Dr Gabriel is Awesome! He installed my implants about 8 years ago and to my surprise they need maintenance. He was so understanding and forth coming when I needed maintenance on them. My implant came a little loose and he fixed it up in 10 mins and allow me to tell you he is a pain free dentist. I could take a nap in his chair. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be back. When I arrived, there were no other patients, which immediately felt strange. Their website advertises a $29 emergency exam and X-ray for new patients, but once I got there, I was told that only covers one area. Dr. Gabriel then wanted a full set of X-rays for an additional $89. I was originally told $59, so that was confusing -- he eventually agreed to that price, but it felt unprofessional. The exam was quick and impersonal. He told me I needed oral surgery for an impacted wisdom tooth and implied I couldn't afford it since I didn't have insurance. He even suggested I see a "friend" who could bill it under medical insurance, which was misleading -- I later learned my dental insurance (which I did have) would've covered extractions. I was still charged for unnecessary X-rays and never received an itemized bill after multiple requests. Overall, the lack of transparency, empathy, and professionalism was really disappointing. Additionally, I have a pacemaker and require to have antibiotics for any exam. I had to call them 2 days before my 2 week follow up and remind them. I had just switched to this dentist after being with my previous one for many years. I chose them based on proximity and some of the reviews on Google. I should've checked Yelp first.....shame on me! The office is nice and new and pretty clean. It was easy to get an appointment. On my first visit, they did full x-rays. I was disgusted because part of the tool that goes in the mouth wasn't properly covered! The tech didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Once done with x-rays, the dentist came in and said that I had an infection in one of my teeth. He wrote up a treatment plan that included pulling my tooth, replacing a few veneers, doing a deep cleaning, etc, and it was approximatley $7300+! I asked if there was anything else he could do that was less costly and invasive......nope. I asked if that quote was WITH my insurance, and the office girl proceeded to tell me that what I have is NOT insurance...seriously? They were quite rude. I told them I was going to get a 2nd opinion. After speaking to a friend who is a maxillofacial surgeon and recommended seeing an endodontist to see if the tooth could be saved, I email the dentist office to get a referral to an endodontist. They never responded. Guess he didn't want to lose the $7300K. I ended up going to an excellent endodontist who was able to save my tooth, didn't have to remove any of the veneers, clean out the infection, do a bone graft, etc. Without my insurance, it was only $3000! This price included the surgery, 3D x-rays, and two follow-ups with new 3D x-rays. I went back to Plantation Palms yesterday to set up an appointment for a cleaning. The office girl said that I HAD to get a deep cleaning. I informed her that I had the surgery and everything was cleared up. Instead of looking at what I had from the endodontist (the post op report and x-rays), she said he won't do the regular cleaning, which my insurance pays for 100%. I had to get the deep cleaning, which is around $400+. What a scam! I will be changing this dentist to another one who isn't so money hungry and rude. read more

We found this office online and open on Saturday but should have read the reviews first before going. The front desk clerk took his insurance card and said she would check about his coverage but later said the systems were down. My husband paid the $29 for x-rays and consultation and upon meeting Dr Gabriel Shvets, he was told he had an infection. The dr explained that they don't take Guardian insurance despite it being on the website. My husband was told it would be $600 to have the infected tooth removed or $900 with a new tooth. My husband said he would just have the tooth removed and that is when Dr Shvets became rude. He told the assistant he's JUST having the tooth removed. He proceeded to shoot my husband 3 times with novocaine and began aggressively yanking on the tooth. He broke the tooth and then went back in for the remainder. At no time did he stop to check if he was doing ok, Just tossing tools and moving on. He told my husband to come back in 2 weeks for a follow up and that won't be happening. I really wish I could give zero starts. I went to this office in July 2022 for pain in my upper gum area. I was partially X-rayed and was told by Dr. Gabriel Shvets he didn't know where the pain was coming from. He advised me to get a deep cleaning of that area to ease the pain. Needless to say the pain never stopped- I eventually went to Aspen Dental and was told mi had a hole and cracked tooth and needed a root canal. Dr. G. Shvets never took time to exploratory examine my teeth to find out where the pain was coming. Instead he rushed through a unnecessary cleaning and sent me home with no further instructions. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM. Follow up: So I filed a complaint with the BBB and obviously Dr. Shvets received the complaint. