This is one of the most cleanest and organized Plato's closets I've ever been to! They had a huge selection of shorts, skirts, pants, shirts, tank tops , dresses and active wear. The floors were clean there were not clothes all over the place or off hangers. Several times an employee asked me if I needed help and then asked others if they wanted their things held for them while they shopped . They even had a bathroom in the back which is rare for a Plato's. The only thing that I had an issue with was that there was a manger and another associate standing at the counter and several people in line , there were two registered and only one worker was there working the registers. I've had this happen several times where for some reason, the workers are a line of people and they just ignore the line . Is your conversation or job so important at that money that you look at the people in line and ignore them? I also had a skirt I presented to the register that was missing several buttons and they only gave me 15% off. That item shouldn't have even made it on the sales floor. Definitely some pros and cons to this location but I will give that the place is clean and the people who helped us were nice , but please, if you see people in line , attend to them , don't ignore them. read more

I brought in 15 pairs of gently used jeans, including some Levi's purchased just last year, along with 12 shirts and sweaters, only to be told, "You have a lot of good brands, but we're not interested." When I asked why, the employee said they only want straight-leg jeans, not skinny. I even showed her the Levi's from last year, which are straight leg, and she dismissed them because they were "not within the last 2 years." It felt like a complete waste of time. She didn't even bother going through everything I brought in and seemed uninterested in doing her job. Then she had the nerve to say, "Keep bringing in the good brands." I won't be back -- the reasoning she gave for not accepting anything was clearly false, and the entire experience was frustrating. read more

Dropped of clothes to sell today around 11:30, wasn't busy and was told 30-35 minutes to go through my things..ended up waiting almost 2 hours for a text that my clothes were ready, which I finally received at 1:20, I understand they are estimating the time but I was left with more than an hour and a half of unexpected waiting. Store manager, Angel, was less than an Angel to this customer!!!!!!!! I had a sensor left on a shirt from a location 1.5 hours away from me (an honest mistake). She REFUSED to take off the sensor even though I had the receipt for the item. She replied in a beyond rude tone, "I'd get in big trouble with my owner." I had to get on the phone with the store manager from the Portage location saying she's taken sensors off from ANGEL'S location. Angel finally took off the sensor, after saying some choice words to me. As a store manager myself, I will NOT be shopping at this location again. I hope this comment gets back to the owner, as they should take a hard look at the people who are running their stores. I will never again go to this place. I brought in a huge trash bag and a box full of wonderful clothes that are not "out of style" or season. But regardless I brought my clothes in there (maybe 100 items) and waited a half hour just for these girls to pick out 4 items!!!! 4???? And before she even told me how many they picked out she started by telling me how "great" my clothes were and they were so happy with everything I brought in.. but only picked 4 items because they are "picky." Don't lie to me and tell me you loved my clothes.. Ok people I advice you to not bring your clothes here. Terrible. The place smells worse than a locker room. The girl who helped me had her name tag on upside down then proceeded to tell me about all the items they do take talking a mile a minute. They didn't take any of my clothes... even brand names like north face, Under Armour and Nike! They were size large and the girl said they don't take that big of size... so basically that store is for middle school children. I got my clothes back and they were tossed in the tote. I just recently purchased a pair of Nike shoes from them that have an air unit in the bottom of the shoe. The shoe that was on display was in good condition, I tried it on and liked it so I decided to purchase them. They brought out the second shoe and it looked good so I purchased them and went home. When I got home and put them both on, I discovered that the second shoe's air unit was popped. They had put the good shoe on display and hidden the bad one in the back. When I went back to try and return them they told me I was supposed to try them on before I bought them and make sure I liked them. Maybe I just assumed that they wouldn't sell them if they were broken? They said I could sell them back for a 3rd of what I bought them for... just so they could scam someone else? This was quite a frustrating situation, and the staff wasn't very understanding. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I've been here a few times and it's the same. Claustrophobic and cramped aisles. This place would be a lot better if they expanded or moved to a different building. I called ahead and asked if they bought uggs. Lady on the phone said they sell well, so I brought them in along with a pair of flats and strappy sandal/flats I was done with. All three pairs in almost new condition. Within 5 minutes they were done. They were not interested in any of it. The lady that gave me my items back needs some help with customer service- she was quite rude. Apparently my flats were "too basic", she "didn't even know what these are" in reference to my sandals and "uggs don't sell". Even though I called them to ask if I should even bother bringing in my uggs. Was not happy. Felt like they said yes to the uggs over the phone as a lure to get me to visit. I looked around while waiting and did not see anything that was worth my time to try on. Everything was expensive. I have a classic style and the vast majority of the stuff they had I would never buy. Also, the store stinks. Needs an air freshener and they should probably invest in a washing machine. Too many items on the racks too. Felt very disorganized. My opinion is that "fast fashion" is what they are interested in and not clothing that will be sustainable. (therefore contributing to the landfill issue, pollution and exploitation that "fast fashion" causes). Had not visited this store in years and I will not be back again. Waste of time. read more

Selection on clothing is great, and prices are pretty reasonable. They rarely carry my awkward size though, I have a small torso and a large chest. I'm not a plus size, and I'm not petite either. Getting help trying to find something was difficult, because the girls working there seemed more interested in chatting with their friends that were trying clothes on. My sister came in with a stack of jeans, most of them still with tags on-- birthday gifts that she couldn't return to the original store without a receipt. They refused almost every pair, because they had holes in them. I guess they've never seen the "stylishly worn" jeans. My sister had only tried them on, before finding that they were too short in the legs. So as far as buying clothing that is "gently used", it turns out that it also depends on who's on shift. I've been in here twice, and neither experience makes me want to come back. read more

