Selection for toppings and mix-ins is varied, so you can get really creative and build your own but the signature combinations all seem really great as well. Do yourself a favor and ask for coconut oil drizzled over the bowl, it's to die for! I also love to ask for it blended into my smoothies! There are a few options for seating inside and outside. I heard it can be challenging but for when we went which was around 6pm on a Friday, it wasn't too bad. Ernie's has seating both inside and out. We opted to stay cool and go inside. They have a simple yet complete menu full of topping options. You can choose from preset bowls or build your own. My daughter went with The Automatic and I chose The Machine. Both were delicious. The acai was like eating soft serve ice cream and the fruit toppings were not only super fresh but the drizzled honey on top made the fruit flavor pop even more. And the granola added a nice texture to the bowl. Service was quick and place was very clean. Overall Ernie's was great experience especially as a first timer to acai bowls. Depending on the time of day, Ernie's will either be slow or very busy. During the week, as the local high-school gets out of class, Ernie's is bumpin' with teenage gossip and hormones. Still, if it's the only time you can make it, I wouldn't pass just because of this detail. The açaí itself is special--with no added sugar and a texture akin to actual ice cream or sorbet, I love love love that it holds up even on the hottest Miami day (hey, that rhymed!). The toppings are what make this sweet as the açaí itself isn't. I can't seem to get away from ordering "El Clasico" and the picture in my review was taken on a rare day where I wanted my bowl to be a little more indulgent with strawberries and Nutella. The service is solid--your order is taken politely, made quickly, and that is that. No muss, no fuss. However I don't know if it was one of the owner's or the worker's kids, but they were being extremely obnoxious and completely ruined my mood and ambiance. Added blueberries and bee pollen, it was chef's kiss! I love the way they served the acai, frozen yogurt style and I found that unlike other places, the açaí didn't melt super fast, making it enjoyable and fresh for a while. Just had my second bowl from Ernie's and can officially say it's my FAVOURITE spot for açaí bows in Miami. SOOOOO GOOD! So much flavour & so many textures. Had the Tropicalista this time which comes topped with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, pineapple, toasted coconut, almond butter drizzle, granola & coconut oil.
