Working with Scot and the entire team was an incredible experience from start to finish. They were excellent communicators, truly listened to our vision, and created stunning inspiration boards that perfectly captured our theme. What stood out most was how collaborative and transparent the entire process felt. Their online portal was fantastic. It clearly showed each floral request, counts, inspiration photos, and costs. Their suggestions were beautiful and thoughtful. In addition, they were upfront about pricing every step of the way. These are two very important things to consider when selecting a florist. First, having an online portal made it incredibly easy to make adjustments together and immediately see changes reflected in the proposal. Second, clarity around flowers and pricing felt surprisingly difficult when speaking with other florists. Plant Hawaii stood out because they were so clear, organized, and transparent by comparison. On the wedding day, Scot and his team arrived and immediately jumped into action. As a planner, coordinating vendors can be stressful, but Plant Hawaii needed no direction. They built a breathtaking ceremony arch, placed all aisle and reception florals, handed me the bride's bouquet, and made sure I knew exactly where all the leis were. Everything was seamless and effortless. Florals truly set the tone for a wedding, and Plant Hawaii delivered the most jaw-dropping tropical Hawaiian arrangements. Q: What do I do on weekends? A: Plant shop, but not at Plant Hawaii. New hours as of last week, Mon-Fri only. Closed on weekends. I've actually been there on the days and hours that they say they are open but they were closed. I pressed the Ring button as instructed, but no response. I got into my car but spied another family coming to the parking lot. I got out of the car and followed them. Somehow they had the magic that I didn't have, and got a lovely young girl to open up the shop. I tagged right along, glad that I didn't drive away when I was going to. The girl was really nice. I've purchased a variety of things from them in the past: lipstick vine, hibiscus and etc. The prices are pretty good; hibiscus on the pricier side but they have the Cajun series that I crave so much. My fave nursery on Oahu for sure. Scott is so knowledgeable and helpful and the plants they have are so beautiful and great quality. They also supply plants to Foodland Farms so I love shopping there too. They have a great selection of plants but you can always call beforehand to find out what's available. Their pricing is very reasonable especially considering that plant prices are sky rocketing during this pandemic due to everyone staying at home and becoming plant parents now. They have such a cute, Instagram friendly set up in their nursery too, with this boho swinging chair you can take pics at! Only downside is they aren't open everyday! I'm just being selfish haha. Newly opened after their flood they had. Went on the first day they opened. Very small selection of plants because their varieties all got washed out by the flood. However the owner/grower Scott was very optimistic and very friendly and have a nice selection of orchids and other plants. I will be definitely coming back here for their orchids as the prices were really good and he will be having more selections overtime. He also does weddings. Parking was a bit confusing but Scott was nice to show us where to park. read more

Scott is a Brilliant artist, his flower designs and product are unique and breath taking. But as an event coordinator and consumer, I was very disappointed in his communication and follow through. This was my first event working with him and Plant Hawaii. I loved his set up and family own and ran dynamic, as did my clients. When we met him he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. After we contracted with him the communication between my client, my self and him became worse and worse. He did not follow through on his promises to adjust orders, communicate products, estimates for more work, and just really fell short on keeping up with his side of the deal. I know it is a small company, but even when he hired some help finally, he was not on the ball. I understand high/busy season demands, but this was happening over a 9 month or so period. Wether high or off season nothing changed. Then day of he was supposed to come back and do 2 things that were promised. Place the flowers on the cake, and take the arch arrangement down and place it on the head table. Which I ended up doing both and he showed up 90 mins after the reception had started right when we were about to finish dinner service and cut the cake. The flowers and arrangements were truly beautiful and I will never fault him for that part... I do believe he needs to stay on the creative side though and have another run the business aspects.. communication is key in any business wether with piers or clients. I got married at Kualoa Ranch on Secret Island in June 2018. As I walked through the woods towards the beach, I was greeted by beautiful strands of lei flowers draped on the tree branches which were a complete surprise. And as I came around the corner to see our ceremony, I was overwhelmed by the fact that I was getting married... and that THIS was my wedding. The florals were so stunning. Scott really hit it out of the park. I was a very picky and cost-conscious bride. Not necessarily the best combination. Scot found a way to get me what I wanted, and didn't let me nickel and dime myself out of an unforgettably beautiful day. He over-delivered in big and small ways. He was also willing to meet me in person to discuss my goals, work through several design packages and attend my 30 day walk through. And despite a difficult growing season for some of the flowers we had planned for, Plant Hawaii came through for us and found a way to get them. Oh and how could I forget... I was very indecisive about whether I wanted a floral crown or loose flowers in my hair. Plant Hawaii's lead florist created the most beautiful crown (exactly as I requested it), and of course I wore it. But Scot also sent a bunch of orchid plants with my Mom so we could choose from different sized flowers in case we did something else. And he texted me to remind me about sunscreen and bug spray. SO sweet. And then after the wedding when all of Plant Hawaii's vases accidentally came back with us, nobody harassed us or threatened to charge us. We were thanked and welcomed to the nursery when we drove them back. Another reviewer commented that some communications were challenging, and I will admit that at one point we did have a little frustration with communication (not anytime near my wedding though). But it seemed Plant Hawaii added some additional team members which fixed the issue. AND given all of the other things I discussed above, this would still be a five star review. Beautiful small orchid nursery in waimanalo! I went in to buy a couple and left with 8 ooops! they look beautiful in our house. My experience here was amazing! Scott was incredibly knowledgeable and the nursery was so serene. I purchased a Burrows Tail and Calathea Medallion that were reasonably price and were kept in great shape. I've had issues in the past where I've gone to nurseries and purchased plants that had pests and were mistreated, but the quality of plants at Plant Hawaii were incredible and are thriving! I went to 3 other nurseries before I found Plant Hawaii. I was in search of low light indoor plants for my home. The other nurseries didn't have much of a selection for my needs. I initially thought Plant Hawaii was too specialized (and high-end) to have anything i would want to purchase. Boy, was I wrong! Scott greeted me when I drove in looking lost. His customer service was fantastic. He took me up to the hut houses to look at plants that would fit my low light conditions. The hut houses were clean and a pleasure to walk through. Although Plant Hawaii is normally open to retail sales only during the weekend, Scott accommodated my request to visit his orchid nursery during the week when traffic is lighter. Scott allowed my grandson and I to tour his facility and we were amazed at how vast it was. There were thousands of orchids of all varieties along with hundreds of other plants. Scott picked out the healthiest orchids for us. We are really pleased with our purchase and glad to have met Scott. I don't write many reviews, but I wanted to say how much I loved stopping in here. I saw signs as I drove through Waimanalo and for once had time to check it out. There were so many beautiful and unique orchids! Caro helped me out and answered a ton of questions for me, even showing me how to replant the orchids, change the medium and separate them if needed. I now have a ton of orchids to work with, at a great price, and I am working on my orchid haven on my lanai. Also saw some beautiful potted plumeria trees - will be going back!! read more
