Just sold here for the first time. I only brought a few things since I wasn't sure what they did or didn't take. I arrived just as they opened, so they were able to process my entire (small) bin in less than 10 minutes and made what I feel was fair offer for a resale store for the items they wanted. Because it was my first time selling, I asked them to tell me why they didn't take some things so I'd better understand next time. They were very helpful and gave me a style guide explaining exactly what they're looking for at this time. All of the employees were polite and helpful and it was a pleasant experience. The store is definitely geared towards junior/teen styles, and they have specific brands they want to buy. I didn't browse long (since my teenager wasn't with me and they finished my stuff so quickly), but that would be where they might could improve. The place is packed with stuff - like so much I couldn't really love clothes on the rack. They were also having a clearance sale and clearance items were in bins with no apparent size/style/gender divisions which, for me, is far too overwhelming to shop through. Everything was neatly folded, but I imagine it will be a huge mess once people actually start shopping in those bins. read more

This is the second time going to this location It was another disappointing experience. I believe the staff profile you the first and second time going to this location I was treated the same I had gently worn items. In great condition and they didn't take anything I find it unlikely that they would not take tshirts shorts mens joggers and very nice sneakers . and then the young lady at front said oh yeah they told me to tell you we don't take brands from target . and that's not the only brands I had along with me . Sellers be aware you will be profiled will never go to this location again. read more

I have been coming here for a couple years and after today won't be back. As for Selling, I had a large bag of things I've bought online and never worn but don't feel like mailing back. Majority of the items in this full bag was from Nordstrom, with pricey brands like PAIGE Denim, Splendid, etc. Not the cheap Nordstrom brands. I had 2 small items out of the entire bag that were Fashionnova online returns. Everything else- Nordstrom. I'm talking $200 pair of jeans that have never been worn and are a normal size (all sizes M, 6,8 etc) They told me they weren't buying any of it because of STYLE- and said you know like that fashionnova style. This was a little offensive bc 1 I rarely shop at Fashionnova and the bag was 99% Nordstrom. The delivery was off.. the store was super full with people selling, some ppl bringing in 3 huge bins. So I feel like they had to be more selective bc of volume which would have been a lot less offensive than saying my fashionnova style. As for Shopping there, I was shocked and disgusted by what they were selling. I went straight to the Lululemon racks and everything had make up stains, other stains, tears in fabrics, holes, excessive pilling from being washed and dried too much and not dry cleaned. Everything looked ten years old that had been horribly taken care of! The craziest part is they were selling it at 60-75% of Retail prices brand new from Lulu. So you can spend $49.99 on a pair of leggings from Uptown that look 10 years old with stains, rips and little dryer lint balls on them, or you can pay $69 at Lulu Lemon brand new.... All of this to say, if you have dirty, outdated Lululemon this is the place to sell it for sure. Everything else, I wouldn't waste a trip. read more

Wow, let's just say I was impressed! I have shopped at other Uptown Chrapskate locations, to include the location in Kennesaw, so I was excited to see one opening closer to my hood. First, don't let GPS get you lost! This store is located in the corner of the shopping plaza with Kroger. It's on the side of a restaurant, and technically off of Johnson Ferry rd and not Lower Roswell road. If you can't find it, given them a call like I did and they can guide you to the location. I went with the intention of selling items. I was greeted immediately upon entering the store. I as instructed to compete a form on a I pad like device. The staff advised that there would be about - 20 minute wait and I could browse the store while i waited. The store is very organized. You have pants. Shirts, dresses, skirts outerwear, workout pants and workout shirts all separated by size. They also have a mens section. The shoes are organized by size and are on display above the clothes on each aisle. I found some AMAZING pieces. I opted for a wonderful Free people jumpsuit that had an amazing price tag and an Urban Outfitter maxi dress. The staff advised me that they were done looking over my items by announcing my name over the loud speaker. They opted to purchase 5 of my items and the store credit I decided just about covered the cost of the two items I wanted. I was so excited! This store selection is great and I look forward to supporting this location often. read more

Of all the locations I've been to, Marietta is my absolute favorite. Although I do come across some items with stains, tears, and holes, it's a bit strange to see those chosen for resale while my stylish and undamaged items get turned away. But hey, I still have a great time shopping here and always end up leaving with something awesome! read more

