I would not recommend trying to sell your clothes here, especially on a weekend. There were bins on bins of clothes being donated or sold so the wait time could be around 1-2 hrs for you. The person that was assisting me seemed new, she also didn't know where my items were stored so that was an unpleasant experience. The store itself needs a refreshing and a new smell. You'll know what I'm talking about when you walk in. Unfortunately they did not take any of my items, even ones that were last season and unworn. I had Express, American Eagle, and Calvin Klein branded items. I'd recommend trying to sell your clothes online instead of going to Plato's. read more

This is literally the jankiest Plato's closet in GA! They constantly lying , nobody info ever matches up. I came to get an item posted on IG.. I get there , it's available sooo when they go ask the lady for the bag ... all of a sudden, it's on hold. The employee wanted the bag & didn't wanna sell it after posting it that it was indeed for sell. 0/10 do not recommend. They want to be picky about items but will buy items with the zippers broken , stains, missing accessories, broken buttons, etc. I won't be back . read more

First visit to this business today and the woman checking me in was unnecessarily short and rude. The middle-aged blonde woman greeted me by barking at me that I would not be allowed to bring clothes into her store again unless they were in a bin. I think it is great that she wants people to bring items in something reusable, but I was a first-time visitor and had no way of knowing this information. I explained to the woman that I was dropping clothes off at my daughter's request. She grunted to me to check in at a different part of the counter. I began check-in using my daughter's information and ID. She aggressively admonished me for using my daughter's information rather than my own. Again, first visit, I had no way of knowing she would prefer my information to check in clothes my daughter was selling. Things went downhill from there. Plato's closet is a franchise that specializes in selling and purchasing gently used name brand clothing, accessories for teens and adult clothing for those in their 20's and 30's. The first Plato's Closet opened in Columbus, OH in 1998. They're owned by Winmark which also owns Once upon a Child, Play it Again Sports. This location is off of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs near Abernathy Rd intersection. It's located in the shopping center as Publix. Parking can be a challenge on the weekends as the shopping center shares the parking lot with at least 30 businesses. The store itself is a decent size. I'm estimating about 2500 sq.ft. When I was there the place was packed with items but everything seems very well organized and neat. They sell everything from boots to men's polo shirts to scarves and purses. Most of the items looked like they were in good conditions. I think for the items that they sell the prices are fair. Not great but fair. I'd say "I don't know why I keep coming to this location" but it's the convenience. This is the closest location to me. I've been a few times and it's a pretty poor experience each time. Bad customer service, if any is given. Today, a sales associate watched a family walk up and cut in front of me in line even after I spoke up. Pretty okay selection of items but it's always something like this at this store. They're rude in here ... literally had someone leave the security tag on my clothes which was embarrassing when I tried to change at the gym and brought it back to be taken off. The women kept saying she was sorry and that I needed to have the tag for the pants. I had it in my car so I went to go get it. While leaving I heard them talking about me and my friend was still in there browsing but we came in at separate times ... why were they speaking negatively about me when I walked out. Like to be honest if you don't enjoy your job don't work . Though they only bought a few of my clothes,I left satisfied snagging 2 quality cocktail dresses for a pittance of their worth. SELLING: Staff usherd me though the process when I handed my box of clothes. Their purchase is contingent upon: styles for young adults (teens to 20s) and from as far as back as last season, also give preference to designer merch. They take about an hour to sort through so I asked if they could give me a call once come let, they said no. I just left and came back. I got $19 for 6-7 items. Mostly gap jeans, nicke top, Columbia hoodie and non brand name dress. For me this was a deal because I came with the intention of donating to Goodwill. BUYING: I bought a new Bebe dress for $18 it even came with the original tag ($159). Space is clean, well stocked and organized. If you're coming to make decent $$ out of your merch- fools dream. If you just wana toss your clothes then this is the place! There's even a goodwill in the next plaza for the merch PC rejects. read more

