This place has changed names and owners. It goes by LA Suerte De Sake Mexican grill. The food is very good and authentic. Super nice servers and manager. It seems like they have worked hard on cleaning it and keeping it clean. Huge, delicious skinny margaritas and a good selection of beer. Family friendly and affordable They have a nice porch to sit on that is dog friendly if you have a nice well behaved dog. I was surprised that when my California burrito came, the potatoes that are in it were French fries. It was still very good, but hopefully they will change that to diced fried potatoes soon. read more

Glad we choose this place, out of the two on Yelp. We were passing through going home from the beach. Not much open on a Sunday night. Family ran, excellent service. Chilie relleno as an appetizer... great! Shrimp enchiladas were good but not as described on the menu, it was made w corn tortillas and came w rice and beans not guacamole salad. Which they offered to bring too. And a little tweaking of the Parrillada Mexicana adding poblano peppers and no tomatoes. It was soooo good! The Carnitas in the mixed meats and the shrimp were big and not over cooked. Would go back just for that! Chips good, thin and crispy. Margarita, my bad for ordering blended. So on our way to Myrtle Beach from Charlotte. Not a lot of unique - but with Mexican being a top favorite... Taco Bell was definitely not gonna happen. Pulled into Wadesboro and flipped on the Yelp app to find lunch and whalah - Plaza Jalisco! So the state of Jalisco must have had the best mamas, because nearly every "authentic Mexican restaurant has it in their name or an item on the menu called the Jalisco Special. As a regularly these fine establishments, I usually try the Chile verde or Carnitas. To knock it outta the park, they have to perfect these recipes. Plaza Jalisco exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Overall, the Chile verse was super flavorful and tender. Well cooked and presented for the price. With drinks and lunch for two and an over 20% tip - our bill was less than $30! I like the way NC requires they post restaurant ratings. This one was a 99.5 and I could not disagree with that. Super clean, well ran and excellent food! What more could any customer expect? Attention Yelpers - it's on the way, plan to stop in! Thanks for a great lunch guys. read more

For some reason my sides were brought out first. This is a pet peeve of mine. I maintained but it irritated me so. The manager decided too take my order and did not include the salad I requested. Which I had to request again. Some places such as this one seem like those that are supposed to cater to the customer have sensory depravation, or they are not used to having customers from out of state. Additionally, being from Texas I am very aware of what Mexican dishes taste like. Even worse the bill was $18 dollars and change. Wow! Chicken Enchiladas, Rice/Beans salad and two cups of coffee. Coffee was great food was below good. I have been to other Mexican restaurants in the area and that plate is 50% less give or take a little. And 100% better, never the less wanted to give them a try. With all this being said Plaza Jalisco would not be recommended by me to anyone I would talk food too. Plaza Jalisco completely missed the mark on food quality and price. This was the perfect stop on 74 east for our trip to Greenville. Food was good and hot! They start you out with a complimentary queso/beef/bean dip which my 10 year old inhaled... their salsa is the standard mild salsa you find at your run of the mill Mexican place. My daughter got the super chimichongas and they had steak and not ground beef... superb! I just made a combo of chicken taco and enchiladas and it was very good! This is genuinely good Mexican food. This was our second visit and both have been wonderful. I was a slacker and forgot to write my review after the first visit so I shall cover them both here and now. Visit one: We were greeted warmly and welcomed to sit anywhere we liked. This was a slow time and there was only one other occupied table in the place so we had our pick. The menu isn't huge and complicated like most Mexican places. A simple easy to read trifold menu with plenty of choices to please anyone. This was refreshing in itself! I'm so used to the 14 page Odyssey listing vaguely described dishes numbered from 1-4012 that they usually heft onto the table. Anyway, we ordered the Texas fajitas for two. They were excellent!!! The veggies were fresh and nicely sautéed. The meats were well seasoned and not overdone, including plenty of shrimp! It was a generous portion for two at $18.99. Visit 2: Great service. Hubs had the Special Dinner which is a sampler type plate. It was very good. The chile relleno was the best we've ever had! I had the fajita burrito and once again enjoyed the fresh sautéed veggies and delicious guacamole! We really enjoy this little place and it's worth the 30 mile drive to enjoy it! read more

Plaza Jalisco is always my first choice for good Latin food in Wadesboro. I've eaten here countless times and I've always been satisfied with my meal and the service. In fact, I've gone there so much that they already know what I want to drink and usually eat when I sit down - they bring my drink and ask if I want my "usual." That's something that you can't always find in other restaurants, especially not in ones in larger metropolitans. The food is expertly cooked, and much of it is hand made in house, such as the tortilla chips and soft tortillas. The seasoning for the meats, veggies, cheese and sauces is great, and hard to replicate. The owners and wait staff are great people who honestly never take a day off, and they have a great atmosphere both inside and outside for patrons. Pretty darned good. Was in town visiting and decided to have a late dinner. Had the burrito Cancun and the beef was very good. Tender, well-seasoned, and grilled perfectly. Bonus points for serving the ubiquitous chips and salsa with a free side of beef/bean/cheese dip. Service was quick and the food was hot. They do lose a star for serving a weak margarita. Happenstance brought us to this excellent restaurant. I got Carnitas Plate and the husband got Arroz Con Pollo and the kiddo got grilled chicken. The carnitas were very tender and very good cuts of meat. They came with rice and beans, guacamole (I could have had more guac!) and a simple lettuce side with jalapeños - a nice spicy surprise that shows they are not pandering to less adventurous palates. The Arroz Con Pollo was also nice and tender and came with a good mix of veggies with it - nice to see that in a Mexican place. Not bad! Wadesboro is a safe bet on the way to the beach for food. My girlfriend and I split fajitas and they were good. Guacamole was excellent! If we were on the way to the beach again and craving Mexican food then we would most likely go again. They would get 4 stars although they lose one for service because it took a whole year to get our check at the end! Slightly annoying but didn't ruin good cheap Mexican food. read more

