I also liked how there was a lot of granola not only on top of the bowl, but also layered inside so that every bit has some crunch to it. Plus there was enough fruit to have a piece on almost every Acai spoonful. However I do think there was not nearly enough PB or strawberry jams drizzle on the bowl, and I was disappointed that this particular store was out of the PB Protein Crumble that would have normally gone on top. The person making the bowl offered a free add-on substitute to replace it, but in the end I felt like there just wasn't as much PB flavor as I would have liked. I used to love coming here and looked forward to it.l all the time! Dasia is extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked for a to-go menu so I could look at the available toppings instead of walking over to the menu on the side of the store, she replied no and made faces to the customers as I walked over to the menu. When my bowl was ready, she screamed my name at the top of her lungs. She only did this with me and said everyone else's name normal. I have also witnessed her be rude to a new employee (young black girl w/dreads - so sweet and nice) while training her. UM needed a a good spot near by. This açaí spot is located in Red Roads student apartments. Next to the poke place. It is a franchise with all the smoothies and bowls you would want ! The açaí bowls range from 13-16 with different bases. I went with the pura vida. I want to come back and do a combo bowl. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. I'm not even the biggest fan of Acai Bowls but am totally addicted to Playa Bowls as they offer different bases other than acai such as coconut, strawberry, and more! My favorite is the Cupids Bowl which was a special for Valentines that they are still running. Both were phenomenal, but I think the electric mermaid will be a go to order for me from now on. The fruit is all so fresh and delicious. The vibe here is beachy and chill. Best acai and best prices. I love that there are a variety of bases you can choose from. It's not just a classic acaí base. I really enjoy their kale base, and they allow you to do half/half with two different bases. In my opinion, granola can make or break an acai bowl. Their granola at Playa Bowls is amazing! It's perfectly crunchy and flavorful. There are dried blueberries mixed into it which adds a nice touch. Playa Bowls has a preset menu with suggested bowls but you can also customize your own bowl from scratch which is what I usually do. The staff is friendly. They offer a nice rewards program that gives you discounts on bowls and smoothies. The one thing that I have noticed is an issue with consistency. Sometimes, my bowls will be thinner and sometimes the bowls are not filled up all the way, other times they are piled to the brim. Overall, a great place for an acai bowl (or smoothie)! read more

Parking was a struggle here at first until I realized that you can park in the retail garage and it's free for the first hour so that's great! I loved how many options they have and they even sell their own granola. I can't remember the name of the bowl I had but it was one of the banana based ones. Ordered the Pura Vida bowl & added almond butter. The açaí mixture itself was not bad (wasn't great either) but the granola tasted strongly of artificial sweetener! Literally tasted like those awful lil pink fake sugar packets. Blech! While the strawberries on top were good, as was the almond butter, one out of every 3 blueberries was a mush. The whole thing just did not feel fresh, natural & vibrant, exactly what I'm looking for in an açaí bowl & this was not it, sadly. read more

The Acai, Green, Pitaya and Coconut are all great. I love that you can customize so I usually go for a 50-50 mix of açaí and green and go with the power bowl which has chocolate protein powder mixed in, especially on heavy leg days.
