SCAMMERS! These guys charged us $150 for a faulty generator. It ran out of gas after only 90min and the bouncy house deflated with kids inside!! Thank god no one was on the slide or they could have been very seriously injured. After reporting this, they were going to take 30min to come with more gas, which was 1/4 of the party. After we refilled it ourselves, it ran out of gas again before the party was over, but fortunately we knew to keep an eye on it and were able to get kids out before it deflated again. They only offered an $80 refund on a $150 broken generator and $325 bouncy house. Absolutely no concern for the safety of children. They will charge you a fortune for BROKEN EQUIPMENT. Rent elsewhere!!! read more

We used Play House Party Rentals for my sons birthday party! It was so much fun, we had about 20 kids. The crew showed up on time to instal the slide, they were very friendly. During set up they asked where we'd like the slide to be placed. They asked for a water source and an outlet to plug into. It took about 1-2 hours for the pool at the bottom of the slide to fill up. We did had a few accidents with kids not looking who was coming down the slide and getting ran into, but nothing too crazy. I would highly recommend having someone monitoring if there's more than 3 kids at a time. Overall it was a huge hit and everyone had a blast, even the adults! We got the 17' slide which was perfect, but next year we'll get the 22'! Bigger is always better, especially when it comes to water slides. read more

Do not use! Horrible experience overall. Delivery was late. Rented a bouncy house for our son's birthday party and they were setting it up still 45 minutes into the party. Manager said he didn't want his driver sitting around for an hour because of another set-up they had which is why our 10am set up time wasn't honored. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have made other plans. He did call us the night before and said he could do 11am. When 11am hit I called and did raise my voice because of the frustrations. Manager was exceptionally rude back and not apologetic at all. They were late for that time then too. Finally showed up at 11:45am with our party starting at 12pm. Several of the kids have scrapes all on their legs and arms too. Horrible patch job on the part they climb up. Felt bad for the delivery drivers. Especially the one guy they sent to pick up the slide. He was here for a few hours. Such a bad experience. read more

We had an extremely frustrating and difficult experience with this company. Our rental was scheduled to start at 11am on Saturday, August 24th. I did not receive any communication from the Company about when the bounce house and waterslide would be delivered. It did not arrive at 11am, and I had a very difficult time getting ahold of anyone at the Company. When I did get ahold of someone, they were unable to provide me with an ETA or any reasoning for the delay. The rental ended up being delivered at 12:10pm, over an hour past our scheduled rental time. When I asked for a refund for the hour that was missed, the Company actually said "no" and said that the risk of loss was on me as the customer! I asked to speak with the owner, and the owner told me that "if they had to refund every customer for delayed deliveries, he would be out of business." It was truly an insane discussion with the owner that left me baffled. Since the owner refused to provide me with a refund for the missed hour, he agreed that we could keep the inflatables for an extra hour. We agreed to a pick-up time of 7pm. But then 7pm came and went... they did not end up showing up to pick up the inflatables until after 10pm!!! That was several hours after our event ended. The entire situation was hugely stressful for me. But even worse than that, it was clear that this company does not treat its employees very well. The poor delivery drivers were very clearly over-worked. I cannot recommend that anyone use this Company, and would strongly suggest you avoid at all costs! read more

