We were here a month ago while sail north, on our way home we had to stop again. We absolutely love this place and the staff. Amy was our bartender for lunch and we couldn't hear the evening bartender's name. We spoke to one of the owners, she was cooking but took time to greet us and was also extremely nice and welcoming. Eggrolls served are not eggrolls. They were filled with some kind of a dip and the skins were very tough and served way too hot to eat. 3 in our party had a variety: poppers, rueben and chicken. Good place to grab a snack and something to drink. Straight forward bar and pool table. There is a juke box. Small snack menu.. the usuals. I had French fries. Very tasty and served hot. A pint and a basket of fries cost 9 and some change. The only con was the size of the parking lot.. tiny doesn't begin to describe it. Other than that this place fits all the needs. First time visit to Alpena and absolutely loved my evening spent at Player's Pub & Grub. The staff was incredible, the food was delicious (honey barbecue wings), and the atmosphere was friendly. Enjoyed a couple drinks, a few games of pool, and great conversation with friends. I'm looking forward to coming here again next time I visit the area. read more
