Staff will steal your money ! Just recently made a withdrawal of 6k in 2k increments and on the 3rd withdrawal the staff said that I wasn't allowed to make a third due to Wester Unions policy. I believed them and was going to wait it out but the ln I went to another location to talk about it and they told me there is no policy that says that. When I went back to confront them they had processed the payment and collected it for themselves. After hours with the police and and incredibly defensive staff who refused to give me any answers I got nowhere. I've reached out to corporate and am hiring a PI. Take your money else where. Went to same store on 6/1/21 filled out the paperwork, THEIR form states 5 days after stop payment OR 30 days from date money order was issued. Today 6/29/21 still have not cut a check that they state once it's cut it will be mailed and will be an additional 3 to 5 business days. UHM what about the 5 days OR the 30 days?!!???!!! I needed a large money order and normalIy I would get a cashier's check from the bank. Since the bank closes at 12 on Saturdays, I wanted to see if I could get a money order from PLS using my debit card instead of going to the bank. I didn't want to wait in a PLS line just to be told that I couldn't pay with a debit card so i called their toll free number. Recording asks you to leave your name and number which I did. This will never get my business again, I went in last week with a check for $500, cashed it no problem. I go back to the same place, have the same guy take care of me, and the check was from the same company, a very well known established law firm in LA. He wouldn't cash my check because he needed to verify the check, which he didn't do last week, I told him the lawyers are not in their offices at 7:15 at night, you're not going to get anyone, this was only after he walked away and spoke to his manager in the phone for 10 minutes. This is money that I live off of and rely on it to get by until my lawsuit is finished. These people make up their rules as they go, the check was for 3k which they had history of me doing a mobile deposit check of 3k at a different location several months earlier, but because I didn't want it deposited to one of their scam bs money cards they refused to cash it. I will never go back to this location, im now left stranded with no money, no transportation and a long way from home. I have had a pls card for over a year maybe more. I'm dissatisfied with the customer service as well as the service itself. I went into another store that was closer to my house to buy a money order and I was not able. I had to find a pls location and go there to do it and was charged $10 to do it. When I asked why the cashier said, "It's the system." What?! That's it? That's all you got? Professionally a better explanation should have been given. The cashier should have cared and been at the least polite instead of off hand. They charge me a monthly fee and every time I swipe the card. Verify the check and move on, instead I was treated like a criminal because I'm black! A simple reimbursement check from my credit card company and they asked for everything except a pint of blood! I purchased a money order on 02/02/2021 for $955.00 from PLS on Lyons Ave. It's was stolen out the drop box at the office at my residence. I went back to see if they could track the money order and put a stop payment on it, and I paid 15.00 for stop payment. They said they'll investigate for 30days and you will receive check within 45 days. I was told they mailed it to me and it was returned for the wrong address, which isn't true. The free money orders brought me here. This is my second visit to this location. Today was during peak hours and the wait was about twenty minutes. They had 5/10 windows open. That's decent for the first of the month I guess. Instead of tellers walking around asking people the purpose of their visit and handing customers a post it with their money order amounts listed (even if it's just one)they could have had more windows open to serve people. But the money orders are free so I'll be back. Only after peak hours so I can be in and out. On my first visit there was no line and two tellers open. A perfect ratio for the customer.
