I have been to the play n learn for many birthday parties. It is the perfect place to host a kids birthday, maybe 3-7 years old. It is a backyard play set showroom that they made over for parties and free play. They have the play sets, trampolines, basketball, and ping pong. This is a go-to when the weather is unbearable (hot, cold, or wet) and you need to get your kids to burn some energy. The indoor playground equipment is awesome for the kids to enjoy. There is seating in the arena to easily monitor your kiddos. They also have a basketball mini court to shoot hoops - not to play a full court basketball game. There are also trampolines for the kids who need to jump around, table tennis, air hockey, and foosball. Food and beverages can be consumed in a small alcove seating area. The $10 fee is worth it for 2 hrs of play. Be mindful of the fact that no one is there to monitor your kids. The only interaction we had with facility mgmt was when we confirmed our reservation. Lastly, be mindful that they don't clean the equipment. We went here once during the winter and got sick the following day. After that incident, I just take extra precautions. read more

Excellent place to have a kids birthday party. Anything dealing with outdoors is a win for us but it just so happens it's winter time so it's a little cold...play n learn fixes that for everyone. We had my sons 4th birthday party there and he loved it....there's plenty of wood playground sets and trampolines for everyone to enjoy. The customer service is perfect as they provide all of the basic essentials for a party. The place is very clean considering it catches the attention of kids daily. We had my daughter's 6th birthday party at this location on a Friday night. We booked both rooms to accommodate 30+ kids. The party staff member was super helpful & kind during the set up and breakdown of our party. The two party rooms and refrigerators were very clean and tidy. It was really great to have both rooms the only drawback is some of the kids felt left out having to sit in the other room from the birthday girl. The party employee of this location was very helpful & giving me all the information I needed for planning my daughter's party for this location. They also told me about the extra discount the pizza joint up the street will give you if you mention that you were having a party at play and learn. The bathrooms were neat, tidy, and not smelly! Yay!!! Overall, my daughter, hi friends, and parents all had a wonderful time. We will definitely recommend this place to anybody who is looking to book a birthday party and if my daughter would like to have another party at Play N Learn, we would gladly book again! read more

Talk about a great birthday alternative to Pump it up or Jump Zone! This store is large and has at least 7 or 8 solid wooden play structures set up, several trampolines, and a basketball area. SUPER FUN! All of the kids really enjoyed being there. We had the party on a Sunday because the store is closed to open play, even though the show room is still open for viewing. A few people clearly snuck in and played for free, but we really didn't mind at all because there was more than enough room! There's a back room with a fridge and sink for pizza and cake. The store doesn't supply food, but you can bring in anything you'd like. Your child can even create their own playlist on your ipod and the store will stream is over the store speakers so the kids can play to their favorite tunes. Store staff was super friendly and very helpful! Will definitely consider again in the future! read more

Play N' Learn Playground Superstore on Red Branch Road in Columbia (down the road from Howard High School) has Open Play every week day from 10am-6pm. I took my daughter, Maggie (almost 15 months old) today for the first time an hour before closing. Usually under 12 months are free, and above that it's $8 for 2 hours, but since it was our first time, it was close to closing, and she's pretty close to the cut off, they let us in for free. There's a waiver you have to fill out, but only on your first visit, not every time. It was a really fun experience for both of us. There's playhouses, slides, swing sets, basketball courts, and trampolines. Socks or shoes must be worn at all times, no bare feet. They have a water fountain. They have two changing tables and provide dirty diaper bags. They have tables for parents to sit at, and didn't seem to mind outside food and drink. They also do birthday parties, and all equipment is for sale. read more

We got exactly what we wanted, it came on time, and was installed in one day. The installation guys were great and got our input on placement. Play N' Learn installed my granddaughter's Sunshine Play Structure. I am extremely pleased with this set. It is so sturdy and so inviting to hop on and play. I purchased this play structure all on the phone and the salesperson and the people in the office were very professional and helpful. Everything was completed on the agreeded upon date and there absolutely were no hassles. I would recommend this company and it's product. Took my kids to play n learn, school was off that day. We arrived at 12, to avoid the morning crowd. I was told by the clerk that the next session would start at 12:30. So, my kids and I waited outside. Other people showed up and went in to play at 12:15, they didn't come back out, they were allowed to play early. That was the First rudeness towards me and my kids! I then went in at the time I was told, I had another clerk tell me very rudely they usually don't allow "walk ins" on school days off without passes. The place was not busy at that time at all.. I drove 45 minutes to be here, I didn't know you had to have passes, definitely won't come back again. Giving it 3 stars, because once I got through the poor customer service, we did finally get to play. read more

