We have moved several times across the United States and have dealt with many paint companies; this was by far was the most gratifying experience. Ben Rosenthal, Regional Manger met with me and went over my paint selection room-by-room. My bid was prepared while we were talking and Ben went out to his vehicle and printed out my cost estimate. The estimate was broke down by ceiling/walls/trim so I could see exactly where I was spending my money. This really helped me to determine what I wanted to do and if I made changes along the way I knew the financial impact without having to guess. On the painting day, Jorge Holguin, the Project Coordinator and Ben Rosenthal came to my home with their painting crew and made sure everyone understood the colors in each room by doing a walk-through. Once the painting began I made changes adding more ceilings/walls to the work and each time Jorge updated my invoice so I would know exactly what I was spending. Two and half days later my entire house was painted, cleaned-up and ready for us to move-in. This crew just completed our two-story large house in Southlake, and they did an outstanding job. They really took their time with the prep work, which included power-washing the house, replacing several trim boards, caulking all the windows, covering all the windows with plastic and more. When painting the garage doors, they even laid down paper on the driveway to make sure no overspray got on the cement. The crew would arrive by 7:30am, and would stay past 6:00pm. Ivan G. was our contact and was very professional and paid a lot of attention to detail. Their price was not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. I can't think of what else the company that bid higher could have done that these guys didn't do. Last comment is about cleanup. When they left, you couldn't tell they had been here. We used Platinum to paint our master bath cabinets from a brown stain to a bright white. Ivan came out and gave us an estimate that was very reasonable - we did outside of cabinets only. Ivan worked with us to schedule and even gave us recs of a SW paint that would look really good and bright. We are happy with the job they did and would recommend them - It took 2 days to complete and they came back out to do touch ups. When we determined the dates wouldn't work, they went way above and beyond and located another local company that could meet my schedule and even arranged to have them come do a consult at the same time that Platinum was scheduled to come out originally. Read reviews before you hire this company! Extremely disappointed in the work and integrity of this company. My husband and I were careful in choosing a painter for our exterior paint job as we got several quotes. We rolled the dice with Platinum bc Rod was a very understanding and knowledgeable salesman. We also went with them for our gutter installation. While I have no complaints about the gutters, the painting job was nothing short of a mess. The painters worked quickly and did the most sloppy job we could have ever imagined Not only did they find their crappy work acceptable, but they argued with my husband and I about whether or not the paint they had sprayed all over our bricks was theirs or not. The supervisor was the MOST condescending as he suggested I call a paint store to back his story up. The caulking was globby and thick, they didn't tape anything off, there was paint all over our brick,caulking smeared over the brick on our porch, the paint for the shutters was sprayed onto our house. They refused to fix any of it and suggested that someone else must have painted and made those mistakes. Certainly a waste of money, time and energy. So, save yourself the disappointment and go with a different company, since we now have to hire someone to fix these careless mistakes. read more

We have used Platinum Painting three times in the last 2 years. Our project manager Ben always delivers exceptional service from initial consultation, to price quote, to completed job. Very high quality painting, trustworthy employees, and reasonable prices. No mess, these guys leave your home cleaner than when they arrived. We used Platinum Painting for our recent paint project. They were not the cheapest estimate but we thought if they do an awesome job then it's well worth it. I was upset that a very young "rap singer" was used by them to do some of the painting. This guy was constantly on his phone WHILE PAINTING! (discussing upcoming rap shows!) and was very sloppy, getting paint drips everywhere, not even doing the trim. During the project I questioned a piece of the work and was told that "this was not included in your estimate" so they'd have to charge extra. I had a copy of the estimate with me and showed him that it was included--he did not seem happy about it. They made a huge issue over having to match a paint color when I provided them with all of the needed info. I suggested going to Home Depot and they said they'd do that, but would be charging me extra. When they came back they made several smart alleck comments about the paint color. Very unprofessional. The main painter reminded me no less than 20 times about how under-paid painters are---not my concern--they bid the job! They did take time to come back to clean up, but many areas were left without clean lines--and paint drips on counter tops, toilets, mirrors, overall just unprofessional. We will not be using them again. I must state also that a several times they argued with me over details, I was very stressed and glad that I had the estimate handy to show them that I knew what I was talking about, evidently they do not communicate with each other. I am not interested in how many miles they drive and how expensive it is to do a paint job---I just wanted my painting done! read more

Platinum Painting with Ivan Gonzalez just painted all the trim on my house and replaced some decayed boards. I was not satisfied with the work they did. They replaced one of the decayed boards on my house with a board that looked worse than the one they removed. I had to insist they replace the board before they did. They left paint drippings all over the brick all around my house and on the front porch. After I complained, they came back and rather than use a solvent or something to remove the paint, they chose to chip away at the brick on my house. They caused a big bolt that hold the frame for the garage door to come off. Rather than getting the right tool to screw the bolt back in, they chose to nail it in. When I expressed concern about that not being the proper way to put the bolt back in, Ivan said we will come back to fix any problem you have but, the contract says they will only come back up to 3 years. Over time, that bolt could work its way out of the wall and if that doesn't happen within 3 years, then what. They also left trash and nails in my yard. Even after they supposedly picked up the trash, I still see blue painters tape and piece of the brown paper they use in my yard as well as a big nail on my driveway. I do not recommend using them. read more

