It takes a bit of a walk and a few escalators to get to the British Airways First Class Lounge, but it is absolutely worth it. This lounge has the space as in a huge area, the relaxed vibe, the very comfortable chairs and sofas to make this the perfect stop and break when taking that 15-20 hour flight to Asia with the one stop in London. Well this stop is the best. The team here is outstanding. They have a greeter 30 feet outside the entrance. There have always been 3 staff members at the check in which is in seconds. Love the selection and top shelf beverage and wine variety. Really love the ice cream cart. Get a genuine and full English breakfast here. The handy QR codes make it so easy and convenient to order and instantly receive food, drinks and amenities right at one's seat. Enjoy the ultimate shopping experience as you jump on the " Reserve and Collect" computers to reserve and shop from any store or boutique at the airport. All this while checking out the sun teasing with a ten second appearance and the planes entering and exiting the gates a few hundred feet away The team here keeps the buffet stocked and picks up used plates in a jiffy. The sad part is leaving after settling into that beautiful LazyBoy armchair and hopping on the sometimes crowded elevator( excuse me lift) as the escalators going down are temporarily out. It was my first time at the BA First Lounge in Terminal 5 at London Heathrow. I'd say it was a little over a 4 star experience, but definitely has the potential of being 5 stars. We didn't have a whole lot of time between connections to order from the QR menu which could have made this review higher. First of all, it's a modern looking lounge with great accommodations. I love that they have a row of private & clean restrooms that have their own sink and scented diffusers. They are very spacious with no unpleasant smells that I could detect despite it being a public restroom. It appeared to be very well-maintained. The coffee & tea bar was a huge highlight. It had French croissant pastries and Union Hand-Roasted Coffee. It was the best part of the lounge in my opinion. The views of the runway were also wonderful. We saw some very large jumbo planes taking off and landing from our comfy seats. It was a relaxing lounge. We were there at breakfast time. The breakfast bar had a good variety. It could have been better had the English muffins been toasted. I'm not sure why British Airways doesn't have toasters in their lounges. What's the point of having butter nearby? I tried to make a bacon roll out of it, and it just didn't work for me. My husband asked if there was any way to toast it, and they said no. So, they won't toast it for you. I did see other rolls there that may have been a better choice but I'd already placed the muffin on my plate. Other than that, it was an okay buffet for a British breakfast. I didn't see the ice cream cart that everyone talks about. That may be because it was too early for that. There's a good selection of alcohol as well. I have a feeling that ordering from the made-to-order menu is the way to go here, and especially if they have that Loch Fyne salmon that I had on the way back from Edinburgh. This lounge is accessible with oneworld emerald status. There is also a dedicated security area that leads directly into the lounge, which is great because theres no line at all. The lounge itself has plenty of seating all over the place. A full bar centrally located and a dining area with plenty of eating options. I was there during dinner hours, I didnt find the food to be anything special, but it was def better than whatever will be served on a plane. Be aware that this terminal is massive with its own train connecting 3 diff areas. So your flight might be up to 15-20 journey from the lounge if its in a far away gate. Would def recommend this lounge if you have access! read more

We have visited the British Airways First Lounge a few times, and it has been average for us. This lounge is big, super crowded, and it's difficult to find a seat at times. The food is average, the beer selection is poor, and the restrooms are in need of maintenance. They appear dirty and old. In at least three of the bathrooms, the toilet seats were not attached property. I did enjoy the ice cream cart they had when we visited in July. read more

Exclusive and comfortable but everything is on demand. The service and offerings are best in class. We enjoyed brunch in the dining room. Breakfast had just passed but our server was happy to get the kitchen to make Eggs Benedict even though lunch had begun. Our starter of scallops in sweet pea froth as well as the tomato barrata salad were lovely. Despite the "spot on eggs" my cheeseburger was cooked beyond ediblity. The chips were nice though my request for vinegar raised eyebrows? Very nice lounge. There is a nice quiet area in the back. Using the QR code on the tables, you can order drinks and even merchandise (Harrods, Fortnum & Mason shops downstairs) that can be delivered to you. Plenty of food, cocktails, etc. Using the same QR code you can reserve a shower rm (it was unavailable for hours, using the QR code link but we ended up going in person and asking, and there was availability!) The shower area is outside the lounge so bring your boarding pass so you can return to the lounge. Jude's ice cream was delish! read more

It's big and not as crowded. They have a simple buffet spread. We came breakfast time , it was enough. Live the coffee bar. The coffee is yum! Plus they had chocolate croissants and regular croissants by the coffee bar. As always, British Airlines would always have lots and lots of alcoholic beverages. Second time through this lounge. People always rave about it, but it is just okay. It is big and crowded. Food is okay. Not as nice as Cathay's first class lounge in T3. This is better than other BA lounges but it is a step below Polaris at the state side or Cathay lounge in T3. To qualify, you need to be Emerald OneWorld or BA gold. It is serviceable but not what it is cracked to be. If you are out of T5, still, this might be your best option. My favorite part of that this is above Fortum Mason. So when you out, be sure to grab some Fortum Mason goodies before boarding. read more

