Went there looking g for a well priced exercise machine. Quite disappointed. The place and a lot of what is for sale is just dirty. Used equipment can look ok. Not here. They have a lot of sports equipment like baseball bats, gloves, golf clubs that are ok. Is that the place needs a thorough cleaning. Better lights. A fresh coat of paint. Then the parking, not that great. Couple places a walk behind the building. It's sad. It's a small business that you can see it's struggling. Hope they improve. read more

I baught a hockey stick from pure hockey 8 or so months ago for $150-$160 after tax, I taped it up, even put a lizard skin on it ($15 rubber grip), so now almost $180 possibly, and never ended up using it, not even once! I decided to bring it in today to hopefully get $50 bare minimum, buddy at the desk just seemed irritated almost immediately as I walk in, leaning back with his arms crossed the whole 3-5 minutes I was in there and he said most he can do is $25 cash today...after everything I told him! BUT, he said If I wanna wait a couple months for winter he can do $30!!! Guess who's never coming back? Sucks since I grew up coming here constantly needing new equipment but they went out with the old and in with the new employees and lemme tell you these people have nothing but going home on their mind, DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS ITS YOUR ONLY OPTION! I have been to this store a few times. They don't have the friendliest staff, but as a resale shop, I'm sure they deal with a lot of stuff all the time. Went in to look at some discs for disc golf today. And as I was looking through the rack, I found one of my lost discs. It still had my name and phone number on it. Now, I lost this disc a couple months back. First, the jerk that picked it up on the course should have called me to return it. That's part of the code. Second, Play It Again Sports, should have refused this disc unless I'm the seller. My first and last name are on the disc with my phone number. After looking online, I found that (not this store in particular) some Play It Again Stores have been accused of selling stolen merchandise. Now, this was found, not stolen. And I am sure that much of their merchandise has names in it from previous owners. But even a little vetting would have prevented this. No other disc on their racks had a name or number on it. So this was lazy on their part. I brought the disc to their attention. They were really confused at first on what to do. I showed one of the clerks my ID to prove that this was me. The other clerk (maybe a manager?) finally spoke up and was extremely defensive. She offered to sell me back the disc at the rate that she paid for it (2$) and stated that they just assume the good in everyone. Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. It's a disc and it's only 2$, but I refuse to pay money for my disc. In fact, I bought this disc from them over the summer. They could have easily said that they were sorry and just given me the disc back. I caught them in doing something unethical and they wouldn't make it right. The lady wouldn't even look me in the eye. She knew she was wrong. read more

There are two factors that attract me to Play it Again whenever I'm looking for a piece of sporting equipment...price and selection. This location excels in both! Normally, when trying to find goalie pads, it's tough to find what I'm looking for at most Sporting goods stores (unless it's a specialty store like Total Hockey). However, after making my way through the myriad of distracting gear in this building, I found the majority of the back wall of this establishment to be chock-full of ice hockey stuff, and a generous amount of that was specifically for goalies. Since I'm in the market for a "blocker", my visit was mostly going through the piles of choices and finding something that fit both my hand and my budget. I found one and left a very satisfied customer. If money's tight and you need a piece of new OR used equipment, put this location on your list. I live about 30 miles away and I'd definitely make the trip back the next time I need some gear, even though I have a PIAS in my own town. read more

I been here a couple times, I typically go to Play It Again Sports stores over department stores due to the better customer service and better prices and not to mention discounted prices on used gear. I didn't buy anything from this store when I went in, but the employees were still very helpfulwhen I was looking through some of their snowboard gear and exercise equipment. The store has a nice layout, and a nice area where you can easily load in large pieces of equipment. if it's too big, they said they would deliver to my house. My son and I had a terrific experience at this store today! Joe was super helpful in helping us to find a little league bat that would be appropriate for my son. He even took us outside to watch him swing with a few bats to make sure he could handle the bat well before purchasing it. I change hobbies as an average person changes their underwear. May it have been soccer, volleyball, softball, golf, tennis, or fishing, I have tried it all at one point in time. And after a while I got tired of buying brand new stuff, because a year later it wound up laying around or going in the garage sale. But then I decided to try this place. And I was pleasantly surprised. Everything here is slightly used, but still in great shape. I was able to get things at half the price I'd pay in a regular retail outlet. And they sell things like soccer spikes, and golf shoes as well ( not used on these-they get them at discount rates from stores that are going out of business.) They also have a good selection of used fitness equipment. I got a portable heavy bag and, a pair of boxing gloves,and a balance ball there all for under $100. read more

I needed ice skates for the family that day as we were going to try out Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon rink the next morning. Dick's was out of almost all skates, but this place had many to choose from. I bought 2 new pairs for $60 apiece and a used pair for my daughter for $14! I would have preferred new for her, but they didn't have her size. The condition of that pair was just ok. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had purchased new ice skates for the kids years ago that can be adjusted for growing feet. The store was clean and parking was convenient. Terrible experience! Took advantage of a customer. Purchased a child's used bike seat and was told that I could return it in 7 days only to find out I could not return a "used" seat for my money back just store credit. I decided to keep it, however after looking up the model for instructions the bike seat is the same price brand new, but sold to me used. Total rip off!!! I've decided to get into ice skating and maybe playing a little hockey. This place was recommended for skates. They were eager to help as soon as I walked in, and all the guys were really cool to me. Although they didn't have any used skates in my size, they did get me a new pair at a reasonable price. Also made sure they fit me before I left. Only downside is that they didn't mention anything about "baking" my skates or having them sharpened before I left, both things I learned about after bringing them home. But I'll get over that. If I do decide to get into playing hockey more, I'm definitely going to come back here for the equipment. read more

Yay!!! Super awesome experience tonight. The guys were very friendly and so helpful getting my daughter organized for hockey. I thought I got a fair trade on the items I brought in as well. RACIST!! I emailed them pictures of a bike I wanted to sale and spoke with them on phone. They quoted me a price between $30 and $60. When we ( me and daughter) arrived at the store every white person turned and looked at us like we stole something. The black worker just turned his head. The person I spoke with on the phone, BRAD said he quoted me $15 to $30. I snapped! There is no way in the world I would have wasted my energy for $15 or $30. Based on the images and my phone voice Brad assumed I was white. As soon as they saw that I was black the value of the bike went down. read more