To be honest I didn't really enjoy my time here. There was hardly any room to move and the employees were quite rude at check out. Hard to get anyone to open the dressing room. Went with my bf to sell some clothes. He normally can make about $25-$50 out of one bag of clothes in one trip to similar stores. We waited an hour and a half for them to offer him $8 for two things. He declined their offer. We can just go to Rag-O-Rama and have way better luck in less than half the wait. Avoid this store and go to Lables, Rag-o-rama, Uptown Cheapskate or anywhere else. When I had a bad experience with one of their sales associates I asked for the owners email address and how to make a complaint and then they screwed me on my sales every time I brought clothes in after that. I even wore a wig so they would not recognize me and brought my clothes in the next day in the morning when they gave me very little the night before and got a lot more money. This is how I proved to myself that they were discriminating against me. When I finally met Chris the owner he lied to my face and did not tell me he was the owner when I asked for the email address to complain. Any business that takes their customers for granted is not one you should want to shop at or sell at. They posted something on their Instagram for $10. Got them to hold it for me which was nice, but get to the store to find out that it was marked at $20. Mistakes and typos happen, sure, but to not honor is was a bit unprofessional. I sell clothes online so I've been there and marked things lower than I wanted to on accident, but I know it's better to honor it rather than look unprofessional. Not to mention, they didn't take anything of the 2 bins of items I brought in when I know at least a few of the items in there matched some of the stuff I was shopping through. I just went in to look for Summer clothes and no one greeted me when I walked in. I walked around the store for a while not one employee that walked by even said hello or if they could start me a dressing room for the items in my hand, not one word. I finally asked for a dressing room and the guy was nice but that was the only interaction I had. None of the clothes fit like I expected so I just set them on the rack right out side the dressing room. I was walking toward the door to leave and there were about 5 employees behind the counter in their own conversation, not even one looked at me. My first time visiting this location I was told that they were not excepting drop offs. So, The next week when I decided to try again I called the store right before I left and they told me that they were excepting drop offs and the man on the phone explained that it needed to be in a box of some sort and explained everything. 20 minutes later I get there and I am told that if I want to try to sell clothes it's going to be a four hour wait and we have to stay in the store. Me and my friend paused because we were so confused. I was like wait so I can drop off but it's going to be 4 hours and we can't go outside or leave the store? And he said yes... first of all that makes absolutely no sense why am I being forced to no leave... also why was I not told this when I called 20 minutes later and spoke to the same exact man. What the hell am I supposed to do inside of platos closet for 4 HOURS... On top of this, we saw a guy hit a car bad and drive off like a crazy person. Came to the location at 5:30pm. There were two people ahead of me with smaller baskets. I had a large bag so I anticipated it would take some time to go through my items. The saleswoman I spoke with in store told me they would call me within 45 min-1hour. An hour and 15 min go by so I decide to call in to check the status. I was advised at 6:50 that they'd be done in 15-20 min. I called back at 7:10 to see if I should come in. A new saleswoman says they haven't started my bag at all and that they'd get started in 20 more min and be done in an hour. Aggravated is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Because I waited in their parking lot for almost 2 hours because it wouldn't have made sense to drive all the way home due to distance. Improper expectations were set EVERY TIME I spoke to someone and left me with my time wasted. I see why most platos closet locations have 2 star ratings. read more

They said every offer is given by their system for 1/3 of potential sale price, so I guess I can't blame anyone in there for offering me $1 for my cloth that worth more than $30 on eBay used. It's not a scam but BRANDS clearly DOESN'T matter to their "system". Very polite staff and clean store. If you're looking to buy used clothing, give it a try. You can probably find $3 clothes there. I have been coming to this location for years and this is still hands down where I shop for most of my clothes these days. This consignment store is almost like a boutique in that it carries alot of name brands for literally fractions of what the original buyer pays for it. I love the fact that for every $10 you spend you get a stamp on your platos card and when you fill it up you get 20 percent off your next purchase. People kill me complaining about how they only got a few dollars for the articles of clothing that they are trying to sell to this place because most second hand stores dont even pay you at all for things you are tying to get rid of, usually it's considered a donation. If you want to try to recover most of the money you spent in an overpriced retail store, then Ebay is a better place to go. Platos can afford to sell gently used articles of clothing such as BCBG, or Ann Taylor for $10 because they are only paying a few dollars per piece. I think it is a ridiculously genius concept for cheap-a-zoids like me who detest shopping in retail stores. They have a sign that clearly says that they don't accept plus sized clothing, so don't expect to find any here. I am about one cheeseburger away from not being able to shop here anymore... Accessories (belts, jewelry, shoes, and purses), books and DVDs sold here also. There is also a section for men. read more