This lounge is better than Centurion lounge. We had access with a business class international flight. They have multiple areas where you can serve yourself wine or other liquor. We only had 15 minutes so just a quick drink. The food looked good with it mainly being served by staff. They had a selection of soup and sandwiches. There was one area of self-serve that was like a taco bar and one area with bread and pastries. There was also baskets with prepackage snacks around the lounge, especially near the alcohol. This is a nice lounge, rather upscale and beautifully decorated. They offer showers and have an open wine/champagne bar, where you pour your own wines, etc. Across the isle, they have a completely open bar with all the typical, top shelf spirits and mixers you need for basic cocktails. The few people I encountered and asked questions of were pleasant and helpful. It's not cramped nor overly busy, which lends itself to being more relaxing. Definitely would return. read more

This was my first time at this lounge and I had a three I was greatly surprised how large this lounge is. Upon arrival, the greeter asked for my passport to verify I was eligible to be in this lounge. The breakfast buffet was well presented with hot and cold options. The beverage areas were well stocked. The staff was able to keep up with clearing tables. Great job staff members. Plenty of work and seating areas. The views overlooking the runways were spectacular. There were showers available and a children's space. Overall a great experience. Looking forward for my return trip. read more

One of the better lounges in its class and specifically I mean the tier between a proper first class lounge and more pedestrian experiences like you would get at American domestic carriers; the "First" is a slight-of-hand term that distracts you from the fact that real top-of-the-line BA lounge is actually down the hall and not accessible to the pleebs just in the mere Emerald tier of One World; this is the Brits after all - there has to be some passive pecking order built into the system somewhere and this distinction "first" and Capital F First is most certainly on brand! You will definitely not feel special when you first walk into this expansive space. It's huge, it's a bit loud, and nothing here feels particularly intimate. After you walk around a bit you'll find that most of the usual amenities you'd expect from a lounge like this are indeed present - you'll just need to share them with a small army of weary travellers. The food here is often quite good. As this is London you can always expect some Chicken Tikka Masala and meat pies to be available, and every time I've had this duo it's been among the most delicious comfort food offers at any airline lounge in the world. This is also a Proper Adult lounge so spirits are not gated behind the bartender and instead are just available for you to pour yourself a double or six of Johnny Walker Black. So while it doesn't feel First Class exactly (too many people, food too simple, no made-to-order anything, etc.) it's definitely one of the better overall lounges operating today. read more

Definitely a nicer place to spend a couple of hours than the gate area. Plenty to drink (alcohol and juice too) and eat. Lots of healthy options to choose from. It was a bit crowded. My recent three hour layover in this lounge gave me a lot of time to consider its myriad flaws and disappointments. The customer is definitely not at the center of what they do in this lounge: SEATING/SERVICE Good luck finding a clean spot to sit. Glasses and plates strewn everywhere. Passengers were having to clear tables themselves. Meanwhile staff were hanging around TV monitors watching either the soccer or cricket games that were playing at the time. FOOD This is bad people. BA is not the "world's airline" it claims to be when it comes to food. The buffet is a sad, sub-standard, sloppy, unappealing carb-dense array of classic British fare. A world away from the high quality offered by Qantas and Cathay in their First Class Lounges. American Airlines Flagship Lounges are 3 or 4 times better than BA First. Staff also fed from the buffet whisking their plates off to a nearby office to watch the soccer. Coffee machines were out of order, glasses were not restocked, everything was messy. RESTROOMS/SHOWERS The number of showers and toilets is woefully deficient for the number of customers. Expect long waits for both. OVERALL British Airways cost-cutting and outsourcing measures are on full display to its clientele at this location. Once again they miss the opportunity to surprise and delight their customers. Expect a low-quality experience with cheap, bulky, unhealthy food. read more

I have to say I enjoy this than going up to the buffet myself and hemming and hawing what I want to eat. I decided on the cucumber and cream cheese sandwich and brownies. I love how the crust was cut off. The sandwich was very light and enjoyable. The brownies were so rich and I could only eat one of the two. Plenty of individual bathroom closets and showers. From your table, you can order entrees. The salad bar hasbgreat options for vegetables and chips. There is also a variety of 1/2 sandwiches to choose from. The entrees/apps are delivered to your table via the app. The bar is self serve with a modest selection of liquor and pre-mixed drinks. After 2 years of conscripted COVID isolation, we finally had a chance to travel abroad via British Airways. Due to shortages of staff, airport chaos and general not in a groove yet, as a traveler please be patient and not to stress out so much. Overall I can only state that our business staff were attentive and made our travel most pleasant. If British airways is able to accommodate us during these heatty time, I can't wait when air travel smooth into groove again. The wireless did not work very well and it was extremely hot even with wearing light clothes. British Airlines you need to put some effort in this lounge, considering that people are spending around 20K for a round trip in first class. read more

