I would strongly recommend that you make reservations and not just turn up. It isn't huge, but they do take priority over reservations. Staff are attentive and constantly cleaning and clearing dirty dishes away. Food is your standard hot breakfast items, with fruit and pastries. We had a layover in Heathrow and spent maybe fifteen minutes of it at this Plaza Premium Lounge, an airport lounge that was somehow less pleasant than the public parts of the airport. We were told it was full when we rolled up and decided to wait in the seats just outside, which were perfectly comfortable, with plenty of room for our kids and our stuff. We went in when we could, though, using the same Priority Pass as everyone else, a free benefit of our very popular credit card. The lounge was generic, which was fine, and exceedingly hot and crowded, which was not. We stuck around just long enough for my husband and sons to grab some sad-looking pastries, then got the hell out. I would've been okay going back to those seats outside, but they were, predictably, taken. We ended up at an airport restaurant paying for food and drink just so we could sit somewhere a little bit more relaxing and civilized. In theory, a lounge should serve that exact purpose, but I wouldn't count on it from the Plaza Premium Lounge. read more

Anywhere else, this lounge would be a solid 3-star experience, but it's Heathrow, so I'm giving it a 4! Honestly, the main reason I liked it so much is because it's miles better than the other Priority Pass option in this terminal, the truly dreadful Aspire lounge. Plaza Premium Lounge ended up being a great pick during our layover. There was no wait on a Sunday, and I can see why: the space is huge. The food was good with plenty of variety, including some healthier choices. I also appreciated the alcohol-free beer, which the other lounge doesn't bother offering (but really, what does it offer?). Service was great too. Staff were constantly coming by to clear plates and tidy up. And yes, they even have bathrooms... unlike Aspire. Notice a theme?! My only real complaint was the Wi-Fi. Heathrow's own airport Wi-Fi was noticeably faster. Other than that, this is a solid lounge, and we'll definitely keep coming back during LHR layovers. read more

I can't believe I paid to sit in here. We had a longish layover in Heathrow, and we're not quite fancy enough to be qualified for the BA lounge. So we opted for Plaza Premium in hopes of a quiet place between flight It's ... definitely a place to sit. There are chairs here. There's food. How you can make Mac n cheese taste like oniony slime is a mystery. There's like three ingredients to Mac and Cheese and onions is not one of them. Even in fancy mac. Panko, yes. Onions? No. There's waaaaayyy too many people here. You have to crawl around people to get anywhere. There's bathrooms, but lines to use them. There's also screaming kids. I'm not a lounge expert or anything, but I feel like maybe if a kid (not talking baby here. More late toddler) is screaming outside the lounge, the staff might ask the party to cool off before coming in and leaving a sonic trail of chaos inside? I dunno ... I've been up for 20 hours now. So I'm throwing two stars for now. Probably should be one but I'm the kind of tired that makes me question my overall perception of reality. read more

A good place to come before my early morning flight. For breakfast they had yogurt, bread, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, and mini croissants and pain au chocolat. There is also tea, coffee, infused water (two flavors, which was a nice touch), juice, soda, and alcoholic beverages. The food was fine although I was disappointed by the sausages. The staff was courteous and cleared things quickly. They do have showers as well as restrooms. It would have been great if they had more plugs and outlets. Also I found the fact that they had bread but no toaster a bit odd. Overall, adequate. About the same as the Aspire Lounge but with restrooms. read more

The wait time is minimal, but that also means that they pretty much just let everyone in...which was the case for me on a Saturday morning. They allow the lounge to go over 100% capacity, but they do warn you at check in that there might not be seating available and you will have to stand (which was true for about 10 minutes, but even then you are basically shoulder to shoulder with the other guests). Does not feel like a lounge on a crowded day...I would recommend get your food, which was on par for airport lounges, then just go back to the regular waiting area, which was actually more spacious and less crowded then inside the lounge on that particular day for me! read more

