-1 star. I wouldn't even give this Plato's closet a star. I have never wrote a yelp review, because quiet frankly I don't have the time and have never really cared enough to make a comment on an issue. I've gone to a couple Plato's closets before but this one in particular two younger girls were at the counter, on their phones talking for a whole minute before they said anything to me while I was awkwardly standing there with my bags to drop off. They didn't have a very welcoming attitude. For someone who avoids going anywhere most of the time and has very bad social anxiety that made me so uncomfortable! They continued talking while one of them was "helping" me with my drop off. When I came back to pick it up. They took several items and definitely lowballed me in my opinion compared to other Plato's closets I've taken my clothes to, but who cares? It's Plato's closet and I should've taken my clothes somewhere nicer or donated them. They went through my bags and just through everything back in there all messy, when I personally dropped it off nicely folded. Overall I don't think they had very friendly customer service attitudes and do a bullshit job. Didn't even seem like they want to be there. Never selling to Plato's closet again. If you own decently nice clothes you're trying to resell, take them somewhere else. You could get better money and way better customer service. read more

So I took a few bags of clothes. Good clothes. They didn't take any of it because they that it was poor condition as if they don't sell old rags. The selection at this Plato's Closet is average. You can't find much business attire or something that is more mature than what is in stock. Most of the brands are Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, Hollister, Forever 21, DC, Volcom,etc. Sometimes i find pieces I want to add to my closet,but it is rare. The brands are more suitable for teenagers,so anyone above that will most likely not find anything. read more

The girls here are super sweet! The store is very clean and well maintained. They clothing is nicely hung and organized. They have a million pairs of Miss Me jeans which is super helpful for rodeo time. Customers are quiet and mind their own business and do their own shopping. The buy was quick and efficient! She had me in and out in 15 minutes! Great service. I will be selling all of my stuff at this location from now on. read more

We came back the next day (because they told us to) to find that they put out all the clothes back out on the rack and they were all gone. When the girl told us this she didn't say sorry or anything. I received the worst customer service ever in my life from this place yesterday. I was waiting to checkout and the 3 girls sitting behind the counter gossiping, sipping sonic drinks that probably contained alcohol, and EATING completely ignored me. After about 5 minutes I left. A girl had been checking customers out (there was a line) when it was my turn the girl literally just walked away and went to eat her snacks and chill with her friends like I wasn't even there. I am appalled. I will never be returning to this trashy store. What a disappointment. This store has severely gone down hill. I walked in expecting to get greeted and instead found 5 employees standing behind the counter acting like teenagers, cursing and acting like idiots. I ignored it and started to casually browse around hoping to find a few good deals but only found over priced items that looked so old and outdated. Absolutely disgusted with this place. I brought in one of those huge clear plastic tubs OVERFLOWING with clothes. NAME BRAND clothes, of ALL varieties. Some of which I had actually purchased from this exact location. The guy that looked through my stuff did so for maybe 5 minutes, which it would have been humanly impossible to look through every single piece I brought with how much was in there, as I previously just described. I will never bring in another thing to sell here for as long as I live. 100% total waste of my time preparing everything only to be told they weren't taking A SINGLE THING because it "wasn't in style and most likely wouldn't sell". I'm 18 years old y'all. These clothes have been purchased within the last 3 years and I assure you, they're not even slightly ugly!!! Who the heck do they think they are?!?! What a horrible place to sell your used goods, they only give $2 for authentic baseball caps.

I was shocked as to what kind of workers this company hires. While waiting for my clothes to be looked at & purchased, two workers sat next to me and proceeded to talk about everything kind of illegal drugs they've done and which they liked best. This went on for 25+ minutes. I don't know how they got away with this while on the clock. I brought in 3 bags of clothing. The store only purchased 5 items. The next day I took my clothes to a different Plato's which took 21 items from me. Needless to say I will not be visiting this location any longer. read more

