Still my favorite açaí bowl place! The variety of bowls they have is insane and I want to try everything on the menu please

Playa Bowls Midtown recently opened and makes a good addition to the midtown area. It's very on-brand, bright, open, airy and inviting. I opted for a refreshing blend of half mango and pitaya, topped with granola, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, mango, and coconut flakes. And instead of honey, I went for a drizzle of Nutella (yum)! I sipped on a delicious tropical mango pina colada smoothie that transported me straight to the tropics. For all you yogis out there, there's a studio conveniently located next door. There is ample parking within close proximity to the store.

TLDR: very fresh bowls, smoothies, and juices! So glad that Playa Bowls is so conveniently located (right next to Trader Joe's and several parking lots!!). Bowl: I customized mine to have half coconut and half green base. I added strawberry, banana, mango, coconut flakes, granola, and goji berries on mine as well. They also have different types of drizzles (PB, Nutella, honey). The fruit was super fresh and the bases tasted good without tasting too sweet! Drink: I forgot the name, but I got the pineapple, carrot, ginger, lemon one and it was nice and refreshing. You can watch them make all the juices to order(and see how much fruits/vegetables go into each one). AMBIANCE Nice spacious location with enough seating to do work, chill, or relax with some friends post yoga. SERVICE I went the first day so everyone was still learning. BUT they were all nice and personable

What a cute location! Upon walking in you are greeted by bright colors and beach themed decorations. The staff is friendly and helped me make a good decision. The Pura Vida was HUGE, which I'm glad because $16 is steel. The fruit was fresh and the combination with the granola was delicious.

As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong with a refreshing Pitaya bowl from Playa. Stopped in after my morning miles so added some protein to my bowl. Located right in midtown Playa Bowls is perfectly accessible for me. Very cute location to sit in to beat the heat when you're not in a rush as I was today. The young lady who took my order was very pleasant as well. If you've never been, definitely give it a try. As for price point, I paid $16 and some change with the strawberry add on.

Their açai bowls are delicious and the smoothie is my favorite. The service by Emily was great very friendly to pick something up would like. Anything but very chill and quiet

This place is conveniently located in Midtown near many workout studios and it's the perfect post-workout snack. I opted for the Power Acai bowl (chocolate protein topped with blueberry flax granola, banana, and peanut butter). You can also mix and match and do 1/2 of one base and 1/2 of another base. There's so many options to chose from! Service was relatively quick and there's plenty of seating inside as well as some outdoor chairs. The décor is very beachy - perfect for Miami.

This is a must stop after Yoga! I had the power açaí with half mango base and it was delicious. The base can be a bit runnier than North Miami location. The girls are super nice and friendly, the prices are reasonable and the place is always clean.

The bowls at Playa bowls are colorful, generous, and refreshing. Each one bursts with fresh fruit, hearty toppings, and deliciously creamy bases. They do not skimp on portions!! So many great options to choose from. Highly recommended!.

Their limited time Bae Bowl 2.0 is so good too!

Playa Bowls is my absolute favorite acai and smoothie shop in all of South Florida! All of their bowls and smoothies are beyond delicious and refreshing and my favorite menu item is definitely their Nutella Bowl! I highly recommend everyone to check them out! :)

I really wanted to like this place. Loved the ambiance and the decor but the quality of their bowls just was not there. Ordered their Pura Vida bowl and added cacao nibs ($17) and received overly ripe blueberries borderline spoiled, and artificial sweeteners (something in this bowl was making it very sweet and not from the strawberries or blueberries). The wait time itself was close to 15 mins. Shop needs to hire 1-2 extra people for rushes bc there were about 5 customers waiting around for their orders another of which was also becoming annoyed by the wait time. The woman at the register offered my pup a "pup cup" but by the time I went to grab my order no pup cup was to be found and I couldn't afford to wait another 10 mins for it. Overall there was much to be desired. I also wish my bowl had had some peanut butter. Just didn't taste right without it. If you're looking for a quality spot with great bowls and healthy foods try "Pura Vida." They've got locations all over Miami and you'll get your moneys worth.

    Kim P.

Açaí Texture: more on the frozen icey (i prefer creamy, it'd taste more legit like in Brazil or Hawaii but I'd just go to those restaurants in Miami with authentic açaí) Açaí Taste: on the tart side which is paired well with banana & nut butter but anytime i request almond butter it get a tiny drizzle. Not enough to compensate the tartness. THE REAL PROBLEM/GRANOLA The normal & gluten free granola tastes like sugar cereal. The only granola that is bearable is pumpkin flax. There is already fruits and sugar in the açaí we do not need sugary granola. KEEP THE PUMPKIN GRANOLA YEAR ROUND. Listen to your customers. The reason why you guys have reviews saying the açaí is bad is because of the overly sweet granola that is advertised as normal granola.

And speaking just to the vibe of the restaurant, this place is like heaven on earth. The perfect brunch spot. The menu was nice and simple with a number of options that will satisfy anybody. The prices are exorbitant. This was expected so it's not a hindrance to us enjoying the meal. Our precious waitress was appropriately named Precious and she was attentive, sweet, and gave awesome recommendations of what we should order. We were immediately given water and I ordered two drinks, a bloody Mary and an iced latte. Both of these drinks were exceptional. The bloody Mary was very well spiced just the way I like it with a nicely rimmed glass and garnish of celery, olive bacon and shrimp. There are certainly vodka that I like better, but as far as flavor went, this one was unbeatable. My wife ordered an espresso martini which she also enjoyed although I've seen it pictures with coffee beans in it and hers did not have any. I feel an espresso martini loses its authenticity without the coffee beans. My way or the Chia bowl and I ordered the steak and eggs. This is not the steak and eggs that grandma served me. This is a perfectly cooked churasco steak with a couple of medium eggs done just the way I wanted them and some truffle fries and tomato. Timmy truffle fries are good but do not speak breakfast. I would've preferred another potato option. The steak was good but a little tough. The meal tasted good, but I would not say great. My wife ordered a Chia bowl which was a tiny portion, but she did enjoy it. Overall, the meal was good, but it did not nearly approach the perfection that one would expect at this price point. In addition without asking us, they poured two glasses of water and apparently have a charge for water. Whether you drink it or not. I'm not sure that there is any Goodwill in charging two dollars for water when people are enjoying $120 breakfast. I would love to give this place five stars, but I cannot based on the food itself, compared to the high expectation for a very high priced brunch. The four stars are primarily for the wonderful service and the incredibly beautiful vibe. I really like the location and I loved the ambience of the restaurant, but I don't expect that I will be back as the neighborhood is filled with beautiful restaurants to choose from.