TL;DR-- if you don't like the estimated time given when selling and you don't want to do a drop-off, just whine until the associates cave in and push your items ahead of the line of people who came in before you! I was given an estimate of 30-35 minutes and ended up being there for almost 90 because of this :) I walked in at 2:31 PM and was greeted by the associate who checked me in, acknowledged my three bags of items to sell, and said "there's only 2 people ahead of you so it shouldn't be too long, probably around 30-35 minutes!" This sounded great to me and I chose to stay in store; I had an appointment to get to at 4pm, but even if the estimated time doubled, I would've had enough time to leave on time. However, not too long after I arrived, another woman walked in saying she had clothes to drop off. After being informed of the policies, she immediately complained about the drop-off policy because she wanted to get errands done during the time her clothes were appraised and didn't want to stay and "do nothing." The associates restated to her the two options- to drop off her clothes and collect the payout before 8pm, or to stick around in the store for about 30-ish minutes until her clothes were ready. The woman was still unsure and mentioned she really only had 30 minutes, so the associates said they could do their best to have her offer done as soon as possible in the time she had. Of course, this woman left with her offer while my sorted clothes were awaiting appraisal, therefore getting bumped ahead of me in line. I did not receive an offer until 3:55pm, nearly an hour and a half after I arrived and was given an estimated time of 30-35 minutes, essentially tripling the time expected. By the time I received my offer, I was so upset and didn't have time to collect the items that didn't sell, as I had originally planned to do, because I was in such a rush to leave at that point. After almost an hour of waiting, my clothes had already been sorted and were just waiting to be appraised, which is why I continued to wait, as I also didn't want to do drop-off and wanted the clothes back that didn't sell. Furthermore, I didn't feel it was fair that I would have to switch to drop-off, after waiting an hour/double my estimated time, even though my clothes were already sorted and just sitting there. The appraisal process was also slowed down by several distractions, including associate switch-outs/breaks/and having to answer questions about mannequins, not to mention the side conversation by the associates behind the counter. I find it incredibly disappointing and unnerving that because I followed and respected the store policies and didn't complain about the wait time when I first came in, I was essentially punished and pushed further down the line behind other guests that walked in after me. The unfairness and emotional stress, let alone being 20 minutes late to my appointment, caused from this experience isn't right and there are store policies for a reason. All to say, I learned that to get better treatment and quicker service when selling clothes at Uptown Cheapskate, complain and about the policies and whine about why you deserve special treatment over someone else who is simply doing the right thing and trying to follow the rules. read more

Had a great experience here. I don't know if I got lucky or what but I was in and out in ten minutes. Brought in four pairs of shoes and walked out with with enough for half a tank of gas. The guy who sorted through my items was very prejudice...he said a lot of the items were too worn in, which is fine but I know there were 2 brand new pairs of brand new items in my bag because I never worn them...I held up one of the shoes and said "This shoe was too worn in?" And he said "oh well we can't really buy one shoe." I said "it's not just one shoe, it's a pair the other shoe is right here" he replied "oh well i meant we can't just buy one pair of shoes" which I thought was a ridiculous response since people that come in don't always have more than one item to sell...Then he proceeded to say "oh and thats a scratch there" and the mark he was referring to was very tiny, i thought he was joking...he gave a very strong vibe of not wanting to buy my items because of the way I looked...He looked at me like he was in disgust of my presence...The excuses and responses he gave me for not taking my brand new shoes were so stupid. I needed some work shoes for my new job, and I was able to find two pairs. While I was there a few other items did catch my eye but I had to stay on task. That a Uptown Cheapskate and Marietta always has a great selection. If I didn't have my budget set already I definitely would have been doing a lot more shopping. Also, I will note that the staff had excellent service especially since I was unable to come in until 30 minutes before closing. They still served me with a smile and some jokes. When I asked that he pull up the camera footage to verify my original purchase he tells me his cameras don't work..... On July 8th, I decided to sell 4 large contractor trash bags full of clothes, shoes, and bags at this location. Vee informed me that it would be a 30-minute wait for her and another staff member to process the sell of my items. I waited over an hour and 40 minutes for her and Dana to have several small talks about things that had nothing to do with my store. Vee also did not go through each bag as she has been instructed to do so. As a customer I had to speak up because I saw Vee and Dana not follow company policy several times during my wait. The store had several brand-new items that I purchased. However, the staff is awful and needs to be replaced immediately. I believe Katelyn who is a Store Manager had to tell them to stop talking and start working because they had me and several other people waiting longer than usual. read more

I heard they buy clothes so I took in to get cash brand new with tags, nicely folded, never worn, Tommy Hilfiger shirts (wrong size for me). The tags said $59.99 on each shirt. I would have taken a reasonable offer but after waiting for 20 minutes while they offered me $5 per shirt. When I declined, they dumped the shirts on the counter for me to re-fold them and put them in the bags. Is common courtesy too much to ask from a business these days? read more

Had a Great experience selling clothes here! I'm already planning a trip back. They even have a donation program for the clothes they can't buy and will make sure they get donated on your behalf. Clean, large store! The owner was a pleasure to meet! Her employee was very nice and a great help. I'm in trouble though just bought a place walking distance from here! I'm gonna spend what ever I sold! They also offer more for your money if you take in store credit so think about that before you come in.... They have a great sign in policy where u can register your account. They had 3 other drop offs while I was there too. This place will have lots of great stuff. Even selling new items for the season. Drove in rush hour traffic and it took over an hour to get to the store. I arrived at 7 pm exactly and they refused to take my items because they stop buying an hour before close. I explained how far I drove and the girl was like "you can come back in the morning we open at 10". Why would I drive that far for a third time? I came on Halloween, they closed early that night. Which is not a typical retail practice but I wasn't mad at it. There were no customers in the store and they weren't working on any buy bags, there is no reason that my items couldn't have been looked at. They were literally doing nothing. Super disappointed because I like this company but I will sell my things on Mercari or Poshmark before I ever come back here. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. read more
