I came in here to do some shopping. There's lots of parking available which is really good. I was greeted promptly when I enter the store.I Came across some nice jewelry, some shirts, and brand new shoes. The employees were very intentive and help me with my shopping. The prices are very fair here. Some name brand items if you look,you can find them. They have a huge selection of all types of clothing and things that you could need. This is a little jem store,that if you need something, I'll definitely then they have it. I'm really glad I came shopping here and I will definitely come back! read more

I only use this place before I donate my clothes away to see what cash value I can get.. This place is a rip off in regards to what they offer you for your clothes... The offers are very insulting, especially for what you are giving them.. For instance I had a brand new pair of Clark Desert Boots that I never wore because they were too big for me, and they offered me like $12.00 (lol), mann get out of here! Also the rest of the J.Crew items that I was giving them, they only offered me $22.86 total.. hahahaha What was odd to me was the female that gave me my offer had a weird smirk on her face as she was telling me what they were going to give me for all my items... It was like she knew, it was insulting/ridiculous! At this point when they gave me the ridiculous offer, I politely took all of my items back, and drove/gave it to the City Rescue Mission, where I know it will go to good use.. I understand that I don't expect to get full price or even half, but when they are clearly low balling you on the price of the clothes (that are in great condition), and then turn around and make a 75%-95% profit, I have issues... read more

Horrible customer service. One one addressed me when I entered. Not a single customer in the store besides myself and the 2 girls working seemed like they couldn't be bothered to help me. I am not upset about the amount I got for my 2 bags of clothing they have no control over that, but they do have control over how you are treated. The standard for customer service in this store needs to be evaluated!! The whole process of waiting for my clothing was spent watching the girls stand their and talk about me while I am 10ft away. Definitely need to do some training in that store. I won't be back because of how the customer service was. read more

I came by this platos closet from Elgin despite the negative reviews hoping to be wrong. I got there about 5:40pm and had 4 bags. We came in and there were literally 2-3 people in your store total. When my husband brought in the 4th bag, one of the blonde girls sighed with a roll in her eyes my husband noticed. The brunette who came to the counter explained the rules and stated there is one in front of us and it would. Eabout 30-45mins however there are 3 girls at your counter doing nothing but talking about personal stuff. We asked do we just leave it and they looked at us like "what?" So we left to pick my daughter up. This is not the experience or customer service anyone should be receiving especially when your store is super slow with only 2-3 customers and 3 counter girls. They need some serious retraining on customer service and how about a hello how are you welcome to platos closet or something like that. I have to pick up my stuff soon but would love a call as i dont think they will be eager to thoroughly look at my stuff. They look and act like they are only there for a paycheck. Update: i ended up contacting the manager online and received a call and they sent me a coupon off card and apologized for the bad customer service. She told me she would be sure that they receive some more training. read more

I was told it would be a 30 minute wait, ended up being over 2 hours. Workers talked more than actually working. I am never coming back.

Customer service is subpar. The employees seem like they dislike their jobs and aren't very friendly. Add that with their item selection (or lack there of) process I am doubtful I'll ever come back here again. read more

When I first started dropping off bags of clothes, usually 2, they would take an entire bag of clothes and shoes!! Lately it's been about 10-20 items out of the 60 items I have. Really the highest they will take now is about 16. I understand they don't want to take tank tops during winter or boots during summer, but then they just won't have enough for the season when it comes! I will give them brand new clothing, as in never worn, never washed, nothing!! And they won't take it bc of the same. excuse. every. single. time. "Discoloration." One lady who was checking me out for my items went back to the girl who checked my items and flat out said, "if you don't know what to tell them just say their items were discolored" because she didn't write anything down on why they didn't take some items. I was SO MAD. I look at all their clothes and I have either the same or much better clothing than what they're buying. Last time they took all my old clothes from PINK (AKA Victoria's Secret) and that was it. And those were for sure discolored because they were old. The workers there don't even care about your business. They honestly take the clothing they personally like and say the rest was discolored. I'm trying again tomorrow because I am desperate on money. But if I hear that word again, I will be contacting a DISTRICT manager. read more
