This is a really big story, very clean and organized inside. They have a huge bar and sitting area at the back end of the store. Throughout the store they have sections of many different brands and their products, mostly supporting local KC vendors. Among different types of goods they had apparels, cards, accessories, cups, mugs, candies, chocolates, caps, coasters, posters, home candles and much more. The prices were little higher since these are local made goods, but they were excellent quality. We bought some chocolate bars and cards from the store. The staff members were very friendly, assisted us with a quick and easy checkout. read more

This is a lovely store on The Plaza. There's a wonderful coffee bar inside the front door. A great place to warm up from Christmas shopping and also do more of it. There is a great collection of local KC company offerings. Ball caps, Christopher Elbow chocolate, other Swiss chocolate, beer, wine and clothing galore, all made in KC. This place is a wonderland! I'm not much of a shopper, but I was impressed here. So many cool local things. read more

If we have down time, sitting in the back and grabbing a beer or wine is also a nice perk. If you're parked and walking around, stop in. Truth be iterated...I was hesitant walking in to this place. We pulled up to rockstar parking in front of the store (more on that in a moment), and I couldn't help but question whether the forthcoming experience was worth it. The idea of domestically-manufactured items or, in this case, even made in Kansas City is intriguing. The store is nicely done. Sure there are tacky tchotchkes, but there is something for everyone. Anyway, I got a coffee. It was very good and the barista was friendly. My disappointment is rooted in the store's name and that some things are not only not made in KC, but are not made in America. It feels like a two-star outcome when the store name is held up to reality, but I'll hesitantly add the third with hope they redouble efforts to stock more items of domestic origin. Anyway, back to the parking situation - if you get wonderful parking beware there are some lookie-loos. I don't want to brand anyone suspicious, but even on a weekend morning there was a sense of character presence if you catch my drift. read more

I was sadly disappointed to find that they have Sonoma bottled and made wine. It's not made IN Kansas City. It was especially impressed by their displays and the all things Missouri bar featuring local spirits, beer, wine and mixers. What a fun and smart combination! Such a cute spot to shop and hang out. I visited the Made in KC Marketplace at the Plaza with guests from out of state. After browsing the marketplace, we spent most of our time enjoying the bar! Service was great, though we do not remember our server's name, we are so grateful for their kindness and patience! If you are spending a short time in KC, I recommend stopping by. You can try a sample of Tank 7 from Boulevard Brewery and support local businesses, like Made Mobb. Wonderful place for souvenirs or gifts. The seating outside is also great (when the weather is). Sometimes street performers provide entertainment, other times, the sounds of the fountain are relaxing! Also worth noting, this marketplace is walking distance to a lot of great shops and restaurants. After drinks, my guests dined at Jack Stack's and Shake Shack. The marketplace was also walking distance from our hotel, the Hilton at Country Club Plaza. We tried to come back for coffee and pastries the next morning, but they opened at 8, while Messenger Coffee was already open and serving coffee. read more

This is a fun place for Kansas City souvenirs if you're at Country Club Plaza. It's also extremely overpriced but a good spot if you're in a rush, can't visit individual stores around Kansas City, and want to find everything in one place. You can find Christopher Elbow chocolates and Kansas City themed items including bags, earrings, household goods, art prints, and clothing. This store has it all. It's well-organized, bright, and cheery. I enjoyed browsing but ultimately didn't buy anything and went to the Christopher Elbow store to buy sweets. I recommend stopping by. This is one of the best gift stores in Kansas City, full stop. First of all it's amazing that this store only carries items made here in town, and it's even better that the variety is so large you can always find something for anyone on your list. There is a small food and beverage area, some homegoods offerings, and of course a ton of KC themed apparel. Very disappointing visit. Normally my visit to this location is very pleasant. I stopped in two weeks ago and tried the spiced cider at the bar and it was delicious. Rory the bartender was friendly and attentive. But my most recent visit was horrible. First, as soon as we arrived at the bar and ordered the bartender required we pay before she made the drinks. I had never been asked to do this before and wondered if this was because we were POC. Next the normally yummy and hot spiced cider was served lukewarm in a sticky cup with bits of whipped cream that made the drink look like it had been sitting for a while. I was flabbergasted that she thought it was ok to serve a cocktail that looked like that. When I said something she added more whipped cream. The overall service at the bar was lacking at best.
