Doesn't look the best when walking by but once you walk in- they have a great variety of arcade games new and old! Cool pinball games, skiball, Jurassic park, walking dead, fast and furious and tons of driving games. Lots of quarter games- kind of gimmicky. Aside from the selection of games- some don't work, some eat your quarters, some don't pay you tickets, some are out of tickets and there's seemingly nobody around but it is what it is. Best arcade on Hampton Beach. Great selection of old games and new games for every age group

I was so excited that I found an arcade during my time in Hampton Beach, NH. One of my earliest fond memories were playing arcade machines... heck I have had a lot of good memories playing arcade machines. When I see one, it gives me such feelings of happiness and nostalgia. So when I saw this arcade, I ran to it! My brother got there before I did, he is still a very active game unlike me. Classic arcade, plenty of older games in here: Galaga, PAC-Man, etc. definitely was a nostalgia trip. I was surprised to find this old robot gypsy fortune teller machine I hadn't seen since I was in 5th grade at my local county fair (Miami-Dade Youth Fair... be there the fair! Lol). It's funny how I can remember the most random things! Anyway, I took it for a spin for old times sake. I took a picture of my fortune if your interested. My mother of course laughed and said hey didn't you say you wanted to have a tarot/fortune telling soon? Well, you just got it and it only cost you less than an dollar! Unlike the 70 some you normally throw away. Saved you some money there! Hah! My mom, she can certainly troll me better than anyone. It certainly was a great place to visit and just made me really happy to relive some of the best parts of my childhood! If your in the area, come by and have some fun! read more

great employees The booth man with the red sox hat was very kind to me and a very helpful resource. The kid with the blue jays hat was very helpful it took us a couple of times of telling him to fill up the connect 4 but then he filled it up REALLY GOOD. This is an old arcade on the Hampton Beach strip. They have a nice mix of older games as well as newer games. A few of the machines weren't working. Other than that it's a pretty neat place to kill some time. All the games take quarters. We went during the off season so parking was easy to find right across the street. They don't have a restroom for customers which seems odd. read more

Playland Arcade has been around for a long time, I usually stop there over the summer to play some of my favorite 80's - 90's video games, skeeball, pinball, and prize machines. Next, some of the classic games that are still there are Q"bert, Kung-Fu Master, and Tapper. There are some new games that just came in such as Bat-Man and Fast & Furios 2 (motorcycles). Also, Playland Arcade needs to get some new and updated pinball machines in thier arcade. Most of the pinball games are very old just as Adam's Family, Twilight Zone, and Monopoly. Last, it's very hard to find arcades now a days, check out this game room if you make a stop in Hampton Beach. read more

My family has been coming here for years, but we were really disappointed this time. Many of the skee ball machines were out of order, with duct tape over the coin slot. I tried at least 10 of the remaining skee ball machines. Several took my quarter but did not give balls, while others did not keep score correctly or otherwise malfunctioned. When I finally found one that seemed to work, I discovered that it did not dispense tickets. When I raised this with a staff person, they offered me additional tickets, but did not refill the machine. We're disappointed that the owner does not keep the games in good working order. read more

Ugh. I played six pinball machines within 30 minutes. Every one of them had a game-ending malfunction. The only one I DIDN'T play was occupied by an older gentleman shaking the machine. If I owned this arcade and there were this many machines not working right, I'd be embarrassed! June 2016: Same problems. Much better arcades 2 minute walk away! read more

I love Skee Ball, old video games, pinball and photo booths older than god. Playland has all of these things and all the charm a beach boardwalk arcade should have. I have lots of amazing memories of Hampton Beach most of them are documented by a photo booth session at Playland. There are about 8 of them here of various ages and that do various things to you face. I always enjoy the old fashion black and white. The back wall is full of Skee Ball machines as every good beach arcaded should be. The only thing is that there are very few pinball machines. But they DO have the Simpsons version as well as the Simpsons video game! The staff here is always a tad friendlier than most arcades... almost like they don't hate their job and that it's sort of fun and entertaining. Get in your car, take the 45 min drive and grab some fried dough and have some fun! read more

