The people here are always very nice. The flowers .... not so good. I received a dozen roses, delivered to my door, in a vase with water. In two days, the roses were all wilted. Temperature at this time of year is not too hot, nor cold. No direct sunlight on the flowers. I have bought roses for my mother many times from Sam's and Costco. They have fun things to decorate with: quilted placemats, dishes, serving trays, ornamental birds: frogs, and other items. Silk flowers, paintings, some purses, and shawls. Always a treat! What a bunch of heartless scam artists! My cousin ordered a money tree to be delivered to me on Friday (08/20) for my birthday. Not only did it not arrive until Saturday the 21st, but it wasn't even the right plant. What they delivered was something completely different, and it's highly toxic to my cats. When I called to see what could be done I was hung up on 3 times, and when I explained that the plant I got was not going to work (because it would kill my cats) I was basically told ,"oh well" and hung up on again. What happened to this business? In 2003 a local oral surgeon sent me a beautiful bouquet following a procedure. It was exquisite and from Platte Floral. Years later I ordered a bouquet for a friend and was embarrassed when I went to her house to see it. Saturday was my 65th birthday, a momentous occasion which was amazing until I received a pathetic tiny, cheap basket with the least expensive flowers grown with colors that in no way were meant to be put together. They were wilted and droopy and the card was NOT signed so I had no idea who they were from. When I found out that it was from the daughter of one our town's wealthiest, most+ predominant citizens, I was mortified and she would be too so I did not mention it to her daughter. With bouquets of roses and other beautiful arrangements sent by friends, this was the saddest looking charlie brown bunch I've ever seen. Stopped by to order flowers. There was an employee sitting down with a customer helping her with an order. I did not expect her to stop what she was doing, but a quick "hello" or "welcome in" would have been doable. I walked around the store looking for another employee; I could hear people in the back but there was no way to contact them. I walked back to the main room, and the employee was walking past with her customer, walked right past me, made eye contact, but said nothing nor acknowledged me. I think she may have assumed I was less important because I was not dressed as fancy as her customer. I was wearing slacks and a t-shirt with the name of a non-profit organization on it; I had been working there all morning so I was in my casual clothes. I did call and spoke to a nice man who apologized for my experience. Customer service is the only thing that sets a business apart from other similar businesses. I would not consider myself to be a connoisseur nor an expert on flowers or arrangements. Like most men, I pretty much only hit one of these places up for a special occasion or when I've done something terrible stupid. However, there's a basic level of an understanding here. You advertise that you guys can do day of deliveries, as such you should do that. Awesome, so I order one - at approximately 8am. Order goes through, credit card gets charged, no problems. The flowers I ordered didn't seem super difficult or anything, but given that it was a day of delivery and that the location was kind of funky (on a college campus, etc with super clear instructions including a map that I linked to), I thought I should go ahead and at least check-in. So I called at around 11am just to check in. Guy on the phone seemed super confused, after hemming and hawing for a few he tells me "oh, no problem, we show your order is out for delivery". AWESOME! Only 3 hours later, at around 2:30pm I get an email saying my order has been cancelled and they don't have the product in stock. This is now 6 hours after I ordered it, paid for it and 3 hours after I was told it was already en route for delivery. I didn't get a phone call, I didn't get a message from someone saying "hey, we got a problem, let's find a way to fix it". I get an email saying it's cancelled. End of story, no solutions provided. By now it's too late for me to get anything else delivered....most flower shops are out of arrangements and I'm left sitting there looking like an idiot. I just wanted flowers delivered on that day. I didn't ask for rocket science, this whole thing shouldn't of been difficult. They had all day to call me and break the news so I could make alternative arrangements or figure something out with them - but I got nothing. Platte Floral - you had one job. Just one. VERY disappointed! I ordered a Teleflora's Shimmering Snowflakes Tree arrangement. What my wife received was some different colored lilies, some roses and another flower which were not in the arrangement that I ordered. Also, the greenery was almost completely different and there were NO Christmas balls or Snowflakes at all. It was NOT shaped like a tree and the vase was just plain dark red, which I would NEVER