Dropped off a basket of clothing to sell, was given no estimated time so we left and came back 2.5 hours later. They apologized that that worker was new, promised it would be done in 30 mins. Left for 1.5 hours and came back to it still not being done, they then told me THAT person was new too and told me "we'll text you when its done"... two days later i still had no text. Went back and though it was done they told me items cant be left overnight. Awful service, the amount they pay out is not worth the gas to go back and forth 6 times. Waited an entire hour, the last 20 minutes looking clearly irritated, looking at employees in the store waiting for them. Eventually went to the counter myself asking what was going on and turns out they had been done for a while. Zero indication they had finished going through everything. This place is a complete rip off. They offered 25 dollars to bag of things with tags attached all high brand. The bag itself contained probably 5 items that would normally 350. They're lucky I needed to clean out my closet but no one should shop here. They also never put the dust bag back on an MK they didn't buy. They claim to buy clothes however they really don't. It's up to the discretion of these workers who clearly don't have any fashion sense. While waiting for them to look through the clothes I brought in I was browsing their selection and it was TERRIBLE. They had some of the ugliest shirts I had ever seen. Anything from hideous plaid patterns to MOSSIMO, which is basically targets cheap brand but rejected good brands like Express and Abercrombie and Fitch. LOL I put all the clothes they had rejected in a local friends garage sale at prices they would have bought them from me at and they all sold in a day. This is probably my 5th time trying to sell them my clothes and they always offer me under $10. I always bring in great used quality clothes, but they are not interested for some reason. It's just ridiculous when I walk around, while waiting to get my stuff checked out, and I see a lot of hideous clothes and shoes they have. Last week I brought in sweaters and sweatshirts and they told me it wasn't the type of season clothes they were looking for. So today, I went in with a bunch of spring/summer clothes they have asked, and they gave me $9 bucks for 5 shirts!!? What wasn't fair at all was that this lady came in after me with a bunch of sweatshirts and they offered her $45?! This place sucks and I wouldn't recommend selling your items here. This place is a joke. They claim to "buy and sell gently used clothes", they need to add "if you're dressed cute when you come in and all purchasing is at the discretion of the personal tastes of the person evaluating your clothes." I have been to this store three times selling. The first time I was dressed in my very comfortable Saturday clothes, no make-up and hair in ponytail. They rejected everything I have them saying it "wasn't current styles" the clothes were literally things purchased 2 weeks before at Charlotte Russe. I had taken the tags off and couldn't returned them. The girls that work in these stores need to brush up on their fashion magazines and see what is actually in style. I can't tell you the number of faded, shrunken, hideous clothes they do buy but won't buy actual current fashion from someone over 25. As a test I had my neighbors teen daughter take my clothes in the next day a they offered to buy them all! The selection is ridiculous. The store is not filled with "today's latest fashions" it is filled with the girl behind the counter making minimum wage's personal choice, personal wardrobe, or her friends rejected clothes. And as far as today's name brands - I saw three shirts by Union Bay! You know the JCPenny brand that hit it's peak in 1995? This place is a joke. read more

I normally don't write reviews, because when I recieve poor service from a business, I simply choose to spend my money elsewhere and never look back. I've bought and sold clothes from this location a couple years ago with no problem. I moved recently and had a chance to clean out my closet, so I figured I would see what I could get rid of, since this location is fairly close to me. I honestly don't think the girl that was "helping" (if you can call it that) us smiled or made eye contact with us once. I brought in a large bin of clothes that most of which, had only been worn once or twice, (some of which still had the store tags on) not that this girl would be able to tell, since she literally picked up probably two pieces of clothing and tossed the whole bin to the side. She then proceeded to select only the shoes that I brought in their origional boxes out of the boxes and GAVE THE BOXES BACK TO ME TO THROW AWAY. Are you kidding me? What retail store have you EVER been to that gives you their trash to throw away? I honestly couldnt believe it. You want to buy these shoes from me but can't be bothered to crush and throw away the boxes you literally JUST took them out of? This girl must have known someone important to get hired here, because she lacked any and all customer service skills. I have perviously been in a retail management position for years and I would honestly be embarassed if an employee acted as incompetent as this girl is.. this person is a face for your store and you choose to let her treat potentially paying customers in this manner? What a joke. Not very happy. I brought in a large basket of name brand clothing from Holister, Areopostle, and American Eagle. Now, when you go on the website, these are the brands they want to receive. When I went in, I had to stay in store as they went through my basket. I was in the store for a good 25 minutes, and they only took 5 phone cases. I got a a dollar for each of them. Not only did they not take any clothes, they did not refold any of them and I was left with a trashed basket and now have to refold them all. This is very inconsiderate because they request a neat basket when you bring it in, and they leave it trashed. Will not be returning here. read more

They most likely won't buy your Nike tops or Miss Me jeans if there is a minor detail that says it's been worn once before, but they probably will buy your ugly cheetah print top with rainbow feathers that you wore in 6th grade because they want detail. I understand there are rules to follow when buying clothes as far as what can be bought and whats trending, but the things I try to sell them and what is on their shelves sometimes just don't make sense.
