This Plato's closet is right around the corner from my house but they never fail to disappoint me. This is why I prefer one in Cary! They were supped to be open at 10:00 it's now 10:15 almost 10:20 and the store is still not open with people waiting outside. I've been waiting in my car for them to open up and it's disappointing to have to wait 20 minutes after 10 for them to open up. do you open at 10 or get here at 10? read more

Really great service and sweet store associates if you are shopping!! Selection varies; could be that good things go quickly . If you are selling, definitely call before you come and know that they will not pay you a lot for your clothes (offered me for $3 for something I bought from them with the tag still on for $15). read more

This Plato's has the ugliest clothes. They have north face jackets from mid 2000's, shirts that are stretched out and faded, old dusty bags. If you wear a size 10 shoe in women's forget it- selection is garbage. read more

I work at a Plato's Closet in San Francisco Bay Area so I enjoy looking at different Plato's Closets around the country since they all have different demographics so therefore different products and they are all independently owned. I visited a few different Plato's Closets in Raleigh area while I was visiting and this one was my favorite! Plato's Closet Brier Creek has really friendly staff and this store was organized and neat. Everything was easy to find and I don't know how but I think I spent two hours in this store. They have a great selection of high end items and overall just had a lot of cute items in this store. Also I loved the displays; it brings it to a cute boutique level which I feel like other Plato's don't have. Definitely visit if you're in the area! read more

Plato's Closet stores can be hit or miss, and I think this one's a hit! If you're going to buy used clothes, you want them to be in great condition and reasonably priced. This store does not have quite as big of a collection as others, but the content is of higher quality than most. Today I bought 3 dresses (great brands), a Steve Madden purse, and a blouse. Altogether, it was only around $50! They also have a punch card system which rewards you with various offers and deals based off of the amount you spend. The staff was quiet at first, but once I started chatting with the store manager, I realized how kind and friendly they all are. I will for SURE be coming back! read more

I DO NOT recommend this location at all!!!! If I could give this store less than a star I would. The employees and so called "managers" are all under the age of 18 and are extremely unprofessional (including vulgar huge oversized tshirts and tight biker shorts that are so short you can't see them under their shirts, and rude attitudes). They were also smoking a vape!!! They do not take clothes after 12pm apparently and when asked to talk to the manager, I'm unison they replied "we are"....how on earth is a 18 year old a manager?! There aren't any Plato's near me so I drove quite a distance to bring my clothes in to sell because they usually are convenient, only to see a sign on the door that they were no longer accepting buys. It was 6.5 hours before their closing time. Lugged a LOT of my clothes out here for no reason. Will be bringing my clothes to a local consignment store who won't pay me a rip-off price either. read more

This review is for the selling of clothes. This Plato's closet is conveniently located at Brier Creek. I walked in with a laundry basket full of clothes, and they excepted quite a bit. The cost for clothes was equivalent to other businesses like this. The staff there was extremely helpful and patient. The reason I took off one star, is because there is not a lot of room between the door and where you drop your clothes. And if there's a line it gets bunched up. Other than that it was a quick and easy process. I will give them 4 1/2 stars if I could. I look forward to doing this again. read more

Came here to sell. The girl in the front told me it will take 10 minutes so I decided to wait it out. 25 minutes passed by and I see girls working here talking and laughing, barely doing work, and I haven't heard anything back so I went up to the girl where I was told rudely that "yours is not ready" and received a lot of attitudes. I ended up leaving to run more errands and coming back. I have shopped and sold a lot at different Plato's Closets before, but this has been the most unpleasant and rude encounter I have experience. Horrible, came home and all of my jeans with tags were gone but they "passed" on everything.

I just went there with plus size clothes with tags still on them because I had lost a lot if weight.. So I decided to sell my clothes. They didn't even look at them they still folded like I had left them. The lady that worked at the store told me that they needed. Plus size clothes. I go back to the store to see how much I would get. The lady had the nerve 2 tell me they slightly used and a little dirty I almost cussed. DO NOT SHOP OR WORK AT PLATO'S CLOSET! Specifically the one in Brier Creek. I am not sure about the other ones though. As a customer, it was a below average experience. Not many things stood out and was not treated the best. They are extremely picky when you sell them clothes. They will pay you so little for a bunch of nice items but turn around and sell those items for at least triple the price they bought it from you. An example is I sold them a nice pair of Michael Kors sandals. They were barely worn and they gave me about $2-5 for them. And then, sold them for $15! Not happy about that. I would give them 0 stars if I could. As an employee, it was pretty much a horrible experience. They are liars and never tell you about anything. Even if it is important information about your paycheck!! They also claim to work with your schedule, especially if you are in school. Never got that. I got jerked around with texts and calls the day of asking me to drop whatever I am doing to come in to work to get paid barely above minimum wage. You are not treated equally, honestly, and is demeaned on a regular basis. So glad I quit the job so I can move on to a job that treats me right. The manager and owner are petty and rude people who are just in it for the money and power over young people. Never thought I would have that experience. I tried my best as an employee and a person to be optimistic. It was very hard because things gradually got worse. It would start with maybe some snarky comments about you doing something incorrectly. And then it would escalate to just being treated like dog crap. I was not even trained. And then they expected me to train someone else on command and work. It made my usual work process a bit slower because I was trying to actually help my new coworker. But later, I found out I "did it all wrong" right before closing. I was told I had to stay until 3 boxes of clothing was hung up and put out onto the floor. The expectations for certain things is ALL OVER THE PLACE. I am just disappointed with the whole situation but glad I got out of it sooner rather than later. read more

