I completely recognize that I made a human error. When I explained what happened, the employee told me he needed to call his manager because he'd never encountered this situation before. He came back and told me they wouldn't make the smoothie at this location, despite me showing them my receipt and the paid order. I was also told I wouldn't be able to get a refund from the other location. So essentially, I was left with a $10+ smoothie I couldn't pick up, and no solution. I understand policies exist, and I understand that the mistake was mine. What really upset me was the complete lack of empathy or willingness to help find a reasonable solution. I don't have unlimited time to drive around to another location because of an honest mistake. Unfortunately, they've lost a customer today. One worker in particular, Riley, whom I'm assuming this was her first job in customer service because she looked like she was still in high school, was extremely unhelpful and had serious attitude issues, and was completely unwilling to work on a solution and acted as if I was the one that created the issue in the first place. As someone whose job is centered around customer service, her approach to the whole situation was horrible and I wouldn't hire a person like that to represent my company. If they fix their hiring and training issues it would be a great place! Hopefully those workers are given some more guidance into how to be professional.
