I have come here a handful of times, and have never been successful at selling anything, and not to be biased but I like to think that I have nice clothes in very good condition. This time I approached it differently and had little hope for a different experience, however, I was let down once again. I cleaned out three of my closets at home and nicely folded them into two laundry bins to bring here and upon pick up I was told they were able to keep only 5 items and I would receive $11. BAFFLED. Whats even more irritating is when the guy who dumped all of my other items into the donation pile he picked up one of my shirts and said, "aw this is so cute!". Like do these people even look at the clothes being brought here? I know for a fact that a lot of those clothes were sellable. I was also told that they don't give out slips for donating clothes... When in fact, I have received one every time I've gone into this location. SO ANNOYING and officially never going back to any Plato's Closet location. What a waste of my time. Goodwill it is!

This location has some of the best brands! From Nike, adidas to Lululemon, the clothes are in top shape and affordable pricing with the recession going on

They bought a tub full from me!

Since I had some men's name brand clothes and shoes, I thought I would check out Plato's Closet and see if I could get some $ for it.

Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. I'll keep giving it another chance because Clotheshorse has been one of my favorite Dallas shopping destinations for a very long time.

The first time I came to this location, I went into the store portion. I was greeted politely and directed around the corner to the back, where the appraiser is located. That day, my interaction with that lady was uncomfortable. She had a condescending tone and a bad attitude. She even said one of my items was "jacked" and refused to take it. Overall, it felt like my presence was an inconvenience for her. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person.

With that in mind, the Plano Antique Mall was just meh. The flow of the store is interesting, no one greeted me when I entered-they just looked cranky. Three staff members passed me while I was shopping and not one smiled or greeted even though I smiled at them. Zero customer service. Many of the booths were great and well displayed. BUT so many were so overpacked it looked like one of those East Texas yard sales where the stuff is left in the yard 24/7. The booths have so much potential. This company should assist vendors in displaying items. 5,000 items will not fit in a space meant for 500 (slight exaggeration to make a point). It is ok to display some items and then switch out seasonally! Some booths were so chaotic and full that you couldn't even walk into them to shop. I didn't buy anything on this trip. Pros-lots to shop and look at. You never know if there is a treasure that you need. Cons-uninterested staff. So many messy, garage sale looking booths which made me lose interest pretty fast.

There were some great finds and solid deals throughout the booths. I was surprised that all the booths were unmanned, but it actually made browsing more relaxing since you could take your time looking at items and prices. Really fun spot to explore. I've heard their parking lot sales are great too, so I'll try to make it to the one in April!

So for me it won't be in my rotation BUT I brought a friend with me and she found some great J crew pieces. Both times the owner was extremely nice and the staff was great as well. I loved the touch of them asking your name and writing it on your dressing room and they take your pieces and hang them up so you don't have to lug them all around, THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They even brought us some pieces they thought fit our style. Price: This is boutique style pricing, think about $20 for Nike workout shorts. About $30 for dress. I would not say thrifty prices comma I would say reasonably priced for the most part. If you like curated brand names , you are likely to find something here!

I wouldn't even sell that at a garage sale. The main beef I have on all goodwills but particularly this one is their no-refund policy on electronics. I bought an acer predator xb323u computer monitor for $150. Ok so I'm an idiot. I tried to talk to manager and price it down because it may not work properly. I tested it at the store the best I could but although it's a high-end monitor, the only options it had for its button menus was source and sound. I couldn't get a test pattern no matter what I did. I looked online and saw it was $545. So, despite my better judgement, I bought it. I was finally able to test it at home with a firestick and ugh, there's a black light display problem like a triangle that's like 2 inches long like someone blasted the low left side of bevel. Anyways, I'm screwed, there's no return policy and it's not worth fixing. So, circle back, I'm trying hard to be helpful, never buy any electronics you can't test thoroughly. Remember, all this was free to Goodwill, so if you're screwed, it's no concern to them. I also bought a stereo receiver. I tested and it worked properly at store, got home and all it does is power cycle. Crap shoot

Inside the store, the merchandise is well organized by type and it's easy to see the prices. Unfortunately, many of the prices seem high to me for used/out of style merchandise. The main reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 3 or more stars is that they don't have fitting rooms to try on clothes. The majority of the store is clothing racks. They also do not accept returns, so I can't buy clothes to take home to try on there and return the stuff that doesn't fit. I can't buy clothes this way.