Having my arm in a sling during the trip didn't limit me thanks to there help and attentiveness. The bottom line is no one likes to wait at the airport. Overall, we enjoyed the first class lounge in terminal 5. I was able to upgrade my ticket at the last minute, so we took advantage of the lounge. They offer spa treatments as well, though they were booked so my wife was not able to take advantage of this amenity. We dd enjoy the made to order breakfast, which consisted of smoked salmon and eggs, as well as eggs Benedict. Although we were expecting to get a lot of food while on the flight back to Seattle, it was a nice way to start our flight by sitting in the lounge and having breakfast. Next time, I will have to upgrade earlier so that I can take advantage of more of the offerings at this lounge. read more

It's no Concorde room, but it's near enough. Great food (in a buffet style, or available to order at your table) wonderful wine and champagne options, spirits and beer all self-serve. Easy entry from the 1st class check in. Especially after the redesign, you can stroll straight in. Staff are attentive, there's a large seating area behind the glass doors which is nice to look out of in summer time. Two restroom areas, a shower and spa facility and luggage storage. It would benefit from a little better AC, and maybe a touch more space as finding a table during peak times can be tough. Other than that it's hard to fault. They do not announce flights here, so make sure to check your boards frequently or at least have the app handy. read more

This was an absolutely premium lounge experience! I really enjoyed the gigantic breakfast buffet, which I was surprised to find even had vegan options. There is an endless supply of water, coffee and juice so you can easily re-hydrate however you need to. First class lounge wish, it is really good, it is not an elite lounge though, that would have to be the Concorde Room for BA. The food selection is way better than the Galleries Lounge upstairs, the selection is boarder than the business class lounge, and they have a menu for cooked to order food as well. The hard liquor selection is really top notch stuff; the beer selection is kind of lacking, same selection as the business class lounge. Because of the exclusivity, people are not piled on top of each other. Things they can work on are: beer selection, UK has some many good local microbreweries it doesn't hurt to bring in more variety, and there is no flight help desk here, you have to go to the Galleries Lounge upstairs. read more

I have never wanted a flight delayed before, but this lounge deserves some serious time spent there. It has a terrace with light and good napping places, a main area with outlets for devices from the US, UK and Europe, a champagne lounge, tastings of whine and whiskey (or whisky, depending on where you are from). If you need to work, there is a full business lounge, and there are showers and spa services for those who want them. Fans of scotch (or The West Wing) will be happy to note that you can have as much Johnny Walker Blue as you want, and it's all on the house. The breakfast buffet is a standard English breakfast - I found out later that you can order other items if you want. I tried to use every part of this lounge, but I only had about 45 minutes. I wish I had an hour or two. I recognize that everyone has different tastes and experiences, but I can't understand why this lounge would get less than a 5, especially from anyone who has seen a US lounge. If you have the ability to get in, I definitely recommend it - just make sure that you have enough time. read more

This lounge is the highlight of your journey through Heathrow. Before they opened the swanky United lounge on Terminal 2, the BA First lounge had no rivals. It's massive, comfortable and very well serviced. Food and drinks options are outstanding, you can even order from a menu if the buffet is not your cup of tea. I think I've grown a bit addicted over time to the tea biscuits by the ubiquitous coffee machines. And if you have a sweet tooth, the afternoon tea time will provide plenty of sweet options, from coffee cakes to lemon tarts. The bathrooms are also well designed, probably by someone who's actually traveled, for once. There's plenty of room to get changed, hooks to hang your coat and a table to lay down the bag while you're rummaging through your clothes. This review is based on my experience using the First Lounge at Heathrow terminal 5. It was located on floor 2 and from beginning to end was and is pardon the pun, "first class experience". I think it always starts with first impression and that is by the staff, they were cordial, smiling and service orientated. Very nice indeed. I guess it is called the Concorde Room and according to them, and we agree, it is the epitome of elegance, the perfect setting for both relaxation and business. It was and is inspired by the finest 5 star and boutique hotels, luxurious furniture and traditional chandeliers creates a calm where we enjoyed: A restaurant within the Lounge, offering private booths and full waiter service, Bar, serving complimentary champagne and fine wines as well as freshly ground coffee and afternoon tea Updated business suite, with internet and printer linked computers, . It also converts to a fully equipped boardroom that can comfortably accommodate 8 people, very nicely done Oh how I wanted to use these, the private cabanas, hotel-style rooms, with a comfortable day bed and en suite bathroom for complete relaxation I really wanted to sneak my honey in there and "do it" but she was too nervous. This is where it gets better, they offer Elemis Travel Spa The Elemis Travel Spa, where we received a complimentary two-tier treatment ! Oh and there are 20 shower suites available to use, and wanted to sneak my honey in one of them but she was too shy! I have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world, dined at many of the best restaurants in the world and now have used the best airport lounge ever! read more

I enjoy the BA first lounge. It actually is what that motivates me to keep flying BA whenever I fly. Being in the first lounge means you can order real food (instead of just the buffet), get good champagne, make your own bloody marys (with awesome top shelf liqueur, and have a real relaxing place to chill for a moment before your flight. The food orders are generally speedy. I make sure I have about 15 minutes if I go in for a buffet and 25 minutes if I plan on ordering before boarding time. They also have free newspaper and magazines so you don't have to pay for it. On my really cheap days, I bring my empty water bottle into the lounge to fill it with bottled water... Totally a win! read more