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:30 AM today, and after paying for the exam, the doctor briefly saw me only to inform me that their x-ray machine was down and they were waiting for a repair. I decided to wait in the plaza for about an hour, hoping for an update, but when I went back at 11:30 AM, the machine still wasn't fixed. I told the staff that I wish they had informed me about the issue before I paid, as I had been waiting for hours without being able to complete my exam. They did offer to void my payment, but when Dr. Gabriel Shvets came out, he didn't apologize or even acknowledge me--he just walked away. As a patient, I expected professional care, but I felt like my time and dental emergency weren't taken seriously. The front desk staff suggested I go to their Fort Lauderdale location the next day, but honestly, after the way I was treated and felt, I don't feel confident in continuing care with a doctor who didn't show any concern. I went to the dental office other than my normal doctor to have a tooth pain examined upon examination. My doctor may have found one maybe two root canals at generally $800. Each receptionist said that he would do one of the root canals for free leaving it at 800. So then she shows me this crazy amount for worse scenario to root canals in a two tooth Bridge for $8800 with a discount down to $5200. Absolutely insane price when I just had a five tooth bridge made for $3500. Nice people, but way overcharge their customers there's better deals out there folks look elsewhere so they advertised a $29 x-ray deal so the doctor wasn't able to tell me even if I had a cavity from the x-ray she took which made no sense to me why would you even take x-rays thendidn't really feel like they were trying to work with me and they just wanted to charge a big fee, make their commissions and move on because I wasn't gonna be a continued patient horrible way to treat people, especially in today's economy. read more

First visit here. Upon walking in the door, I found the waiting area clean, but the environment cold. The lady at the front desk has not a single quality you would expect from someone in that position. She was not friendly, she did not smile, and she did not make me feel welcomed whatsoever. And then it got really awkward and confrontational when I refused x-rays. I was told I couldn't be serviced for a check up without them. Whattt?? Are you for real? Yes, it's been a while since going to a dentist for the first time. I was going to my last dentist for almost 20 years. But this comes as very surprising news to be told that the dentist wouldn't know what type of cleaning I need without x-rays. I received veneers and was left with an unfinished rough veneers in the back which makes it very uncomfortable and cuts my tongue. It was never polished at the end of the job which should of been done after the job and checked. I have called after returning from my vacation and now I'm told there will be a charge since I waited too long. They are very rude and threatened me with attorneys and that I will no longer be a client since I'm upset they won't complete the finishing adjustments. I went for a cleaning an consultation, they had told me my teeth were fine there were no cavities and the pain I was experiencing was from grinding my teeth down and that I needed a night guard. I went for a second consultation 2 weeks later to a different dentist, and low and behold, I had 4 cavities, and that was the reason I was in so much pain. 4 CAVITIES that were somehow unseen by Dr. Shvets. Man if I could only review the front desk person, Maria, this place would get a solid 5 stars. Unfortunately the hygienist and dentist are a whole 'nother story. First of all, let me note there are definitely some shady billing practices here starting with charging a $15 PPE fee that when you ask for an itemized receipt is listed as "Misc Procedure." Ok besides that I came in once and they sent me away because I couldn't have xrays done that day and they refused to see me without xrays, that's fine and reasonable enough. I made a second appt and came back once I could have X-rays done and they basically said "ok it'll be $101 for a deep cleaning" so I said "I don't want a deep cleaning, I'm just here for my regular cleaning that's covered every 6 months." Whaddaya know these people have the nerve to refuse to do the basic cleaning that's covered by your insurance if you don't agree to their "deep clean"?! And this after I'd been there for over half an hour! Again, I bit the bullet because I needed it but I was really angry when my husband told me they did the exact same thing to him. I suspect that accepting a regular cleaning insurance claim isn't profitable enough for their liking so they spring up these unexpected, and quite possibly unwarranted, charges arbitrarily. Then there's the dentist, he's AWFUL and has no bedside manner whatsoever. He is so heavy handed, my husband complained because the dentist made him bleed - and he's never one to complain. As for me? When he asked about my concerns I said I had a tooth that was hurting for a brief period. After getting an X-ray of it he says "oh it looks like you might have an infection so we'll just wait and see but you might need an extraction." Like WHAT I'm no dentist but wouldn't it make more sense to aggressively treat this possible infection to prevent an extraction? I'm not even 30 yo yet!!! The nerve, I tell you. And that sham $15 PPE surcharge, don't even get me started! First of all, they don't even give you the basic plastic goggles during your $100 deep cleaning to avoid getting water and gunk all over your face but even the hygienist herself didn't have goggles! She was just treating me and all my aerosols with nothing but her regular eyeglasses DURING COVID. Lastly, I mentioned the dentist is heavy handed and has no bedside manner. Let me tell you, I've never felt more dehumanized in a doctor's