Excellent surprise. Always love finding hidden gems on Yelp where other have shared and we get to try new places. The first pleasant surprise was the brought the warm chips and salsa out with a bowl of warm beans, taco meat and melted cheese also. It was so good I ask for another. The chips were warm and fresh. Really good. Then the meal came out very quickly and was another pleasant surprise. Hot fresh and very tasty. I had the quesadilla mexicana. Extremely good. Another had Pollo con Crema. Another yummy dish. Very good day for Yelp myself and this great place to eat. Will keep this on my return list. read more

The food was good. Better than La Fogata, the other Mexican restaurant, in town. We sat on the patio which was nice to be able to do. Our major issue was service. Our waitress seemed to be very green. When we ordered drinks (2 people ordered beer but I wanted vodka) she said they only had Absolut. This seemed crazy-no well brand liquor? She also was under age and not able to serve us. We finally got our drinks and I am pretty sure that wasn't top vodka. We kept asking for napkins and were only given 3 at a time. Our family loves Plaza Jalisco! We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, very reasonably priced, and the service is always friendly and awesome! On my travels from Charlotte , I ran across this little restaurant. I checked the Yelp reviews and people seemed to like this place. Oh, I wish I could say the same. The service was great and prompt because there were only four other people in the restaurant. The waiter was very accommodating. I liked that. It was clean and I got to pick whatever I wanted to sit. I decided to order the ' El Paso' dish, a Corona and water. They promptly delivered some delicious chips, salsa and crumbled, ground beef with some delicious white melted, soft cheese over the beef in a small dish which was delicious. When my meal came, it was hot and it looked very appetizing. However , the flavors were lacking. The chicken was kind of bland. I really like Mexican food and this didn't have the 'sabor' that I was looking for. The beef seemed greasy. In fact I could see the little pools of grease. It was a shame because the little appetizer had the same beef and I was looking forward to eating it in my meal. The check came. I paid my bill and asked the waiter for a receipt. I really didn't get a real receipt. I travel a lot for business so I need a REAL receipt with the name of your company on it, cost of meal, taxes blah...blah...blah. I had to write the name of the restaurant on the check. The final word is: I should have ordered what everybody else recomende on YELP. The staff and the waiter were friendly and very service oriented! The restaurant was clean and bathrooms were clean. It was a very large restaurant so perfect for groups and families. When I come back this way I will probably give it another chance and try the dishes everyone else recommends. I think everybody deserves a second chance . Don't you? P. S. 3 stars. I really debated writing this review because I have been here numerous times before and it was good, however, the service and food for horrendous. My family and I went for dinner around 7. It should have been an indication when it took 10 minutes just to get something to drink and there was only one other customer in the restaurant. We ordered as soon as he bought our drinks because who knew if he would come back to the table. The food that came to our table was awful burnt and small portions, no one even ate more than 3 bites, we could have went to Taco Bell a whole lot cheaper. Never got offered a refill until we got up to pay the tab. Disappointing another restaurant that just doesn't care anymore, will not be back! read more

Nine ladies from Union County Community Service came to the restaurant for lunch. I requested to taste the sauce from their shrimp cocktail to ensure it is not too spicy just a taste of the sauce and was told they don't do that. I ordered chicken and shrimp and a Diet Coke. The food was fair. One of the ladies as she emptied her coke she was drinking into a foam cup to carry out found a fly stuck to her cup. We informed the waiter and was barely given an apology he, the waiter just played it off like nothing just said I'll get you another cup. No apology until I told another waiter possibly manager and he apologized but did not offer to have the meal paid for which was the least he could have done taking the nastiness of the occurrence into consideration. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN and I will make sure I tell everyone about the incident. I am currently sick on my stomach now I am not sure it could possibly be from the cleanliness of the restaurant. The service is absolutely great! Chips salsa with a bean cheese dip is served as soon as you get to your table. The team of waiters and waitresses gave consistent service for our needs as well as drink refills. The nacho supreme Meal was more than enough food. This is our in route stop to and from the coast. Always nice to support local and not be limited to fast food chain restaurants. We stopped into Plaza Jalisco on a whim while on our way to Holden Beach. The place looked great from the outside and even better inside. The waitstaff were very friendly and greeted us at the door. Everything looked clean and new. I ordered the Cheese and Steak Burrito, and my wife ordered the Jalisco Fajitas. My burrito was fantastic, the rice and beans were standard fare but the steak was high quality, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just the way it should be! My wife kept insisting throughout the meal that the fajitas were the best she had ever had! (And we enjoy eating at top dollar Mexican restaurants regularly!) She was also impressed with the home-made tortillas and the guacamole that were served with her fajitas. The thing that prevented me from giving Plaza Jalisco a 5 star rating is that our waitress, while friendly, was not very attentive and left us sitting for long periods before checking on us. We are willing to forgive that small shortcoming for the amazing food and atmosphere that we experienced, especially when you consider we both had leftovers and paid a total of $20.49! Wow! read more
