This is not a fancy office but it is very clean. The Dr and and staff are very honest and profesional. I had a bad experience while visiting the office of this doctor. I asked the receptionist if they work with my medicare plan. They are in my network. She confused Medicare with Medicaid and asked me for a secondary card. She was very rude and turned her back. I think we elderlies do not deserve to be treated in this way. read more

Worst customer service i have ever experienced. I made an appt early march for the end of April...due to their schedule. They asked me my insurance at that time..... and then said we will see you at your appt. The day before the appt they called to tell me they do not accept my insurance. I was pretty shocked they were telling me this almost two months later....but said ok....I will pay out of pocket then....then they told me they are not accepting new patients .....SERIOUSLY! Then why did they make the appt in the first place??? I wasted almost two months of going to the dentist waiting for this appt!! I am really annoyed and would never use this dentist!!! If you call and give insurance ....make sure they check immediately if they accept it.....and if you are going to them for the first time....don't bother as they do not want new patients. read more

For years, I had a high opinion of Dr. Karam, but in the end, was disappointed as a patient and human being. My medical disappointment stems from a root canal performed on 1/23. After the root canal, I indicated I felt more pain after the root canal in several office visits. I also sent him a text message where I wrote to him: "Today is 2 weeks since the root canal, and I feel pressure 24/7. It is also sensitive to the touch. Although I understand that I am to expect discomfort at the roof of my mouth, which I do feel, I want to distinguish that discomfort from the pain I feel going up and down the tooth itself. Is this normal?...It hurts continuously in comparison to before the surgery when it only hurt sporadically when I bit on something. Please let me know." All complaints were minimized and dismissed. By August, my tooth turned black and hurt more than ever. From January to October, I spent over $2,000 visiting with several dentist who performed expensive tests, but none provided an explanation. Finally, I visited Dr. Forrest. When I told him I needed an implant, he told me that he was "in the business of saving teeth" and referred me to an endodontist to perform a re-treatment, which was done in January 2024. Finally, I am living pain free. I never thought I would see the day. NOTE: After I visited Dr. Forrest but before being re-treatedby the endodontist, I visited Dr. Karam to give him an opportunity for correction. Dr. Karam's solution was to cover my black tooth with bonding to hide its color while failing to address the issue of the pain. Dr, Karam's recommendation was specifically that I not see the endodontist but have my tooth replaced with an implant. I was prepared to forgive Dr. Karam, but he ultimately dismissed me as a human being, and for me, that cannot be forgiven.After all of this, I sent Dr. Karam several e-mails asking him to refund me the $600 fee I paid him for the root canal he performed because not only did I live in pain for an ENTIRE YEAR OF MY LIFE, but also because I had anxiety and incurred many expenses visiting dentists trying to figure out a solution on my own even though I visited him several times seeking help with the pain. I stressed that I could have been spared all of this if he had validated my pain and taken me seriously, but Dr. Karam ignored my e-mails. Then, I physically went to his office requesting to be heard; although Dr. Karam heard me out, he told me he would think about returning my money and get back to me because returning the money was "an admission of fault." It has been more than 2 months, but I am still waiting for him to get back to me with his final decision. Like I said, I had a high regard for Dr. Karam, and even if he had left me in pain for a year, I was willing to forgive him because anyone can make a mistake. But, the fact that he has not kept his word and had the courtesy to call me with his final decision, especially after he told me he would is unacceptable. read more

A good dentist is hard to find. Harder than finding a good hairstylist, a good nail salon, a good bartender ... even a good doctor. It's so easy to mess up your mouth - and I've been there with shitty dentists several times in my life. So, these days I follow the recommendations of trusted friends to find new dentists and other providers. So glad I followed Michelle C's wise advice to see Dr. Karam! I've had root canals, cavities galore, etc. done over the years. When I had two root canals done a few years back, the woman scared me half to death and left me in tears after telling me that my roots were so curved, a root canal might not work and I might lose the teeth... WTF? Nice bedside manner lady. Meanwhile, my teeth were fine. Dr. Karam is so incredibly nice and makes you feel utterly at ease. A rare quality in a dentist. He was concerned with costs for me (another rare quality!) and was sooooo overwhelmingly positive about everything he said. I was bracing myself for terrible news, but there wasn't any. He handled the discussion of my issues qith ease, so I didn't feel like the world was coming to an end. Seriously, probably the best dentist appointment I've ever had. I'm a dental snob and am rather critical of who manages my cleanings. My Hygienist here Gretel is stellar to say the least. She essentially gives me what I consider to be a deep cleaning. I travel roughly 35 minutes just for my cleanings here, its a hassle as it located far west for me. However I've been to dental practices in fort lauderdale beach, south beach, brickell, where some offer ipads, spa surround sound music, embroidered dental chairs... you name it. My experience with those dental providers, lacking consistency in quality cleanings, a little pretentious, pushy sales of invisalign, and shady billing practices. In my years of dental service here with Dr. Karam's practice I've been happy with my honest interactions with Dr. Karam. I've had a filling or two replaced with him, gently filed a chipped tooth (others wanted to pull), and some whitening done. He's never tried to pitch me on random services. I'm sad to say it took me this long to make the time to write a review, but happy to provide a whole review on my experience here. He runs an old school, honest, family friendly type practice. He and his staff is genuinely kind-hearted and just trying to incorporate what they love to do into their lives. I unfortunately moved as of late and can tell you I miss their practice because even in another state I'm having a difficult time in finding a fitting practice for my grill. read more

Dr. Karam is the BEST dentist in South Florida. He is intelligent and experienced with great charisma to boot. He clearly explains every issue and treatment option/procedure to make sure patients feel comfortable and informed. I'm always confident that Dr. Karam will steer me in the right direction without being pushy. His receptionists and hygienists are friendly and welcoming. The wait is never long, and after 3+ years and countless appointments I haven't run into a single problem with Dr. Karam or his staff-- amazing. read more

I don't leave reviews but this one I just couldn't deny... This hole in the wall location in a small business/strip type mall, does not do this professional little office justice. Dr Richard Karam is humble, detailed, and honest. I've always had sub-par dentist work, but this dentist gives you a clear and detailed understanding of your options and potential directions. He does not pressure of have an interest in steering you down a self benefiting monetary road. Most dentists are just nice and provide the service you ask. This dentist is personable, honest, humbling to speak with, and knowledgeable. Not surprising, it goes with out saying the rest of the office staff has the same demeanor.
