Conveniently located directly across St. Pete Beach, Playa Bowls is my new favorite açaí spot in the Tampa Bay. I got the Pura Vida bowl- it was an açaí base with blueberries, strawberries, granola and honey. The açaí was sweet and tangy, the fruit was fresh and the honey and granola complimented the bowl well. I got mine to-go and took it to the beach, it traveled well and I got a complimentary ice pack to take with me. It's a very laid back, casual spot- great vibes. Something I love about Playa Bowls are the variety of bowls you can get. It's not just a basic açaí bowl place/ you can get a coconut base, pitaya, mango, nutella and so much more or even mix bases. And we ain't even talked about toppings yet. It can almost be a little overwhelming at first looking at their menu because of the sheer amounts of options between topping mixes and bases. They also always have fresh fruit sitting on the counters that they use in the bowls. Something about seeing that just makes it even a little bit better. I have also enjoyed the smoothies & coffee I have tried here. The coffee is definitely sweet but it can hit the spot if you're in the mood. This particular location does not have any indoor seating. It's definitely a stop and grab and go place, unless you want to brave the heat and sit outside, depending on the time of year. It's also literally minutes from the beach, so getting a fresh bowl of fruit/ açaí after a nice beach day is literally perfect. read more

"Delightful" is a word I don't use often yet it's the right word to describe this place. Nice gal that works the front. Teeny tiny place in the plaza so it's more of a grab and run with the exception of some outdoor seating with shade. "I got the power!" (The Power by Snap!) LOVE LOVE LOVE Playa Bowl! You can get just about any combo you like in a smoothie, bowl or juices. The menu is so vast, you have to look it over carefully. So many choices, so little time. They use the organic coconut milk here so I had to have that with some Dragon Fruit! Lucky for moi, that is already listed on the menu as the "Pink Pataya" So refreshing. I think it should be changed to the "Pink Dragon" OuiOui. The space is super cute & has the most gorgeous herringbone floor I have ever seen. Very cute shop! And the best part is the service is super friendly & cool vibes all around. OuiOui. The two lovely employees there were having such a great time together, the one lady even held up my Pink "dragon" smoothie haha so I could insta Yelp it. LOL. My #1 fave place on the island now. Loved the Nutaya bowl from Playa Bowls! The bowl consists of pitaya topped with blueberry flax granola, banana, blueberry, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, and Nutella. Okay, yum! This is evidently a chain with 170 locations, but this particular store just opened a few days ago. The selection of bowls is massive, the toppings are fresh and yummy, and you can even customize your bowl. You can choose a base of Açai, pitaya, banana, green (kale and vanilla protein), chia, or oatmeal. You can even do a half and half base from those choices. Toppings include a wide variety of fruit, drizzles, nuts, cacao nibs, coconut, granola, etc. Full nutrition info is available on their website. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is pretty quick. The outdoor seating area is a combo of covered seating and umbrella tables near a fountain in the shopping center. I was up at the trade winds resort, I was looking for a good snack that me and my mom could get sometime in that area. And I've heard a lot about playa bowls before and I really wanted to try it cause we also have one by our house but I've never tried it. So for breakfast we walked 20 minutes to playa bowls and me and my friend and my mom got so exited there is lots of choices on the menu. So I got the lola and they got the og açai flavors. It was really good! Just really cold also and wait time wasn't to bad just a long wait for a good time. Sitting area inside is low but outside there is a great sitting area plus a cute small water area. Overall really good just super cold and there granola is freeze dried and different from other places from my family and my opinion granola wasn't our favorite. Great treat or snack or even for breakfast/lunch. read more
