The best handmade , not frozen , burgers in North Carolina. I was visiting my sister and niece in…read moreLaurinburg for a week in March and wanted a good local burger. I read the great reviews of this place online , so I had to come see for myself. It's a small brick building on the side of Andrew Jackson Hwy in Laurel Hill. Small parking lot with plenty of business. They have a small indoor dining area that is a bar top facing the windows. A couple of picnic tables outside , which is where I ate mine. I got the Double Cheeseburger with Crinkle Cut Fries and a can of Pepsi. The burger patties were nice and thick and juicy. Hot and fresh tasting with lettuce and tomato. If you want a Traditional North Carolina Slaw Burger they can do that too. The Crinkle Cut Fries were hot , fresh , and tasty. I prefer Crinkle Cut or Steak Cut Fries , so this was a plus. The employees were also nice. They have so much other food to choose from. Bbq Pork Sandwiches , Burgers , Hot Dogs , Sausage Dogs , Corn Dogs , Fried Bologna Sandwich , Pimento Cheese Sandwich , Chicken Wings , Hamburger Steak Plate , Chicken Salad , Chicken Sandwich , Fried Okra , Fries , Onion Rings , Baked Beans , Green Beans , Slaw , and Mashed Potatoes , and more. So don't pass by this place on the way to the beach or elsewhere. Make sure to stop and get you some good ole Carolina Food made with Love.

I go to Austin, TX at least once a year for work and Jon G's is the best Texas-style BBQ I've had…read moreoutside of the lone star state (and the best kolaches I've had anywhere.) We arrived at 9:45 on a chilly, drizzly day and there were probably 50 people in line ahead of us. There was a friendly staff member monitoring and organizing the line and she told us we were there on a 'slow' day because of the weather. After the restaurant opened at 11, we waited in line for probably another 45 minutes until we got inside to order. The brisket was great, but the best things we had were the kolaches (stuffed breakfast rolls available before they open), Cheerwine hot link sausage, and fruit crisp. The Cheerwine sausage was the biggest surprise. It had a great flavor and wasn't sweet - I've never had anything like it before. When we get a chance to go back, we'll probably skip the pulled pork and mac & cheese. They were fine but there's a lot to try and these weren't anything special.

This is the best bbq and is 100% worth the wait! They are only open on Saturday and the line starts…read moreearly. If you don't want to sit in line all morning you can go later but they might be out of some things. We went this weekend and went around 2. We waited outside for about 30 minutes in a short line and then inside it took about 30 minutes waiting plus ordering time but so worth it! We got brisket, bacon burnt ends, short ribs and Mac and cheese. They were out of a few things we wanted to try but we'll be back! The brisket was so flavorful and moist. We got the less fatty because I dont like fat! The bacon burnt ends are so good! Even the fatty part is amazing and flavorful and I hate fat! The mac and cheese is cheesy and so good. If you like bbq this is a must try. The inside is small we took ours to go because it's not far for us. Be prepared to wait but its worth it.