My party rental drop off time was between 1 and 2 PM however they didn't show up until 4 o'clock and took over an hour to set up and left the wrong jumper that was even cheaper than the original one that I had purchased. I message for partial refund but they never message back. I ordered three jumpers and a dunk tank. A large portion of my guests came and left before anything that even arrived it was so embarrassing and heartbreaking for my daughter with her friends from school. I was truly embarrassed. I kept calling the company and they wouldn't give me a time and they kept saying they were going to call me back and didn't. They later threaten to cancel because we were understandably upset. I rented a dunk tank for my summer block party last weekend. I expected the dunk tank to arrive in the morning. That didn't happen. Not even close. By 11:00, I had heard nothing from the company, so I called. I was told that there was one stop in Evanston (I live on the northside) and I was next on the delivery route. By 1:00, the dunk tank was still not there, so I called again. The owner told me to call the driver to find out what was happening with his own employee. He gave me the driver's number, and I called the driver. The driver said that he had one stop in Evanston and then I would be next. By 3:00, the dunk tank was still not there, so I called the driver. He said he was on Central Street in Evanston. By 4:00, the dunk tank was still not there, so I called the driver. He said he was 22 minutes away. The dunk tank arrived around 5:30 p.m. When the driver started to unload it, he realized that the dunk tank didn't have a seat and could not be used. In short, we waited all day for a broken dunk tank. Trying to make it right, the driver offered to blow up a water slide that was in the truck due to a last-minute cancellation. We accepted it even though it was already past 6:00 p.m. When I explained to the owner (during one of the many calls that day) that delivering a dunk tank at 5:30 p.m. that was due to be delivered in the morning was unacceptable, he blamed traffic and the difficulty of scheduling the drop-offs. When I pushed back on those excuses, he offered a discount and then offered to refund my money. When I called today to inquire about the refund, he refused to do so claiming that he was keeping our money because we accepted the water slide (that we didn't order and arrived at 6:00 p.m.) He claims that setting up the slide and picking it up cost him money. Setting up the slide costs no money -- you roll it out, plug it in, and attach a hose. It took fifteen minutes. Picking it up did cost him something (a little gas and wages). I cannot recommend this company. The dunk tank, scheduled to arrive in the morning, arrived incomplete at 5:30 p.m. The company did not call me to inform me of the delay at any time during the day. I had to call the company -- and I had to call the driver because the owner was too busy to do it himself. And after agreeing to refund my money, the owner reneged because I accepted a 13-foot water slide at 6:00 p.m. so the kids on my block wouldn't be 100% disappointed. read more

Lets begin with insurance! I waited a month for proof of insurance that was necessary for the cook county forest preserve. I didn't pull services then because we just made the deadline for special use permits. The party started at 2:00pm and was over at 7:30. The contract stated it could be there as early as 8:00am. The bounce house showed up at 4:45pm. There were multiple calls and false arrival times. I started calling the night before to confirm services. During the party the equipment worked fine. They didn't pick up the bounce house on time. When dealing with forest preserve permits clean up needs to happen on time to avoid fines. We left the equipment at the park and then recieved a call at 8:45pm stating that the driver was running late and if we can wait a little longer. We left the forest preserve because it was closing. We paid for a full day rental and got only a few hours. When I asked for a discount for the inconvenience I got 50 dollars off, that's less that a 17% discount for me using less than 25% of the services anticipated. Unreliable, undependable. I rented a bounce house and for tables and chairs this place my event started at 3pm they were suppose to be there 2:30pm i needed the table and chairs to set up and this company was over 21/5 house late. never communicated with me i had to call them several times and the only thing the man said he could do was cancel my order not accommodate me. they ruin my baby birthday party that i worked so hard on. Not recommended! As a consumer and as a business owner. When you are providing a service when things go wrong it your responsibility to rectify. I called this place for a dunk tank and was told best way to order was online. So I placed my order online, paid deposit, choose 10:30am delivery time. Received confirmation email day before. Then day of I get a call on hour before my delivery time stating "I didn't know your drop off was 10:30am. We can't be there until AROUND 12". No apology for the oversight, nothing. But see I'm trying to support this small business. Driver gets here at 1pm brings tank and discovered he didn't have the correct bar. So I have a tank, late to the party, does not work and then was told they can bring bar in "about two hours" no offer to compensate me for lost time. Kids are waiting especially for dunk tank. Then at 3:30p another call stating he is 58 minutes away. You cannot run a business and not take responsibility for your mistakes and not try to compensate the customer for the inconvenience. The guy who I'm assuming is the owner told me it's not his fault....well who's fault is it? YOU didn't check your reservation time, YOU didn't have the correct bar, YOY couldn't complete your responsibility. YOU just lost $300. Yes that's your fault. read more

I love this company! D'Andre called me to confirm my reservation as soon as I made it, and was very responsive when I called to ask about a reschedule. The house was delivered on time, and the set up team was extremely accommodating and friendly. We had a slight issue with the generator about 2/3 of the way through the party but when I called, the team answered immediately and sent over a new generator within 20 minutes. I was extremely pleased with our rental and will definitely use Playhouse Party Rentals again!!! read more