have ordered. I can understand if they were out of stock on the vase, but if they didn't have a snowflake to put on top or Christmas balls to hang on the tree...GO BUY SOME! However, it wasn't even a tree, as I ordered. Did Platte Floral even have the good sense to call me to say they couldn't do that arrangement and offer to make something different or have me look at their catalog...NOPE! No call, no notification! They just delivered a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENT expecting me to be fine with it. IT'S NOT WHAT I ORDERED! COVID-19 is not an excuse to not call me and just deliver something I didn't order. I placed an order for flowers for my mom's birthday through FTD, which was fulfilled by Platte Floral. I had requested "The Pick-Me-Up™ Bouquet by FTD® - VASE INCLUDED" and had upgraded to the "Better" option, which should have included 14 stems of roses and gerbera daisies (google the arrangement name to see what it should have looked like). Regular price (before florist handling fees and taxes) was $69.99. What my mom received was an absolute atrocity (see the picture of what she received in the photo section of this page). It might have had 9 flowers at best, only 3 of which were roses, and they filled it up with yellow solidago (filler material). I called FTD, and they asked me to send a picture of the flowers that were delivered. When I did, they called back immediately and refunded my order in full because it was clearly NOT what I had paid for. Not sure if this is the norm for Platte Floral, but thanks to the beauty of cell phone cameras and text messaging, they didn't get away with it this time. Word to the wise...check what's actually sent if you don't want them to get away with cheating you on your order. read more

The photo of the arrangement in the blue vase is what is pictured on their website. I thought it was beautiful and perfect for a boy baby shower with the blue vase and the pretty blue iris's which was a gorgeous contrast to the white roses. I paid for the premium size which totaled $80.00 including a $15 delivery charge. I can't express my incredible disappointment in the arrangement that was delivered. I took hours to select the perfect arrangement for my sister's 70th Birthday. She was traveling to her daughters in Co Springs. I checked multiple local florist reviews and after a great deal of research ordered the Teleflora Washed in Pink. I loved how it came in a Art glass vase and I upgraded to the premium bouquet to ensure it would be a special arrangement. Of course after I ordered I received an email from Teleflora stating that there may be some substitutions, including the vase. I was very disappointed in this but hoped that they would select a similar and unusual receptacle to hold this big arrangement. My sister sent me a picture of what she received with her thanks. Of course she didn't know what she received was absolutely nothing like what I ordered. I was in tears because I really wanted this to be a special arrangement for her. It looked like a five-year-old placed floral foam in a jar and stuck some flowers in it. I could of sent my niece to the grocery store to get better than they sent. See the photos of what it was supposed to look like versus what came. I called Teleflora. Their solution was to give me a percentage off. I called the florist and they told me they would look into it and call me back. I never received that call. To me the only solution would've been to send a new arrangement, the one I ordered. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a florist. On the Saturday before Mother's Day I got a call from a driver that he left a bouquet for me on my porch . I went right away and retrieved the flowers - I thought at first it was a joke! The flowers looked like they were thrown together in a vase. Several had broken stems and were falling down . Several pieces were dead. The Mums especially were shriveled up and dying . They were the ugliest flowers I had ever received! I called and the woman I got on the phone was not receptive and annoyed. She told me to bring the flowers in so she could see them. I have a broken leg so couldn't do that. I took pictures and sent them to my daughter who had sent them - she picked up the complaint from there and sent the pathetic pictures to them . They redelivered flowers today and again they were left on the front porch but with no door bell ring and no call. By the time I found them , probably a few hours later, the mums were again half dead and shriveled up. The bouquet which my daughter spent $80 on , consisted of carnations, shriveled mums and 2 Lillies. Again I called and this woman too was not receptive and didn't want to hear my concerns . I will never order flowers from there again and will tell all my friends here in the North End not to as well. The flowers and service were not just disappointing , they were terrible. I highly advise the public to NOT give Platte Floral your business and money. They are scammers in disguise taking/robbing people of their money and in turn providing under budget, wilted, amateur