Love this place! I am always greeted by the friendly staff and helped whenever I need something. Since the clothing is kind of random and would take hours to go through, I always ask the workers to help me if I'm looking for something specific. They are so nice and helpful and have gotten me the best fit for whatever I'm looking for if I ask them. I almost went to apply for a job there because I loved it so much but I received another offer before I had the chance. The clothes are cheap yet in awesome condition. Literally half of my closet is from platos. I would definitely recommend shopping here! read more

I have been buying and selling clothes at Plato's Closet for years and I have always been very happy with their service. They are fair about what they'll buy and their prices are great. We're lucky to have a Plato's Closet in this area. The store is always clean and the staff are always super friendly. Where else can you take your gently used name brand clothing and be handed cash that day? And remember, before you get an attitude if they *don't* buy your stuff, just remember... you didn't want it either. Be nice. read more

For this very reason I wish Yelp offered half stars...I would like to change my rating to 2.5 but don't have the option......Anyway, imagine my surprise when three months later, I received a very nice and well thought out response to my previous review. While I still probably won't return to being a Plato's Closet shopper again anytime soon, I did appreciate the owner's response to the issue I had at the store. I love the idea of this store as "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" is something I am striving to live out. The idea of taking gently worn clothing and making it accessible to a new owner is something I can totally support. The issue with this store lies in customer service and staff training, which I expect the owner has addressed after several reviews citing same. As for the issue with no public restroom....I absolutely understand the issue with shoplifters and DARN them for ruining things for the rest of us. But for someone waiting in the store with a six year old who has to GO NOW, I would like to think that the staff could make an exception. So, for the concept of the business and the owner's involvement I would give a higher rating. For the execution and staff training, not so much. But who knows, that may have improved. If I go back, I will make note of any improvements! read more

I understand that a store can't accept all items or they would make no money, but this place is overpriced for the items they sell. For a used pair of jeans they want $45, but I can buy them brand new for $60. I'm a retail manager and I know that Scott and his wife often times shop at my store and purchase clearance items for dollars and resell them for close to $18! The items they sell in their store are over washed, dingy and out of date! Especially the shirts. The girls who work there are rude and it takes forever for them to browse through the clothing. read more

Today was my first visit at this location and also at a Plato's Closet. I had a completely different experience than any of the people who had a bad or not so good experience at this location. I had a great experience! The staff was super friendly, polite and knowledgable. I explained it was my first time selling and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable about explaining the process to me. It was fast and easy! They bought every item I brought in! I brought in summer and winter items so they really do buy all seasons. I just moved here from Portland Oregon so a lot of my stuff was from Forever 21 which does not have a location in the Tri cities but they still purchased my items. I also had a lot of brands from Urban Outfitters, what I would call urban designer. Since there is not an Urban Outfitters anywhere near here I was not sure if those items would be purchased because I figured the staff would not know the brands but those items were purchased showing that the staff really knows what to look for! I would reccomend this location and will be going back to buy and to sell. read more

I went in there about ten minutes before closing. They notified me that they closed at 5, which was fine cause I was unaware. What was not fine with me was that I drove an hour to go there and they didn't bother telling me that they only ring purchases til 5pm, not a minute later. Had I known that information, I would've paid for the few items I wanted and left. When I asked if they were kidding, the employee verbatim said "No, the owner doesn't want us to ring anyone up after 5". So as a business owner, wouldn't you think to take care of your customer purchases, so you're not out the money? Or so the customer would return? There were only a few people in the store, but were told to return tomorrow. Just thought it was rude. "Hey, I know you're in here to spend money, but you're gonna have to come back tomorrow". Just shocked by their lack of professionalism this location has. Have never had a problem at any of the other ones I've shopped at. read more

Came into the store new to the area and was ignored and had to wait while staff dilly dallied around. Actually ran into a guy claiming to be the owner named Scott or something and he didn't seem to eager to help either, gave me a pompous self entitled feel. Needless to say not impressed won't recommend for the wife to take the kids there for school clothes. Waste of time. read more

I brought in 25+ pieces of in season clothing and some the season before, in perfect condition. They didn't accept anything expect for one piece of clothing for $2. I just took all my clothes with me home and sold all of my clothes online and made money there. So don't waste your time trying to sell your clothes there. read more

My mother and I drove an hour and 1/2 to check this place out. All I can say is what a joke. First they had 3 people working and no one in the store besides us. The young man who I might add was wearing a wedding ring and another young girl were flirting with each other and being so loud my mother and I couldn't even talk to each other. We asked questions about the clearance stuff and everyone told us a different answer it was so crazy. The prices are so high, I have no idea how they stay in business. As we were looking through the clothes the two loud mouth employees starting grabbing clothes and moving them some where else. I looked at them and said are you really going to move these clothes I'm looking through, they both laughed and replied, "yep", Then they went over to where my mother was and grabbed all the clothes where she was at. At that point we decided it was time to leave. We went up to the checkout counter to purchase a shirt and all three employees were standing up there. The two were still flirting and being so loud and acting as if we weren't even standing there. The third employee finally said hey maybe one of you can check them out since your not doing nothing. I will never come back to this place nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. read more