This lounge is located in terminal 5 of Heathrow airport by the A gates. I used my Amex card to get in but also allow priority pass and some paid options too. This is one of my least favorite lounges. It is very small and always over crowded. The quality of the food is mediocre and the options are limited. Going to a lounge is meant to remove some of the stress of going to an airport but this lounge seems to add to it. You're probably better off paying to eat at the weatherspoons pub restaurant just next to it. read more

We went to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow T5 for a short visit before our flight. Upon arrival, we were told that the lounge was full but that we could still go inside to try to find a seat. When we entered, the lounge was completely full (Thursday at 2pm), save 30 seats which were reserved. While trying to look for a seat, we were told to get away from this area. The staff seemed far more interested in serving the reserved seats than anyone else. One staff member asked a guest to write a review for the lounge, and stood over him to watch as he did. That being said, none of the staff were outwardly rude or offensive. The food and drink offerings were small compared to other lounges. There were two dishes and a few sides, as well as a small salad bar. Overall, the lounge was quite small and crowded for a seemingly-quiet day at the airport. While I'd think twice before going again, it was fine and allowed us to get a light bite before our flight. read more

Ouch. It's Thunderdome in here. If you come anytime during the day, you have to wait for a seat and this is AFTER you pay to get in. Everyone is "saving" a seat. And it's open air, so it feels like no A/C. The food is fine but you'd be standing up eating it. Ask to take a look inside before you commit. Apparently that's allowed? Overheard it. I felt like this lounge was a necessary evil during a recent layover. I had 10 hours in London after having a six hour layover in Philadelphia and a six hour flight. I felt like I needed to be able to relax somewhere. I did not have access to a first class lounge in this terminal so I paid for two hours and access to a shower. They told me the shower was in use and so they gave me a pager for when the shower was ready. After I downloaded their app, I also got a third hour for free. When I went to redeem the extra hour, the person told me I could not because it was not actually an extra hour however, the app said it was in the manager agreed so they added the extra hour. So altogether I spent 3 1/2 hours with access to a shower for about $60. The shower was worth it because I felt much more refreshed afterward. There were a couple towels in the bathroom as well as a toothbrush which was nice. For the shower you get 30 minutes which was more than enough time. The part where I have an issue was the food. The food was Breakfast when I was there. The eggs were powdered and I don't mind powdered eggs, but there was not enough liquid and they were still powdery. There were also some sausages and some fresh fruit and granola. I had some fruit a bite of the eggs and a bite of sausage. Nothing tasted great. I mainly just had some juice and had a Sprite as they did have some refrigerators with different sodas. It was very packed and there weren't many places to sit when I first entered. I was able to find a chair at the end of an aisle to sit at. Luckily the patriot went off quickly and was able to shower. When I got out of the shower, there was some seating in the back behind a wall that I don't think many people knew about so I actually slept there for about two hours which was nice. The furniture is old, there were holes in the carpet and the seams on the furniture were coming apart. For the money they really should upgrade and add some new furniture that is more comfortable. Overall, it was OK and I would probably only use again if I needed a shower or just felt like I needed a quick refresh on a long layover. read more

Above average hot food (for a Priority Pass lounge), bottom shelf drinks, very crowded, and a long skinny space with worn seating but great views. The Amex Centurion lounge in T3 required a transfer and re-entry through security so we came here instead. Family of four, amex allows 2 guests with card holder so I paid 20 pounds for 1 person. Receptionist allowed it as normal is 30 pounds per person apparently. Lounge is pretty quiet and has full buffet with juices, soda, water, coffee, and tea unlimited. Food here is not worth 20 pounds. Tables take quite long to get cleared and food seemed to be all gone quite often when we got up. It's ok if you have amex and it's a free snack but I'd much rather be in the Centurion T3. read more