One of the few arcades left at Hampton Beach, Playland is located further down past the Hampton Beach Ballroom Casino. Unfortunately, I don't really have any good things to say about this arcade itself. This game does have a good variety of games to play, that I will admit. Several classic games that will keep the nostalgia alive and kicking, to go along with newer games (mainly redemption ones) do make this place something that everyone can enjoy. Sadly, that's about all I can say that's good about this establishment. This place is always filthy in terms of cleanliness, and half of the time, a good amount of the games are broken. In addition to that, if a game stops working, good luck trying to get someone to help you out there. The staff (if there is any) is almost always occupied behind the ticket counter, and they will basically try to shrug you off in any way that they can to make it so that they can move on to something else. The best part about this whole thing though is that, if you hit a jackpot on certain games and it tells you to call an attendant, you would think they would give you a voucher (like Funarama does) for the amount of tickets you won. Nope, they literally dig through their trash to find old receipts that people have turned in, and add them up to be as close as possible to the amount of tickets you won. Seriously?!?! Also, the prize selection here is nowhere near as good compared to the other arcades in the area. In the end, I would skip this arcade and go to Funarama instead (or at least that boardwalk area where the Casino Ballroom is) in terms of if you are looking for a fun place to go to at Hampton Beach. However, if you are wanting to experience how an arcade is properly run in terms of attentive staff and people that actually really care about the customer's experience, I would highly recommend going to the OTHER Playland arcade at Salisbury beach (Joe's Playland), or Funspot up in Laconia. read more

The games are great, the Millennials at the redemption counter who are too busy to help you because they are on their phones aren't. I've been coming to this arcade since I was a kid. The place hasn't changed, however the employees have. Next time I won't be so patient. read more

I love this arcade! Talk about a blast from the past! I got to relive my 90's childhood with some of the games that are housed in this arcade. Another great perk is that most of the games are cheaply priced! I think people don't understand how wonderful it is that the most expensive game is 75 cents here... and that's only the newer gun games really. I come from the Boston area where I am lucky to even find a game that's only a dollar. I thought the prize section was well stocked with a variety of options but personally I don't really go to an arcade to win prizes. I think some of these reviews are a little extreme in regards to prizes and cleanliness... this isn't a Dave and Busters and quite frankly I am very glad that it isn't or else I would be paying $20 for a game card that's good for 5 games. Let's keep this business alive folks because it really is a gem! read more

Spent many hours here just me and my wife (when I have the kid I bring him to funarama ). Some of the arcades don't work as smooth as you would want them to, some of the sky ball don't work at all, the air hockey was broken last time I checked... Still, I'm not taking a single star from here, 5 stars. Do you know how hard it is these days to find an arcade with old machines? Mrs pac man, Ninja turtles, the simpsons, galaga... Picture booths, claw machines, cruis'n USA.. they even have a fortune teller machine... This year they already closed down the shooting gallery so this place better stay open... Nothing as good as feeling like a kid again, very nostalgic feeling when I come here with my wife... Please stay open ok? read more

good place!! super fun and you can get a lot of tickets fast. biggest issue i would say are the employees. some are actually helpful and very nice, but the ones at the counter tend to goof off and not pay attention. i guess that's to be expected with teenage boys, but still a great arcade! The staff was completely ignorant, rude and unconcerned towards anyone in the arcade. While I was in line, not only did they not acknowledge that I was standing there but the boy pulled out his phone to text for the next few minutes that I stood there staring at him. They then proceeded to eat their pizza while ignoring the children waiting around to cash in their tickets. They ignore any concerns or issues with the games. We had to follow one kid around in order to try to get our game fixed while another staff proceeded to skateboard around the arcade, only to have them give us a quarter.... read more

Tonight I had an employee swear in front of my two children. When I confronted the employee I was challenged in front of my kids. The manager of the arcade did not apologize. This is unacceptable. read more

Lots of games but some of the games are priced wrong. Really noisey and a little destracting. Staff was friendly but im still upset over games prices for a quarter and they were 50 cents. Update your prices on your grab maxhines. No bathroom onsite so left and didn't come back. read more

This is a great place. I take my kids here all the time. The workers are on their phones or talking to each other a little too much but once you say excuse me they are very nice and pleasant. They are also very generous at the prize counter. I like the old games and they have good racing games and a plethora of skee balls. The only downside is that they're pinball games are usually broken. I always look forward to coming back here every summer. read more