The process of finding someone to do your project is hard! In the past, I had done my own painting - but that was one room, maybe another room a year or so later when I forgot what a pain it is to paint! I bought a new house and wanted the main areas done...which didn't seem like a lot until I started walking around it and realized - wow this is going to take me forever... I asked some friends for recommendations - I knew a couple of people who very recently had work done on their homes and these were some picky people. I thought a recommendation from them would mean I got a good painter! Then the games started...the first one gave me a quick quote, but wanted me to provide the paint, then stopped responding when I asked how much paint it would take. Another told me for 3 weeks he would send me a quote (I still never got it). A third seemed promising at first, came out to see the house. Said he would have to come back to measure and couldn't give a quote til he measured. Ugh. I had a timeline in mind and after a month of getting nowhere, time was winding down. So I turned to yelp. I'm generally skeptical of reviews - it's mostly people who are mad and if there's too many good ones, I assume they are fake. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. I submitted my info online and got a call back pretty quickly (same day, I want to say in under an hour but I don't remember exactly other than it was faster than I expected). I was able to get an appointment set up with Miguel for later that week. Miguel showed up promptly, called to let me know he was on his way. He listened as I explained what I was looking for and took measurements with a laser. He then repeated my request and walked through the house with me again to make sure he fully understood. He went out to his car and worked up a quote within a few minutes. I was happy with the price (and the promptness!), so I signed up right there. I did not feel pressured at all - in fact, he said it was completely up to me and wanted me to feel comfortable with my decision. He left me with a color wheel (with about a million colors!) On project day, Miguel showed up a few minutes early. The crew was just behind him (they got a bit lost only because my street was not on GPS yet). We all walked through the house again and Miguel confirmed what we were doing. I did not stay while they were working (I hadn't moved in yet, so no reason to), but they said it was absolutely no problem if I stayed, left, dropped back in...whatever I wanted. I did come back a few hours later to see how the color was looking and was very pleased. The crew was absolutely fantastic, professional, careful of my floors and invited me to be as much a part of the process as I wanted. I walked around and noted a few spots that needed touched up, which they did. They also let me know if I noticed anything later on that I could just call and they would come out and fix it. So far I haven't seen anything wrong. I am extremely pleased with their work. I had all rooms done except the bedrooms & bathrooms - which I'm already thinking about having them back out in a few months to do those rooms. read more

This is a painting company I would not recommend. I signed an agreement for interior work in my garage to remove popcorn, float, texture, prime, and paint. Midway through the project Jorge, the COO/VPO stated he would have to increase charges 18% to match texture. We had our home's interior painted a few years ago by Platinum Painting and when we needed our new home painted we did not hesitate to hire them again. They paint everything beautifully, taking care to remove blinds and drapes, covering all furniture and floors and then putting everything back in place and clean up. TOTAL disappointment!! I worked with Platinum Painting sales rep Tim Ellett on having several rooms in my house painted with a washable kind of paint. Washability was the most important element for us as we have our young nieces and nephews frequently come over to visit. I have emphasized it several time during our cost estimate discussion and the rep made the recommendation to go with the Cashmere type of paint for its washability and durability, an upgrade from other type of paint. While Technicians were painting, I noticed that the paint is clearly not washable, I asked the Technicians if the type of paint applied is washable and they all said, it is not because it is "flat". The supervisor asked all Technicians to stop working to call and check with Platinum Painting sales rep Tim Ellett. We discussed on the phone and Tim continued to ensure its washability and asked the Technicians to continue their work. A few day later, after all work is done, I went to Sherwin Williams to confirm the washability of the Cashmere/Flat type of paint that was used in my house. I showed them the labels on the container and unfortunately all staff confirmed that the type of paint (Flat) purchased by Tim and used is definitely not washable. The Low Luster (satin) or Medium Luster (semi-gloss) should have been the choice instead. They also confirm that Tim should have bought the Emerald or Duration (Satin or Semi-Gloss) for their excellent durability and washability. Tim gratefully offered me the solution to call whenever I am faced with a cleaning challenge but I don't think this is a convenient solution, nevertheless, it is not what I wanted. So beware of vague contracts, false upgrade claims with higher prices and check with the paint store yourself. Those so called paint experts you trust are not always the case. So BEWARE!!!!! I hired Platinum Painting to repair wood and paint the exterior of our home. The person that came out to give, Raul, was good and likable. However when the crew showed up it was a different story. They lasted about 45 minutes and we had had enough. My wife was at home alone and told them to knock if they needed something. They entered the house and opened the garage door. When my wife saw the door open and asked they said it opened by itself. The also managed to pop the breaker that the internet equipment was connected to. I called Raul and asked him to figure out what was going on and he called me and said the crew was not comfortable continuing the job! I could have sworn that I was the customer! I told Raul to please cover any openings they have made before leaving, they did not. They did not even contact me to try and resolve the issue. Luckily I found a great paint contractor that came out and did the job right away, for $1000 less! This company has good reviews but that was not my experience. read more

I chose this company for gutter replacement and painting the exterior of my house because they had good reviews and the estimate that I got was reasonable based on others I had gotten. Rod Bohl was my project manager. I ended up cancelling them on the very first day they were supposed to start the work. Rod had told me the crew was supposed to remove the gutters at 8am one day. At 8:30am they had not come so I texted Rod. He didn't even know they hadn't shown. Then he texted that they would come at 11am. They never came. Turns out the schedule had changed due to the possibility of rain, however, Rod didn't know that until the next day and he never checked on whether or not they had come. He did not know what was going on with my project and I expect that of a project manager. I knew after that I would not be able to trust him or the company to do what they said they were going to do. It is unacceptable in my book to leave a customer not knowing what is going to happen and when. I do not recommend this company. read more