office than I did at this practice. I'm pretty sure the dentist didn't even sit for my deep clean, I think he hovered to get in and out as quickly as possible and go make another $100 off an unsuspecting victim. In his haste, he just left a suction tube in my mouth, never once allowing me to suction even when my mouth was clearly full. By the end of the "deep clean" I had salive on my cheeks, chin, and neck, I was so humiliated! And to add insult to injury, when the show I was watching on TV ended and it switched to Cocomelon NOBODY bothered to change the damm cartoons that were on for an adult. When I asked them to turn it off, the dentist didn't apologize or offer to change the channel, he just made some pathetic excuse ("oh there must've been a child in here before you" but mind you I'd been watching a cooking show before the channel changed). If I could give more stars I would. I called today complaining of severe wisdom tooth pain. Luckily they were able to get me right in. Dr Shvets was amazing walking me step by step and actually being able to extract the wisdom tooth the same day. As I had been advised at a prior office I would need to see an oral surgeon to have done which would cost over $1000 with my insurance. I came here due to having terrible tooth pain they had a " special " for a X-ray, after I received the X-ray doctor said I needed to pull my tooth out and then also I needed to add some type of drainage for my infection, which was a total of 900$. So I said I would have to think about it. Firstly, I walked in and they made me pay for the dental x-rays and exam prior to seeing the dentist. I have Humana dental insurance. this was totally unacceptable... what dentist makes a patient pay up front?. I should have walked away at that point.. However, I decided to pursue the opportunity to allow the dentist to make decisions. The Dentist appeared to be the only one doing the cleanings and dental procedures. I am forever indebted to Dr. Shvets. I had to have an emergency impacted wisdom tooth extraction! My primary dentist couldn't see me until 7/13 just for an evaluation. My friend searched local dentists and found Palms Dental! They were able to get me in literally last minute and removed the tooth! While Palms doesn't take my dental insurance they were reasonably priced for the emergency procedure and it was worth every penny. Dr. Shvets even fit me in today to help relieve the dry socket I wound up with. And, I'm happy to report I am pain free as of this afternoon. Thank you for saving the day Dr. Shvets! read more

I hadn't been to a dentist in entirely way too long & finally got the courage to find one & when I did it was Palms Dental .. I went in thinking I had insurance and it turned out I however did not have dental insurance , but they were still so welcoming about doing my dental work so I decided to get done what needed to get done . The environment is great ; clean , great music , nice staff and they had Friends playing in the room while I got my teeth done !! I was super nervous but the staff was so helpful and explained everything so well it helped a lot !! I had to get my fair share of work done but they worked with me on scheduling my appointments around my work schedule and with in weeks it is now all done . Everybody was nice from the front desk all the way to the dentist. Went in for an exam and cleaning. I ended up needing 2 cavities filled, which they could do right away. Everything was explained well, quick and painless. Only thing is they were pretty pricy even with insurance, $94 per cavity. I called my friend who had the same insurance and she paid less than $30 for a filling with the same insurance. Overall the office is clean and modern, everybody is nice and professional so I will continue going here. read more

Wow! What a wonderful office and doctor. I had the worst pain from my wisdom tooth coming in I called at 11:30PM -yes at night, and he was able to schedule me an appointment for the next day. After I checked in the receptionist did a great job juggling the phones and the patients as they came in. I was seen quickly and after the treatment plan was discussed I decided to get the little bugger out the same day. He numbed me and bam pulled it out. It was maybe about 5 mins so quick! I was back at work the same day! I emailed with a question I forgot to ask while I was in the office and not even an hour later he called me to discuss my question. I went back in February due to severe tooth pain. I called Saturday morning along with calling a bunch of other places and they were the only ones to respond. They saw me an hour later and helped me figure out my best option. The staff was kind and considerate. They listened to what I had to say about my fears and completely the procedure quickly and were very patient with my questions and sent me all of the x-rays the moment I asked for them. DR Gabriel, as he refers to himself due to a hard to pronounce last name, is the absolute best! A severe toothache resulted in searching for a Entodontist with good reviews and outstanding qualifications and that led me to Palms Dental in Plantation. A pleasant receptionist asked me to hold for a minute while she spoke with the Doctor who agreed to see me essentially as soon as I could get there. As I expected a root canal was necessary and he immediately performed the first step which completely stopped all pain. A second appointment a few days later allowed for the remainder of the procedure to be completed. Dr Gabriel is a caring, personable, highly qualified professional who is patient oriented, a quality reflected by the entire staff.