My friend says she has a place where I can get super cute expensive jeans for cheap. Let's go! I've never shopped in a consignment store before so I was amazed at all the clothes. I'd have to say, the store is pretty organized. Since I was looking for the high-end jeans, they were easy to find on small racks at the front of the store. All the other stuff was grouped by type of clothing and by color on long racks all over the store. I found a great pair of jeans that fit me like only I'd worn them. (Don't worry, I washed them before I wore them.) The reason I'm taking off a coupla stars is because of the employees. This would have been a great experience if they had acted like customers were even in the store. I walked up to one of the 2 registers where 2 employees were standing. They were talking about some clothes just brought in so I wanted to be polite and wait until they were done. Big mistake. I stood there for about 5 minutes...waiting. Finally another employee walked up to the other register and started ringing up another customer. Let's just ignore the fact that I was already waiting there. It would have been nice if the first 2 girls had said something like "Someone will be right with you" and called over someone to ring me up. At least the guy who rang me up was pleasant. Plato, you're getting 3 stars for the fact that I found a pair of Citizens for Humanity jeans that fit like a glove. They have the same jeans at Nordstrom for $158. What did I pay? $18! The second platos closet I've been to this week to sell some of my clothes. You take 4 items, one which was a $60 dress from dress up and they give me only $10. Complete waste of my time... AGAIN! Following up on my experience here - When I dropped off my clothes, some of them were in a big Vera Bradley bag. I told them this bag was NOT included - it was just holding the clothing that didn't fit in the plastic tub. After Plato's Closet donated all the clothes I left (without calling me to give me the opportunity to pick up the ones they didn't want), I called them to inquire about the Vera Bradley bag. Can't say I was surprised to find out it was donated as well. If you're thinking about taking clothes to this Plato's Closet location, DON'T. Save yourself the trouble and take them straight to Goodwill. Nothing would please me more than to see this store go out of business. read more

The clothes here are cute. But I tried to sell here and the wait was an hour. And after an hour of wandering around the store I come up and ask if they were finished going through my items. They only wanted a Coke shirt I had. And only offered me $4 for it. It was barely worn and bought at $40. I also had another bag with a lot of things in it, and they did not even go through it... They did a lousy job reviewing the clothes I brought in. And gave me back all of it. I had a very nice quality $40 shirt from Disney that I've never worn, and I'd expect them to want it. I also had a designer back my mom gave me in wonderful condition, which they completely missed. Then only after I mentioned the back did they offer me $9 for it. What a disappointment. I also had a very nice watch that they did not even seem to look at. Or open the bag that it was in. I guess I am going to try to sell my remaining items on DePop. What a waste of my day. And the service was rude. It's a shame because the clothes there are nice. I understand they cannot offer you that much in order to keep prices low. But... $9 for a $300 purse. This place is disgusting! Over crowded stuff everywhere. CLUTTERED AND VERY SMALL! I came here to sell 4 pair of sneakers was quoted a 35 minute wait. After waiting for over an hour I left. It has be an hour and 45 minutes and I'm still waiting on a text to notify me that they are done. The girl checking the clothes is standing there running her mouth to other associates, friends coming in, and customers. Maybe if she shut her mouth and did her job people wouldn't be waiting 2 hours just to get chump change. So annoying!