We just purchased a swing set from Play N' Learn for our backyard. Our sales rep, Rick, was extremely helpful. He was very patient and answered my 100 questions while I was deciding which swing set to choose. The install team was on time and completed the install very quickly and efficiently. Our yard is slightly uneven which made the slide a bit steep, and Rick helped me swap it out for another slide that worked better for our yard. They had someone out the next day to switch the slides! I am extremely impressed with their customer service and not to mention the swing set is absolutely amazing! We purchased a play set from Play N' Learn Columbia in May 2020. During the purchasing process, the sale representative (George) was readily available via chat, email and phone to answer my questions and provide me with information regarding the purchase (as we were not able to see the sets in the store due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Our set was installed in June 2020 and upon inspecting the installed play set, I noticed that many of the beams were split, damaged, and splintered. This was extreme concerning to us, given that it is an expensive purchase and we worried about the safety and quality of the product (note: the beams have gotten worse with wear in the past month). I contacted George to make him aware of the damage and, over the course of a few days, continued to contact George regarding additional beams that I realized had damage. I requested over and over via email and multiple calls that George call me to discuss the problems and a resolution and not once did he call me to discuss. He offered, via email, to have some of the beams replaced but had to seek approval from his manager (Frank). Due to the lack of responsiveness from George and the lack of any indication that he cared one bit about the damage to our brand new play set, I began contacting Frank directly. Frank offered to come to my house to look at the damage that I was complaining about and to decide what can be done to fix it. I appreciated his willingness to come to look at the product himself; however, he showed up at my house with an attitude and was very impolite and unprofessional in his demeanor. Frank insisted that the "damage" I identified was normal and, over and over again, he told me "if you are expecting perfection, maybe a wooden play set isn't for you." It was not until I pointed out how unprofessional and rude he was being to me, that Frank change his tone. Eventually, he agreed to replace some, not all, of the damaged beams. I was, and still to this day am, taken aback at the way that I was treated by both George and Frank, but I wanted to wait until the damage beams were replaced before I posted my experience. This is a word of mouth business and I want everyone to be aware of my experience and this company's complete disregard for its customers. Most customer service oriented companies would have apologized that the product and/or installation was not up to par and would have immediately offered to make it right. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive one apology, they charged me $399 for installation and Frank informed me that I was lucky to even get a play set in the first place because of the high demand. This is not a cheap product and I suggest taking your money elsewhere to avoid all of the stress, regret and disappointment that this experience has caused. Attaching a few images. read more

We visited the Play N'Learn Playground Superstore in Columbia, MD this past Saturday during one of their open play sessions. It was our first time seeing their showroom. My 3 year old twin boys, their grandma, and I all had a blast!!! We will surely be visiting them again! The twins tried out everything... and I mean everything!!! They played on the swingsets, trampolines, and even the basketball hoops (although they are way too small to reach the hoops)... but nevertheless they kept throwing the ball up, lol). This Superstore is a great way to try out play equipment before making an investment. Also, if you have active kids who just need to burn off their energy for a couple of hours, it's a great place to visit for that reason alone. There is also a nice separate area of hosting kids parties. We were very happy with our visit and the polite customer service we received. Today was my first time coming here with my children since moving to Maryland and I am glad I did! Seriously, who needs to go to the park when this place has a variety of activities for the kids to do. My children 2 and 6 really enjoyed their time here, they played for a whole two hours and were devastated when it was time to leave. This place is also enjoyable for the parents since there are a few places to sit. It was really clean and there was an area to eat food l, which is very convenient. Most importantly the owner was very respectful and kind. This is another go to spot for the kids and I. For $8 you can't beat it! read more

Buyer beware!! I feel obligated to leave this post to warn unsuspecting consumers like myself. We purchased a mid-sized swing set for our daughter when she was two years old. The swingset itself was great. She was a tad young for the size, but we thought she would "grow into it" over time. And with proper supervision it was working out great. She loved it! Sales team, schedulers and installers were all very responsive and knowledgeable. They even came to our house at no charge to ensure the spot I wanted to install the unit was adequate/safe. All was going well, my daughter loves it until.... Squirrels started chewing it to pieces. Our lot backs to a wooded area and the squirrels are feasting on the set. Not only is is become an eyesore but it is a danger to kids as splintering is occurring all around the sett. Within a few years I could see it even becoming structurally unsound. I tried home remedies to no avail. I contacted Play N Learn and they offered little to no help and stated the manufactures warrantee did not cover damage from squirrels. They seemed very surprised by this complaint which I find hard to believe we are the only ones that eventually found ourselves in the same predicament. After paying nearly $5k for a swingset I expected more - or at least some attempt to stand behind their product. Which they market as a premium swing set. They did not even respond to my most recent email, as I offered in good faith to work out something mutually beneficial before I felt obligated to write this post. I have heard from some review and further reading that pressure treating wood is a deterrent to small animals/ squirrels. Play N Learn uses this angle (not pressure treated) as some sort of safer/more natural solution in their sales process. Be ready for a big disappointment if you live anywhere that squirrels are around - which is just about everywhere. Buyer beware. Next stop BBB I guess. Would love to hear from anyone else that had similar issue. This post is specifically for people buying a swingset. My 6 year old was having a blast at the open play in the beginning. She loved the playsets, trampolines and game tables. However it states on the rules to supervise your children. There was an employee who was letting their small child run all over the facility by himself. He was yelling at me to take him off equipment when I was trying to focus on following my child around. My child was not able to use the equipment nor could I play games with them because this child kept laying across the trampolines or putting his body across the air hockey table. We would have probably returned weekly but I don't feel like having to continually babysit an employees child when I'm paying for my child to play at their facility. read more

Hosted my sons 2nd Birthday party here and we couldn't have been more pleased. Everything went off without a hitch. Our event coordinator made sure we had everything we needed and was great about giving me a quick rundown before the party started. She also made sure we knew where to find her and that if we needed anything at all that she would be ready to help. She checked on us a few items throughout the party, as well. All of the kids really enjoyed the equipment and about half of them now want to have their Birthday parties there. Also, a few weeks before we had my sons party there they allowed us to come check out the place for free and he got to play on the equipment. The facility is nice and works well for winter time parties. They basically open up their showroom so kids can play on the equipment (and probably sell some pieces to parents). The birthday party part is why i rated this a little low. Our son had a party there and we paid about $300 but they don't do much for you. All they did was give me paper plates, napkins, utensils, and table cloths. While she did set up the table cloth she really did nothing else. We had to make sure everyone signed a release, we had to set up and give the kids food, we had to clean up most of the mess. They are really strict about the times and want you out in 2 hours. I have paid less at other places and gotten much more service. They should not be charging this exorbitant rental fee without some service. read more
