Who knew....a Bonsai Nursery in NIPOMO, CA! Today's…read moreadventure took us, hunting for a "requested" daughters Birthday gift to Muranaka Bonsai Nursery on Pajaro Lane in Nipomo. At present, the Nursery is run by a single Proprietor...a Bonsai "MASTER", George. We arrived to be promptly and warmly greeted by George himself (call before you go), who took us into the Nursery on a "guided tour". Fascinating! The depth of Bonsai (Bonsai means tree in a pot..., but without a specific style, it is not a Bonsai.) knowledge was apparent...obviously, this "Grasshopper" had a lot to learn. We viewed so many Bonsai's...Atlantic Cedar, San Jose Juniper, Japanese Black Pine, a Japanese Maple Stand, Jade tree(s), a Windswept Prostrata Juniper, Boxwood, Cork Elm , Chinese Elm and several Correa Pulchella(s) (Pink Australian Fuchsia), just to name a few. The prices here seemed very reasonable...and after approximately an hour and a half of "learning" about Bonsai, we were ready to make our decision. The final decision/pick...wait for it....was a flowering Correa. George, the "Bonsai Master", will take two days to make the preparation (transplanting the Correa into an oval pot, final trimming, and giving our Daughter's Present his professional Bonsai Juju) before we pick it up. Nice! Talk about "Out of the box" Customer Service George, thank-you! If you're thinking about Bonsai, I suggest you have a visit and take a look...because today, in this Yelper's opinion Muranaka Bonsai Nursery (George) truly earned this "highly recommend" 5 Star review! BONSAI, my Yelper Friends!!!