Maybe just bad luck on our part on this particular day. We're AmEx Platinum cardholders. We were through security two and a half hours before our departure. Went to the lounge where we were put into a queue. Told the lounge when our departure was. (Note they do not allow lounge access more than three hours prior to departure.) Finally advanced to the front of the queue after a bit less than two hours but by then it was too late as we were instructed to go to the gate. The only realistic way I can see to actually access this lounge would be to arrive to the airport five hours early and put yourself in the queue at that time then wait outside the lounge for two hours. I hope AmEx keeps track because this lounge seems to lack adequate capacity. read more

Imagine that someone long ago thought it was a pretty good idea to have a nice place for passengers to await their departure. Then imagine someone else was put in charge who not only didn't really give a damn about passengers, but instead went out of their way to make sure their entire experience would as ugly, filthy and grotesque as possible. Clueless staff that haven't been told which way is up, leaders who lost their compass years ago, this is a jerry-built shrine to mean-spirited, corrosive customer service - and overstuffed with ripped, torn and stained furniture that surely must have come here to die - it is all beyond woefully tired. It's feels that everyone who works here has abandoned all hope. Instead, go straight to your gate, grab some fries at any nearby McDonalds and answer your email instead of battling through enough demons to fill a county in hell that happily have taken up residence at the Plaza Lounge. We reserved ahead of time due to a long stopover between two 10+ hour flights. We were hoping to have a place to really stretch and relax, perhaps a quick nap if possible, have a nice bite to eat, and perhaps shower. The staff were very nice, but the food was disappointing. Pea soup, veggie jalfrezi, dry white rice, roast potatoes, mac n cheese that was very runny, and a chicken tomato dish. There was some kind of dried out sandwiches available, slices of cheddar cheese, and mediocre brownies. Just not much choice, nothing really for kids, and nothing truly looked appetizing. The only beer available was Carlsberg, which was disappointing as I was looking forward to a good British beer. My husband paid extra for the shower, which appeared clean and they provide a towel, shampoo, and body wash. I'd recommend having some flip flops to wear while showering. There aren't any couches, so don't plan on grabbing a nap. Won't be using this lounge again. read more

There were prices for drinks but I asked for a white wine, another guy got a gin and tonic and there was no charge. Reviews state there is a two drink maximum, others say open bar, others say they paid. The decore is not deluxe but the buffet was generous and the food was very good. Not sure I would pay for this lounge unless desperate but it was a Priority Pass Freebe or a drink and snack prior to my going to the United Club at the gate. read more

this is a small lounge, with no food options, crowded... all the plans you have for your staying there (sorry for the spoiler) are not going to happen: you won't be able to charge your phone, won't be able to drink variety of coffee or juices... even consider that perhaps you have to sit separately from your partner because there's no room for both of you. don't waste your money!! read more

Wow don't really even know where to begin. Food was horrible, furniture looks like it was bought at a garage sale. None of the staff look like they are happy. I honestly felt bad for the workers about how depressed they looked. Today when I went in the options were pretty much fried potatoes and bread. I'm not even mad, just more shocked this bad of a lounge could exist at one of the most famous airports in the world. I have probably been to close to 50 lounges around the world and this is the bottom of the barrel. Gotta give this place props. Hot food, beer and wine are free, other drinks are priced reasonably (3-5 pounds for well drinks). Large seating area, not crowded on a Sunday evening at 5pm. I initially asked if they accepted Priority Pass when I arrived and they said no. I was confused, but quickly asked about Amex Platinum. They said Platinum entry was free with two guests complimentary. All 3 of us have enjoyed 3 hours of great food, quiet spacious environment and a couple drinks each. The lounge is spacious with a couple different sections to sit in for families or when traveling on your own. Location isn't that great being at the end of the airport and not being told where your gate is until 15 minutes before boarding makes it a bit hard to relax. My flight ended up at the opposite end of the airport. Make sure to check the board often because there's no announcement. It is close to the kid's play area so if you have kids, it's just a 2 minute walk to where your little ones can play. The food for breakfast was better than most other lounges I've been to and the lunch time snacks were pretty good as well. Restrooms were quite small. It doesn't get as crowded as the priority pass lounge so that's a plus. Overall, positive experiences here. read more
