So I called before going to sell my daughters clothes to find out what they were buying back. I was told fall attire. Cool, then I asked if it had to be name brand and was told no. So, please tell me why they didn't mention they would only accept one (1) 13 gal trash bag of items! To make things worse they had five (5) employees working and only one (1) sorting bags for the buys. The others were on their cellphones and having idle conversations with each other. One (1) young lady was playing with her belly button while on the phone! The customer service here is awful. So sad because the concept of this place is a money maker. I visited this store today and dropped off 1 bag of clothing and 1 bag of shoes to sell. They took my information but didn't give me an estimated time of completion. I came back less than 2hrs later and was told they couldn't find my bag of clothes and that they must have been sent out with donations. I ask where is that, I'm told "I don't know". Everyone moves on as if it's no big deal. The "store manager" checks the computer and says they never even inputted my information into the system. So I'm asking what's the recourse in this situation and she looks at me blankly. After some back and forth she suggests 20% off an in-store purchase. I ask for the owners information and she directs me to the Plato's website. I feel like this situation was not handled properly at all. How do you just lose someone's items and have no solution for them??? I brought in a lot of bake brand items and items that still had tags on them and I'm just shrugged at about my items being given away. I could see if I didn't come back in time but I was back within 2hrs. There's no excuse for how this was handled or the lack of care and concern that was given to me after losing my items read more

Very rude people. Will be going to a different location. The young women glared at me, smacking their gum, as though they were looking down on me. They offered no assistance and acted like they had no clue what they were doing as I stood with a heavy bag. They first told me they would accept two bags, then proceeded to reject my second bag as soon as I brought it in. They rejected my clothing which is in top condition, including my expensive brand items. Each one seemed very displeased to be at work and showed lethargy and indifference. I hope these employees get a lesson in manners and workmanship or get fired. read more

I like Plato's closet, I really do. They have good deals and fun clothes. However I tried to sell clothes here recently, and it was a disaster. They said it would take 20-30 min, it was an hour and 15 min before we were called to the counter. I never saw them go through the clothes in that time frame and they said they did not wanna buy anything from us. I'm not mad about them not buying anything, I am mad about how rude and passive aggressive the employee was to us. Been here before many times and employees were always an issue but after this I won't be going back! read more

Well how do I start this off? I would've gave them five stars, but the fashionista dude who was in there that day seem to know women's fashion better than I do. I took a few pieces in so I could get a little extra cash because I was taking a trip. He told me give them thirty minutes because it was people there before me. I looked around, as I'm looking through the clothes I see some clothes in there by Faded Glory which is a Walmart brand....I said hmm ok. To make a long story short, they didn't call me up to the register in thirty minutes, I had to go up there. The cashier who who seemed lost af gone tell me he said my clothes was out of style??? Huh??? Wait what???? Ralph Lauren out of style? Two pair of BRAND NEW Ashley Stewart high waisted skinny jeans out of style? A pair of knee high boots worn only twice??? And there are Walmart clothes hanging on the rack? Pointy toed suede boots that look like a sixty year woman brought there? A sweatshirt with pig faces on it? Not to mention some clothes that had tears in them.....man I was like he got some nerve. Needless to say. I took my s*** uploaded pics to my Poshmark page and sold my jeans. Plato's closet really tried it that day! I did wind up buying me a sexy cute dress and a pair of snake skin pants with solid yellow stripes going down both legs. The employees are rude and don't care about customer service. Plato's Closet is a business of servicing customers if I were the owner I would seek new employees. The short-haired blonde employee didn't even give me a chance to show what I had. She immediately said ", if those are suits, we don't take that we are for teens." Thing is I had more than suits I had sundresses, rompers, shorts, and more than matched the website's description. There were all these signs regarding theft that looked unprofessional. I hate this location. There is so much clutter and when it comes to selling, there is one girl that you do NOT want her to go through your stuff. She says no to everything. Most of the clothes on the racks are torn, out of style, stained or just plain ghetto looking. I always bring my clothes in clean and nicely folded and they rummage through them, take out barely a few things and then throw it all back in a bag. I mean, obviously they want you to look around while they're going through your stuff so you can buy something and they can make even more money off you, but there is nothing to look at. This location gives Plato's Closet a bad name. read more

I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews because all the associates were extremely helpful and pleasant! First time here in GA. I've visited the chain back home in So Cal. Neat store. Variety of items for women, actually a majority of the store. They do have fitting rooms. I'll definitely be back to visit. They ID for purchases and sales if I'm not mistaken I read that on a sign. read more

The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a Plato's Closet! I frequently sell with Plato's in South Carolina and have always had wonderful experiences. Friendly staff. Place smells gross...like straight up body odor. But it is used clothes. I took name brand stuff here like Coach and Michael khors. They only took the MK bag. They don't take coach anymore. Whatever. Sold $400 worth of stuff for $31.46...sigh....next time I'm going on ebay and selling. Their store was very crowded so don't go on a Saturday. I am on a budget and I wanted to new clothes of the summer. My cousin brought me here. I was iffy about it at first because it was second hand clothing, but as soon as I stepped in, I forgot all about it. The place is very bright and inviting and everything is in order and not as chaotic as Marshalls or TJMaxx. They only take in name brand clothes so you're not going to get clothes that somebody's grandma made. The best part about Plato's that it is dirt cheap. I got dresses for $6-$8 and Shirts/blouses of $3-$5. When I wear the clothes out, I got compliments and everybody thinks I spent alot of money. I'm a fan and a regular. read more

GHETTO ! I waited for over an hour to be called and I believe my items were ready way before then. They never wrote my name on the board or said anything when it was time to check out. I wasn't even shopping, just sitting there so it was obvious what I was there for. Once upon a time, I was a huge Platos Closet fanatic. This location in particular has noticeably fallen off in recent times. I only come when I want to get rid of a few things and need a few bucks (because that's literally all you'll get). Customer service is hit or miss, more often the latter. Employees at the counter are usually more caught up in their own personal conversations than customers. The clothes are usually shabby and I'm not sure how they let most of them onto the racks. The only saving grace are the few genuine employees there that are extremely helpful. read more
