Best dentist ever! I moved here from San Francisco and am fortunate I found Dr Wrobel so quickly. He is very competent and efficient and replaced a filling before I moved back to CA. My SF dentist had advised me to get a bridge because my back molar was slightly cracked. However, Dr. Wrobel examined the tooth carefully and said it just needed a filling. He save me so much money! Also, his front desk staff are so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend! UPDATE: October 2, 2018 - I had to call them to pay off a balance and they remembered me and were so kind. We began going to Platinum Dental with Dr. Doug Wrobel based on a friend's recommendation--she also brings her three children there. At the time, my daughter was just five years old and absolutely terrified of the dentist. When Dr. Rachel took over Dr. Wrobel's practice, I wasn't sure what to expect, but she has been every bit as kind and patient--if not more so. She's had to do even more work, yet always takes the time to make my daughter feel safe and heard. At their very first appointment, Dr. Rachel removed her scrubs and mask, sat beside my daughter, and simply talked to her. My daughter was in tears before the cleaning even began, but Dr. Rachel gently walked her through every step, letting her hold "Mr. Thirsty" and explaining how each tool would feel. The entire staff at Platinum Dental is just as wonderful. The hygienists are so gentle and encouraging, and the reception team is always warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. From the moment you walk in, you feel cared for and respected--especially as a parent with a nervous child. Dr. Wrobel has been my primary dentist for many years and he and his practice are truly Platinum quality!! He came in on a Saturday morning to accommodate my work schedule and even though it was supposed to be his off-day, he did a super thorough job and I had the cleanest teeth imaginable after the session!! I have been to many many dentists throughout the mainland and Dr Wrobel is absolutely the best! Dr Wrobel is professional, gentle, detail-orientated and very thorough. I've recommended him to many many friends throughout the years and they have all been really happy with the amount of care and attention they receive from him and his office. The whole office is wonderful, helpful and accommodating. I was on the mainland a couple of years ago and had a tooth issue and they told me that I needed a root canal, yikes! I held off and when I came back to the islands, I went to Dr Wrobel and he said that it wasn't that serious for a root canal but a crown will help - so I did that instead and 2 years later, the tooth is fine - not only did I save some $$ but also spared myself a lot of pain and multiple trips to the dentist since a root canal is not a one time ordeal. They are very timely, so be sure to be a little early for your appointment! read more

After falling victim to what seemed to be a terrible tooth ache, my girlfriend referred me to Dr. Wrobel to get it checked out. They were able to fit me into their booked schedule the same day! The doctor examined, tested and analyzed the problem area and even did some area X-rays. Happy to say, there was nothing wrong. It took me many years to find a good dentist. I was referring my friends to my old dentist who was ok but his office staff was terrible. Now I have the whole package to yelp to the world. Dr Wrobel is the best dentist I've ever known. He is thorough and honest and keeps me maintaining my teeth optimally. He doesn't do any unnecessary work either which is awesome. My hubby goes to him too and he is a difficult case because he has terrible teeth. He's had crowns, extractions root canals. The whole thing. He still goes back. I have good teeth thank goodness and want to keep them that way so I go 4 times a year for cleanings. His front office staff are amazing too. Parking is easy and free. I started going to Dr. Wrobel this year. He's done a beautiful job on 3 fillings and a crown. He was meticulous, gentle, and he uses advanced technology. He was able to take the X-rays and show me instantly on a computer monitor all my issues. He was thorough in his examination and great at explaining the issues to me. Prior to seeing Dr Wrobel I hadn't gone to a dentist in 5 years so besides a broken filling that prompted me to make an appointment, I had 4 cavities. I feel comfortable going back to him to fill that last cavity and will go to him for all my dental needs. I normally sit rigid in the chair with my hands tightly gripped onto the chair arms, but this was not necessary as he immediately put me at ease. I'm only giving Dr. Wrobel a 1 star to get his attention and also the attention of all his patients. I was just in the office for my 6 month cleaning and asked my dental hygienist if she is vaccinated. She said "no". I stood up and walked to to front desk to reschedule with someone vaccinated. The front desk said she's not vaccinated for "religious reasons". Okay, fine, that's Dr. Wrobels choice to listen to the nonsense about why people aren't vaccinated. But he owes it to his patients to let them know AHEAD OF THEIR APPOINTMENT that he's going to have an unvaccinated DH clean your teeth. I don't care how much PPE she has on, it should be MY choice, not Dr. Wrobel's choice about whether I want and antivaxer working on my mouth. Dr. Wrobel is a truly great dentist, but this is a major flaw in his thinking. When his staff calls ahead of time to check your medical history and condition, he owes it to his patients to ask "are you okay with an antivaxer cleaning your teeth?" read more

Dr. Wrobel was AWESOME! I was in Hawaii for a vacation when I lost an old filling. I thought it would be okay until I returned from the vacation but later in the day, it was evident I would need to see a dentist. After checking on my dental insurance, I called a couple of places and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Wrobel. I explained that I was leaving for CA the next day before going home to TX 3 days after that. He took excellent care of the issue and even call later in the evening to check on how I was feeling, knowing I was scheduled to fly out the next evening. The building is easy to locate, and also is on the first floor so great for older patients such as my grandma who has a hard time walking up stairs. Dr. Doug is the BEST on the island. Dr Wrobel has been the dentist of our extended family (three generations) for over 20 years. As others have said, his work is meticulous, technically advanced, and effective. In different cases for both my wife and I, he identified problems and referred us to an oral surgeon who confirmed his diagnosis. Also when we have experienced a sudden problem, he has always found time to squeeze us in. He and his staff have created a warm and friendly environment that goes far beyond simple professional courtesy. There is an emphasis on prevention, and he is supported by an excellent dental hygienist. I have been going to Dr. Wrobel for many years and am finally writing this review. He is extremely gentle and stays on top of the latest advances in dental treatments. A number of years ago, he noticed that I clench my teeth in my sleep. I was not even aware that I was doing that, but I did suffer from chronic headaches since I was a teen. He suggested that I wear a tiny device at night that he custom made for me. It is very comfortable to wear while I sleep. In fact, it completely got rid of my headaches and now I am addicted to the night device. I thank Dr. Wrobel for recommending it. It's completely changed my quality of life! He has high ethical standards and schedules patients very precisely so I never have to wait long in the waiting room (Although I understand why doctors have to account for no-shows by double booking, I hate when patients are double or triple booked and then I have to wait). His staff is very friendly, and overall I really recommend this dental office. They recently moved from Koko Marina to the Hawaii Kai Towne Center. read more
