ADA. I explained all this to the worker, even stating that my service dog has been with me in hospitals and ER's to which she responded they are a small establishment and therefore somehow exempt to federal law. Being kicked out this morning was embarrassing beyond belief and I walked out in tears. I don't have a service dog because it's fun, I have one because I have a disability that requires it. The front desk worker had zero phone numbers she would provide even after I asked for a supervisors phone number or customer service number. I would've given them 5 stars before they started using PAs instead of MDs and getting their bread and butter from Covid testing ($140/rapid test and $200/PCR). Now they want you to text them instead of calling(!) and the staff is unprofessional and incompetent. Today I had a 2:30 video appt, but I didn't talk to the PA until 5:15 - and that was only because I CALLED HER. The receptionist had called me almost 2 hours AFTER my appt time to get my copayment, didn't apologize for the wait, and said the provider would call me in 10 minutes. I waited an hour before I called, and all the provider said was sorry for your wait. Avoid this place if you can. read more

Be aware of being overcharged and then when you talk to your insurance and find out Get Well owes you a refund, you will get the runaround and not your money. In December my partner and I had covid. He was charged his $40 co pay plus $25 more for what they said was a deductible, for a phone visit. He should have just been charged his co pay. They owe him $25 and will not give it back to him. He has called their billing department several times, contacted the clinic several times and they both say something different. So this point, it's not about the money, it's about dishonesty with Get Well Urgent Care. If they can't be honorable with charging you the correct amount and or issuing you a speedy refund when you are due one, I wouldn't trust them with my health. The other experience I had was when my elderly mother fell from a ladder and was seen at this clinic, the doctor sent her home with muscle relaxers. No x-rays were done, nothing. I'm not a doctor but when an elderly person falls from a ladder, x-rays should be automatic. A week after being seen here, I insisted my mom go to the ER, it was there where they did x-rays and told her she fractured her back. If you chose to go to Get Well, be your own advocate and be certain that you are paying the correct amount due instead of what they ask for, cause you won't get it back. My insurance company contacted and investigated my complaint that we were over charged and should not have been. Get Well Urgent Care told our insurance that they had credited the account for the refund and would process it as soon as possible. So we contacted Get Well after hearing back from the insurance and Get Well told us, "We are still looking into it on our side." Hmmm... Not what they told the insurance. So I am preparing another complaint so my insurance can deal with them. Please, if you've been overcharged or suspect that you have, contact your insurance company and have them investigate. As of 9/11/23, we haven't received our refund. Our insurance is currently investigating as to why. Not sure how the state of CA allows them to remain in business. Avoid!!! read more

My boyfriend had a small seizure while making his shake for the morning and cut his thumb pretty bad. Went to getwell and they got us right in. Very friendly and polite staff, and the wait time wasn't bad. They took care of his thumb and we were out of there no problem. Getting home we realized his phone was missing. After searching for about an hour I decide to go back to the office and ask of anyone had turned it in. SOMEONE DID! The part I really appreciate is they wouldn't just hand it over. They asked for a description of it first so I just called it. But I love that they took the extra step to make sure it was returned to the right person. THANKS GUYS! read more

Do not go here! I have been waiting since December for a refund because they charged me more for my copay. Why did I pay it? Because my kid was sick but after I got my insurance on the phone while waiting I was told I had to wait till January when they do their billing. To then call and be told I could go in the office and retrieve my refund. When I'm then told I have to go on a list and wait for the billing manager to call me which by the way was long . Why is there even a refund list? Do they not know how to run insurances? Anyhow i have called just about every hour of the day even 6 PM to be told she's in a meeting. Merced Urgent Care I was there on July 12, 2022 due to having pain on my right foot, it had been hurting for several days and didn't know why, cuz I had not hurt my foot anywhere. So I came to this office and explain to the Doctor that I was and pain and that I had gout before and it could be it had returned, so he examine my foot and said he didn't think it was gout and just sent me home and prescribed a pain killer and sent me to get an x-ray at El Portal Imaging Center where they told me it would take at least four days to be sent to the Doctor. Can you imagine, its suppose to be "urgent" care where they should be looking at the x-ray the same day and I should be getting my prescription the same day. I got my prescription for the painkiller two days later. It has now been eight days and I am still in pain and the urgent care has not bother to call me about my x-ray or to see how I am doing. I had what I thought was a quick and easy visit. Waited an hour to be seen, paid my $10 copay right as I was checked in. Told the PA I have a UTI, she confirmed it based on my urine dipstick, sent an erx to my pharmacy. I had about a five minute total interaction with the PA. So I had high hopes that there wouldn't be any insurance issue since they took my insurance and I paid my copay up front. Fast forward to 2 months later and I get a $130 bill from a lab associated with this urgent care saying they did about 10 tests on me, some that look like it must be blood tests even though I only provided a urine sample. The tests were ordered by a doctor that I never had contact with. I called and texted and attempted to contact the office to clarify these charges with no response. My insurance filed a grievance so we'll see what comes of this. Overall, terrible billing and completely lacking of patient support, please avoid if at all possible. read more

I have been to this urgent care many times, however, this past visit on 4/30/2023 was the WORST VISIT I have ever experienced at an urgent care specifically because of their doctor, Ruth Ogot. I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with a doctor before. The bed manner was absolutely horrible. I was talked to very condescending when I was concerned about new symptoms I was experiencing. I had visited the urgent care 3 days earlier and was advised by the original doctor I had seen that if I was experiencing new symptoms or my current symptoms did not get better then to please come back. So I went back when I developed new concerning symptoms that should be treated at an urgent care due to being non-life threating at this point (kidney infection); I've been treated for this health issue at an urgent care before. This other doctor, Ruth Ogot, saw me and said she would not consider switching my medicine. She told me that Keflex and Cipro are the same medicine and told me to Google it if I didn't believe her. I knew they are not the same drug; Cipro is a stronger antibiotic which is why the first doctor didn't start me on that medicine in the first place. I googled it like she told me to and they are NOT the same drug; in fact, they are in different classes of drugs. I tried explaining my past health history and current symptoms so she could get the whole picture but only went off one test that is not always accurate. After expressing my very valid concerns, she finally told me to just go to the ER then if I'm having symptoms. I was then fuming because I did NOT have to pay for a 2nd visit at that urgent care if I was not going to get the help I need. Then I was told "Well, I'm answering your questions now, aren't I? That's a service, isn't it?" I said "Not when the answers provided are inaccurate!" I have never have such a terrible encounter as this one and I was bawling out of anger after the visit. I could not believe that I could not receive the help I needed, nor the most simplistic act of empathy and compassion at the very least. I would advise AGAINST seeing this doctor. I am a very understanding and positive person so the fact that I have nothing positive to say about this doctor should speak volumes. My visit today was exceptionally great! Spoke to the doctor on board their for women health issues, and this doctor went above and beyond to help me figure out what my problem was, and recommend solutions as well! The nurse their was great as well! Would recommend going to this facility, because they won't brush off your concerns. They will actually take the time to listen to you for anything you are concerned about! The only thing that is a con is the place looked a little spooky.
