With house painters coming the next day I panicked when our garage door went haywire on me. Cable came loose, door was sitting crooked, big problems I thought. Now tomorrow our painters can paint house plus the garage door. For what I thought was a huge problem turned out to be no big deal. Just wanted to share our experience with PGD&O - Raymond serviced our electronic driveway slide gate. I called 5 different companies, Raymond was the ONLY one who got back with me via phone & text & came out to look at it. He spent about an hour with my husband and turns out our code numbers had somehow moved within the remote causing the gate to not open. We will certainly keep PGD&O on hand for any service needs. Steve promptly came out, replaced the wall circuit board, oiled up the garage springs/hinges, even shared advice on maintenance. My house was built in 1976 and the garage door had never been replaced. Our spring busted on the garage door and we needed quick service (we couldn't open the door to get the cars out). The repairman showed up a few hours later and made quick work of the problem. I have used Plano Garage Doors 2 times (2009 and 2014) to replace springs on my garage door. Figured why hassle trying to find another company so called then for another spring break. Scheduled the appointment, took off work, only to have them call me 3 minutes before the time window was finished to say they wouldn't be able to make it by and tried to reschedule me on Saturday (the next day). I called their competitor in Plano and they took care of me in the same day. Interestingly enough, the spring that broke was the same one replaced in 2014 by Plano Garage Door. I remember at the time the installer mentioned that my garage door was heavy but the spring he had in the truck should work. This was my 2nd time using this company. I called them on a Friday evening after 5pm because one of my springs broke (I did not buy my garage door from them) and Barbara told me about the benefit of replacing both and that they have a coupon online and the warranty on the service. At the moment when I felt trapped inside my house because both cars were inside, and I literally couldn't lift the garage, she said someone will be at my house by 8am tomorrow. They installed my garage door opener a fee years ago and it's never failed and I know both of these springs will never fail. We had a great experience with Plano Garage Door today. We came home to find out that our garage spring had broke and the garage door opener had twisted the rails and bent the top garage door panel. I called Plano Garage Door and they politely took my call and sent out a tech within a few hours. Scott arrived and replaced the broken spring, straightened out the door and the rails, and made sure everything was working well. I had them build and install a custom gate that was supposed to match the original on the other side. Instead of matching they took a gate that looked similar but wasn't as wide as the custom gate and put 2" blocks on the side to make it to the original panel. Over all it's fictional but not what was paid for. read more

I have used Plano Garage Door & Opener since moving to Plano 30 years ago. This week I had a reason to use them again and was reminded about how great they are. I had an appointment for an estimate and the tech called early just to see if I minded if he came early which was great. Ended up I needed to replace the opener. They were able to schedule the appointment for the next day. Again that tech called ahead of schedule to see if he could come early. I'm used to appointments showing up late ... not wanting to come early! Both guys were very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Plano Garage Door & Opener. Over the past 1.5 years I have had Plano Garage come to my home and fix a cable on my garage door. After it came off a 3rd time I called them and asked them to repair it the correct way and they refused to stand behind their labor and fix it the 3rd time for free. They wanted me to pay yet again to repair something they supposedly had repaired 2 times with in a year. Do not use them as they will not repair it right the first time nor stand behind their work if something malfunctions after a relatively short period. read more

When I called this company, no one answered the phone, so I called another company and made arrangements for them to come out. As soon as I got off the phone, this company called me back. I told the man I had called another company, at which point he hung up on me. About 15 minutes later, someone called me from a different number saying he wanted to verify the address for the garage door repair. I recognized the accent as being the man that called me back. He asked again for my address. My suspicions were telling me not to give it out. I had given my address to the company that I hired. So I asked him, "What address do you have for me?" He hung up on me again. I can't speak for the quality of their work, as I never had them come, but their business ethics are seriously lacking. read more

Not reliable, not upfront, not on time. I called for service and said they would call me back never did so I call back week later and finally get to talk with Raymond about hate problem, he ask for me to send pictures. I did and so he booked a Tuesday appointment, text me 30 minutes before said wouldn't make until next day, didn't show up until 2 days later. Called me said looking at gate said to fix and raise gate was 2 man job need to book for another week. Then after hanging up with me went to house and told wife owed him $165 for coming out to give the estimate and would give half back if called them back. This place is 15 miles from my house. This company is not up front, this guy took advantage of us, this company was not prepared especially after seeing my pictures and putting the electric motor in 5 years earlier. I took off work to meet them out there on that Tuesday, I lost more money by him not showing up and having to leave my work. When I called him about all this he wouldn't answer phone until I said I was going to dispute charges. Overall just bad business and Bad character. read more
