Sunshine opened yesterday in North Miami Beach, and it's exactly what the neighborhood needed--a bright, welcoming coffee and matcha spot. Just like their daughter's name inspired the café, the cheerful yellow decor instantly puts you in a good mood and creates a feel-good atmosphere. I stopped by on their second day of opening, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Albert helped me decide on an iced Miami coffee with a pump of simple syrup and a splash of milk. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect pick-me-up! He also offered me a sample of the Greek yogurt with spirulina, which was refreshing, light, and perfect for the Miami heat. The menu has several items I'm excited to come back and try, including the Caesar wrap and an assortment of delicious-looking pastries. Everything looked fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I'm excited to work my way through the menu, and I can already tell this will become my new neighborhood spot. Welcome to the neighborhood, Sunshine!

What a great spot to drop into on your way to an early beach day. Owner & staff were amazingly friendly & the food & beverage options are quite decent. Looking forward to visiting them over & over again!

We were lucky enough to be walking by on opening day! If you're in the area, you can't miss this yellow-as-a-submarine, bright & cheerful shop. The staff was enthusiastic, friendly, and happy to chat with us. We learned this is their second location, the first of which is in South Beach. The light & bright breakfast burrito was exactly what I wanted, on the healthier side but packed with tasty flavors. As soon as I saw sweet potato and pickled onion, that was a wrap (literally) for me! My husband liked the Japanese egg salad toast so much that it was gone in seconds and I didn't get to try it. He said it reminded him of something you'd get at a Japanese 7-11 - which, if you haven't been, is high praise. The pancake cake was a sweet novelty we had to try. A little dry for me, but super sugary and fun. Served its purpose! The iced latte was okay. Fairly strong but very refreshing. Prices are... Miami Beach prices. Slightly steep for the portion size, but nothing out of line with what we'd expect. That said, if you really want to splurge you can get the $99 caviar toast or the $135 caviar bagel tower. All in all, fun and funky positive vibes spot where you're sure to find a breakfast, coffee, juice, smoothie or snack to enjoy. Order at the counter for a quick bite to eat at one of the small indoor or outdoor tables or to take with you on the go.

I do wish that the 10% late night service charge was more spelled-out, because I would've tipped accordingly having known that, instead of tipping a combined 30%. The worker did a great job, but I felt bad that he was the only person taking orders and making all of the sandwiches. One would think that the late night charge would give him a little bit more help behind the counter... Can't get enough of their house-made vinaigrette!

I most recently stopped by for a bite at this location a few blocks from North Shore Open Space Park, a.k.a. the full moon party. They have a few outside tables as well as an inside counter seating area. You typically order your sandwich & smoothie, pay and then your belly gets happy. They have a few regular sandwiches that they make fresh (i.e. not premade), as well as a "build your own" option on the menu. My go to is their Italian sub on a crispy baguette. It comes stuffed with ham, prosciutto, and salami as well as a slice of cheese. You do get to customize the green stuff, which for me is fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red peppers, and their little cornichons (baby pickles). As far as dipping sauces, they have the usual oil and balsamic as well as a lightly creamy vinaigrette, which to me had a slight hint of spiciness. I loved it! Going for my sweet tooth, their açai bowl is really packed with the açai paste, granola and fresh berries. The staff is pretty friendly and gets my order out on time. The spot is also dog friendly, I've seen folks come in with their four legged children.

Ceviche is the star, with big succulent pieces of fish, choclo (giant corn), sweet potato, and avocado soaking up delightful leche de tigre (ceviche juice). We also ordered grilled octopus with potatoes, causa (stuffed yellow potato) with tuna salad, and fried tostones (plantain). The octopus was sizzling and was seasoned to perfection. The causa was a work of art. And the fresh tostones were thick and savory, the perfect mix of soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We shared everything we ordered. The restaurant is a hole in the wall, casual with cute and colorful decor like llamas, flowers and neon lights, with indoor and outdoor seating. It's equally equipped for a date night or just getting some good food straight off of the beach. Can't believe how long we've passed by and seen it without realizing the quality feast awaiting us inside. Service was efficient, each dish arriving fresh and speedy to our table as soon as it was made. Chef Julio was friendly with us and asked how we enjoyed everything, especially the leche de tigre. When food is cooked with heart and soul, the difference is palatable. Prices aren't cheap but not expensive either and are very reasonable for what you get. 15% gratuity was added automatically. The menu takes some studying but the longer we read and re-read it, the more gems we found. And if someone in your party doesn't want seafood or ceviche, there are a few chicken, beef, risotto and other options.... something for everyone. Glad we finally dined here. Delightful! We will be back to dine in and maybe even to pick up some ceviche to-go to bring with us and impress at family gatherings.

While my friend ordered a jalea, I ordered their churrasco with a side of sweet plantains and black beans. The churrasco tasted like a regular steak, not with the smokey flavor I'm accustomed to with this dish. Wanting to enjoy a pisco sour with our lunch, we were told we would have to wait because there was a problem with the ice. When we got that first round, they were enjoyable & with enough of a buzz. While it did have the classic egg white foam, ours were missing the angostura garnish. When we ordered a second round of it, there was again a problem with placing the order and my friend and I settled for beers. The fact we couldn't fully enjoy this classic cocktail was why this review stays at three stars.