I drove 30 minutes to get to this Plato's closet and brought three trash bags of clothes into today. After waiting 45 minutes for them to " look through my items" they told me that they were not going to take any of my items because they were "worn and too basic". I just got Home and started looking through the bags to pick out items to give to friends before I donate them, and right as I opened the bags I noticed how all of the clothes that I folded and put into the bags was exactly the same. I have taken clothes to this location about two weeks ago and received my items back all jumbled around and they did buy some things form me then. Whereas this time it was very clear that they did not even take the time to go through any of my three bags. I know that they do not fold clothes as they go through them which is fine, but it is obvious that they would not take the time to fold my three trash bags worth of clothes and then give it all back to me if they actually looked through it. I had over 10 items that still had tags on them and several namebrand items in like-new condition yet apparently it was "too worn or too basic for them." I would have preferred if they would have told me when I walked in that they are not taking any more items at the moment rather than waste my time and gas driving out there to not even have my clothes and jewelry looked at. Also the clothes and jewelry they are reselling is very old and out of style, so it makes sense why they wouldn't take clothes that are currently in style. Plato's Closet in Brier Creek is a great place to shop for quality items, good labels like Nike, Vineyard Vines, Kate Spade at an affordable price. I discovered Plato's closet when my daughter was in middle school and she wanted to wear brand name clothes and have been going there every since! We love shopping at Plato's Closet at Brier Creek because the store manager and her staff are always friendly and helpful and the inventory is fresh with the displays updated frequently. Its like a new experience each time we walk in. I don't feel like I am getting poorly used clothes here, but rather "Terrific Finds" at great prices! To be sure, not all Platos Closets are the same. We stopped at the one near Triangle Town Center and were really disappointed, such trash there. Never went back Gosh, I'd hate to let the secret out because I love to shop at P.C. at Brier Creek, and would not want to have my favorite finds grabbed up before I got there, but we appreciate Alyson and her staff so much we wanted to give them much deserved recognition! I would give 0 stars if I could. First off, I am a regular shopper here and what drew me there today is that they sent me a coupon which I thought was very nice. I went in today, and I could hear the employees in the back ground behind the counter complaining about management, saying the owner or whoever's in charge doesn't trust the management and so on... they were not quiet about it at all. I kindly asked for a fitting room, and the short, dark skinned girl who was a little heavy set never turned around, she tossed some pants on the counter and walked right passed me and angrily opened the fitting room door. As a person who used to work and manage in retail, I understand the adversities that come with it. But you DO NOT take it out on customers who are risking COVID coming into the store to shop. She was completely rude and disrespectful. I won't be coming again as there are closer locations. read more

I love this Plato's Closet. It is the best one in the Triangle by a country mile. Even though I'm no longer a teenager (which is the age group this store caters to the most), I have had success buying and selling items at this store. I've found a few hidden gems here! The quality of items that they buy and sell is significantly better than the Cary, Southpoint and Triangle Town Center locations. My only issues with this store are they ALWAYS underestimate the time it takes to go through your items. They always say "15-20 minutes" and it typically takes 30-45, even when I'm the first one in the store. I'd rather them overestimate and be pleasantly surprised when it's done early. Also, the girls who do the buying spend an awful lot of time commenting on the clothes ("this is cute," "I like this," "I'm going to buy this for myself!") which I find unprofessional. Luckily, I've come to expect these things so they won't stop me from coming back. read more

One of the staff member just hung out at the counter on her cell phone & as I went up to the counter and asked for help she didn't even look up at me or acknowledge I was even standing there. Upon walking in, everyone was greeted by he most professional, attentive individual. I found out her name was Alyson, and she was the store manager. She was by far he best store manager at ANY retail store that I've ever been to. She commented on everyone's style, made sure to see if you were interested to selling to them. She seemed to genuinely care about my purchases. She did this with every customer who was walked in the door. She was outstanding and deserves praise and recognition. Worst service ever! The girl I dropped my clothes off with he a nasty attitude with me beforehand, I kinda thought it would be a bias outcome going in. Keep in mind this is my first experience selling items to them, I even informed her of that as well. I come back a hour later as asked... They tell me the person who went through my items declared my two huge bins are too damaged and not fit to sell. Might I remind you she is the one who didn't have the best attitude going in, also may I add that 75% of my items had tags on them and as far as the shoes, no wear.. Brand new! I felt when I picked up the only reasons they could give was damaged? Really? That's just petty. I could understand if they said something like dated merchandise or something to that effect.. Never again. I will go out of my way to another platos verses stepping back into this location again! read more
