That is definetley the case with this location of IHG properties. This chain is consistenly solid over the years so I wasn't expecting anything less than what we had. They in the midst of a renovation, but around a bit of dust here, anda paint splash there, it was still clean (much cleaner than a previous place in Wilmington). The staffer that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. Our beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. We had a little problem with the shower the first night (operator error, or rather we didn't know the trick for a janky tub/shower valve). We called and they sent someone within about 5 minutes. [It was one of the maids that had experience with our room, a sweet soul, very pleasant...I do have to ask though, how many tattoos are too many tattoos]. The breakfast was pretty well put out, two hot protiens each day, eggs, potato options, oatmeal, cereal, pancake machine, etc. Even the most finicky kid would not walk away hungry unless they wanted to, for whatever reason it is that finicky kids do things. The hot tub worked, good temperature, pool was nice, neither had too much chlorine. While you didn't have to walk through the lobby (like some hotels- why designers, why?) there was a giant window from the front lobby/breakfast area to the pool area. My wife was a bit off put by that. I guess you would feel a bit like a fish in the aquarium if someone was there looking in. Definiteley a good stay, nothing is cheap anymore, so $346 for two nights in a non capitol city in Ohio might feel steep, but hey that's what the market will bear, so all good that's good. We would come back if in the area.

We began with a side salad of fresh lettuce, croutons, red onion slices, bacon for the carnivores, and a vinaigrette dressing. The main meal was a cheese lasagna, and a prime rib. My husband and I enjoyed our lasagna with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes... Definitely not for the dieters ;) I was informed by others in our party that the prime rib wasn't very good, and the green beans were very bland. The dessert was peanut butter pie. It was good for what is was, but I despise peanut butter :(, so I passed mine off. It definitely wasn't homemade as it was still slightly frozen. The trip as a whole was quiet enjoyable. We purchased our tickets online for an early Sunday matinee and when we arrived the entire place was practically empty. They didn't even have anyone there checking our stubs. We could have easily walked in with no ticket. We grabbed a drink, popcorn, and some milk duds and headed to find our seats. I will say the entire theater was pretty clean.... As it should have been, it wasn't even 11am yet. The quality of the screen and sound was just fine... although we could hear the movie that was showing next to ours, having it that loud isn't necessary. Our seats were comfy, but we were freezing. Good thing we brought blankets! Overall, we had a good time. The movie was great!

The food was very high quality and prices were reasonable compared to anything that you can get at Starbucks. I bought the crème brûlée Cafe latte, breakfast burrito with onions and peppers, and lemon blueberry scone. Everything was delicious! Staff were pleasant and the service was quick. It's very clean and they have a kid friendly seating area with children's books. I'll definitely come back here again.