Went in here today 8/9/17 about 4:00pm and everything was a mess. I found a top and went up to register to check out. Stood there in front of a worker who was on her phone. She finally looked up after about 30 seconds and said are you wanting to check out. I told her yes, she put her phone down, pressed two things on computer, then set my top down picked her phone up and then replied to another text message she got. After her texting again for about another 60 seconds she said okay let me get you out of here. Terrible service! She was wearing a longhorn tshirt and had brown hair. Soooooo. ...... I brought 3 bags of women's clothes. Some used, some newish, some new with tags. They bought nothing. There was xxi, Aeropostale, banana republic, Abercrombie and other of these kinds of brands. I thought for sure they would at least buy the ones with the tags still on them.....nope. The reasons why are so dumb.....so dumb....Like really dumb. Wasted an hour or two. "We don't want to purchase anything representing any other brand" ???? Really? The staff that works here is always excited to work and very helpful, they always greet me when I walk in and tell me to have a nice day on my way out. I enjoy the cleanliness of the store, most resale shops are a mess, and all merchandise displayed is appropriate for season and fashion. i love plato's closet as a company and they have many nice locations however i avoid this one even though it's closest to me. every time i come the store is unorganized, staff is rude and often have bad attitudes. tonight i called at 7:00 to ask what time is the latest they were taking clothes. i spoke with nia or niya on the phone and she told me 8:00. when i got to the store only about 20-25 minutes later, nia was at the front counter and told me they were not accepting donations anymore. i told her that i was the one who called and asked on the phone and she said 8:00. she very impolitely said "i'm the manager and i'm not taking any more donations because then i won't be able to get off on time". they close at 9. i get it. i've worked retail as a teenager and i understand just wanting to go home HOWEVER that's why i called and asked when is the latest i can come!! and it's not like i arrived right before 8 either it was 7:25!!! i came right after i called, and wasted my time and gas just to be given attitude and 0 sympathy/apology whatever. anyways that was my last straw with this location. i hope they can find some more decent employees to hire in the future. read more

Wow this store in Katy Texas is awful. They are not organized at all they are racist they are rude. MI went yesterday to this store and brought lots of gently used clothes like skinny jeans, shorts, shoes, sandals, lots of teenager things and they said to wait about 3 hours so we drop them off and came back after 2 hours. They have not even seen the clothes they didnt even move the box!!!!! So we waited in the store for a while about 30 minutes we went to the front and checked if they have moved the box.....NO! SAME SPOT!!! so we waited about 45 minutes and went up there were 5 poeple up there. There was clothes and boxes everywhere everything was a mess but they still have not moved the box. So we asked how long they said 1 more hour so we waited and finally at the last minute they moved the box. She didnt even check the whole box she picked up the clothes from the bag and scanned and dumped it back in there. After like 8 minutes of her checking she said they can offer us 13 dollars for 5 items.!!!!!!!!!!! Those items were pretty and gently used. It's my own fault for even giving this place the time of day. They have the WORST customer service, they're only for themselves and definitely not for the customer. Half the time the stuff I have is worth a bunch of money, and the other half, not even a brand new pair of $100 heels are worth even $10. The clothes are based off what the employee likes, not off what is in style, or even in good condition. Walked in tonight at 8:35 to sell some clothes, mind you it was 6 pieces and a pair of sandals and the girl had already closed the registers. How is that possible when they check people out till 9? I'm honestly not even sure how they keep they're doors open. Like I said it's my own fault for even assuming I'd get even mediocre service here, but 5 minutes, really?! Plato's Closet is a treasure for the cost concious fashionista. I'm a cougar and a professional woman who's a size 6, so I find plenty and I typically leave happy. The help is very chatty (with each other) teen aged girls mostly, not very helpful. The Katy Freeway location has clothes rack to rack to rack, which makes it harder to find stuff. But considering what I get, the good outweighs the bad. I liked the Sugarland store much better. Less congested! read more

I honestly wish I could leave a rating of 0 stars. I have long been a loyal customer to all the Plato's all over Houston, and this store USED to be my favorite. However, the staff has completely turned over since winter 2012-2013. Where there used to be friendly, knowledgeable employees, there now are rude, incompetent brats. I used to LOVE shopping here as well as selling my clothes. I used to be given fair offers on my clothing from Urban Outfitters, Free People, Michael Kors, etc. Sadly, on my most recent visit to the store, I was rudely "greeted" by a young lady with dirty, greasy hair. At first I didn't think much of it, and shopped around the store as usual. After fewer than 5 minutes, I was called back up to the front, and was told that the store was only looking for teen clothes. LITERALLY ALL OF MY CLOTHING WAS FROM THE BRANDS MENTIONED ABOVE. I had fewer than 10 items all together, and I don't even think they actually looked through them. I was so insulted and embarrassed that I didn't even want to buy the 3 pairs of Miss Me jeans that I had found. All in all, this place is pretty awful now, if a girl named 'Karis' greets you, you might as well just leave at that point. read more

For those of you in the Katy area that are like me and love good deals for a great price, this is the place to shop. I was not a huge fan of Platos in the past. It was a bit overwhelming to shop to many things all over the place not enough name brand items just wasn't for me. I hadn't been to Platos in a while but recently my teenage son wanted to come sell his shoes so I came with him. Let me just tell you I was so impressed on how neat and organized this store had changed. They now have courteous employees that are always there to assist customers. Not only that, you can actually shop by size, color and everything is super easy to access. I came in last week looking for a baby shower dress and the selection was amazing, in and out with a beautiful dress for 8 bucks oh and my son scored some Koby 10s for 30 bucks! I also have to mention their new manager, I'm certain he had the authority to change the store from OK to a real retail store. He has a great team. Kudos to whom ever hired him. I have noticed the store is always busy as well. So if you're in the area you must come check them out, you won't be disappointed!