arrangements and the UGLIEST customer service you will ever experience. My arrangement was delivered on time, as scheduled. My recipient promptly notified me with a picture of the floral arrangement which resembled nothing like what I ordered - price, fullness, quality. As an avid buyer and sender of arrangements I am fully aware that when purchasing online arrangements flowers will vary depending on florist stock. It has always been my prior experience with other florists that when stock varies the florist still remains ethical to the floral arrangement quality and value and this was not the case with Platte Floral, not even close. If you've never been hung up on by a costumer service associate while trying to explain your dismay with a product they've provided, just call Platte Floral and speak with Debbie! She will provide you with the worst customer service of your life and show you the living, breathing, talking epitome of RUDE and PETTY. When bad-mannered Debbie answered the phone I began to politely explain to her my dissatisfaction with what was supposed to have been a $73 value arrangement they provided, she indicated that my dissatisfaction with the flowers was "not her problem" and that she "doesn't care how it looks". After explaining to her that her tone and response was unacceptable she proceeded to hang up on me a total of 3 times all the while accusing me of threatening her by my request to not hang up on me in efforts to speak to a manager and or owner. Barbaric Debbie told me "she didn't have to listen to me" and "a manager wasn't available". Apparently I called enough times after low-down vile Debbie hung up on me to reach someone new, Gene. He claimed to be in charge. He had no remorse for petty Debbie, not even slightly, which tells me that this is not a business operated with morals, courtesy or artistry. I specifically asked Gene if Debbie's behavior is a representation of his business in which he had no reply. That says everything you need to know about Platte Floral. Moving on, the only resolution Gene suggested was to have my Grandmother drive to their location to return the flowers. Platte Floral, Colorado Springs was second partied by FTD Floral to execute my arrangement and delivery. My order through FTD was placed well in advance to be arranged and delivered by Platte Floral prior to Mother's Day, 2020. After sharing my experience on my personal Facebook page it became very clear that many others have shared the same experience with this business, including their very own experiences with Debbie downer. They are a local business hiding behind big names such as FTD Floral and other online companies which has to be the only reason they continue to generate business. I ordered some flowers directly from a website that said it was a local florist in Colorado Springs, Platte Floral, and it appeared it was their website. Flowers never made it to their destination at a local hospital and I was given the runaround about which hospital we had chosen for delivery (the address was correct on our invoice), and the fact that supposedly the flowers were left at a nurses station on the proper floor (which they were not). Without even checking personally with a driver to see where they were actually delivered they told me there was nothing they could do about it. "Flowers get stolen all the time." Right....from a nurses station in a hospital. A nurse I spoke with at the hospital today said she was working yesterday and they were not delivered there. She will go to every nurses station on every floor in the hospital to check today, but according to Platte Floral they were delivered to the proper floor. This nurse said there were two deliveries yesterday, neither of which were for my Mother. She even double checked those hospital rooms where flowers were delivered on the floor to make sure there was no mixup. Come on, let's work something out here instead of slamming the door in my face! They said there was nothing they could do for me. This kind of business is so disappointing, and if I lived locally I would have delivered my own flowers. But I live on the east coast so online flower delivery is the only option, and I chose Platte Floral who did not try to resolve this situation favorably. I just wanted my 87 year old Mother who was in for emergency cancer surgery to know we were thinking of her, but instead I'm out $78 for flowers that "were delivered." Unbelievable. Sending flowers to a family friend on the anniversary of his wife's death is kind of important to get the date correct. I receive a phone call from this company stating they could not do the delivery because they could not get into the gate. Was told the driver tried to call me to get the gate number. I never received a call or message asking for the gate number. I contacted my friend and got the gate number 30 seconds after I texted asking for it. My only options were to inconvenience the person I was sending the flowers to and ask them to drive and pick up their own gift at the shop or have them delivered 2 days late because they're not open Sunday.
