Point Breeze? More like Point Sleaze:…read more If you're considering Point Breeze in Saratoga, NY, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. We ordered a new Bennington L22 in August 2024 with an October delivery date. That date came and went. In January 2025, we were contacted to confirm details--only to find out the boat had "never even been ordered". We were then promised April delivery. That was also missed. What makes this even more concerning is that Bennington later confirmed our original boat had actually been delivered to Point Breeze in late September 2024--directly contradicting what we were told. I'm not sure if this was due to dishonesty, incompetency, or both. When the boat finally arrived in mid-May, things only got worse. During the first test run, water was draining out of both pontoons. A brand-new boat--with cracked welds. Point Breeze claimed the issue was handled, saying repairs were approved by Bennington and replacement pontoons were on the way. That turned out to be false. Bennington had no knowledge of the issue, had not approved repairs, and had not sent any replacements. Nor would they warranty any of the work by Point Breeze. Even after repairs, the boat continued taking on water and listing. We ended up going elsewhere and paying for a quality repair, just to make it usable. Between the missed order, repeated delays, misinformation, and delivering a defective boat, this was easily the worst purchasing experience we've had. The owner, Tom Caringi, lied to us with ease. Bennington was no help either. My advice, don't purchase so much as a life vest at Point Breeze, and for a pontoon, buy a Manitou.

When I went to pick up the motor I brought my boat, and I'm glad I did because it needed to be bolted to the transom and the head mechanic made sure the job was done right. I can't remember his name but i'm pretty sure his first name started with a G. He was also very helpful with any questions I had about my new motor, so for that I'm thankful. Thank you for all you're help and the great service. I would definitely do business there again. John D.

He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met. (Lynn, if you are reading this, pencil us in again for next summer, we'll be back!)

The store is…read morewell stocked and had a good mix of food, products, snacks, beer, etc. The staff was pretty friendly. My two biggest complaints are: (1) the price to launch a small human powered boat is too high in my opinion. Just go to the Town Park instead. You can park and launch for free, however you cannot park overnight there if you are island camping. My other gripe (2) is that they have a lakeside grill / food truck which is horrendously overpriced! A kebab and a small dry salmon burger were $24 EACH with no real side, unless you count a single leaf of lettuce. Well, I'll never do that again. What a rip off. It's too bad because it's a cool idea and the place looks cute. I guess it's the whole captive audience thing.

On top of all this, they can arrange a guided tour of Lake George for you, answer questions you may have about the area, and find rental accommodations for you. There is also a boat inspection station here to keep your boat and our lake clean. There's probably more that I'm leaving out. Tom & Jeremy (and their staff) run the nicest marina on the lake and we're very lucky to have it in Huletts Landing. Stop by in your boat or car during the summer and you'll be sure to come back.

We chose Coeymans Landing Marina to haul, dismantle, and load the boat for shipping to South Dakota at the end of the trip. We chose Coeymans only because a lot of other online reviews were good and they used to be a big Mainship dealer in the 1990's. We pulled up on a windy Saturday morning. Five people helped us in -- a combination of marina employees and just friendly slipholders. Owners Hedy and Carl were very, very friendly and helpful. We went over the dismantling with Eric the service yard foreman for about half an hour, and then left to fly back to SD -- and they took it from there. Eric was fantastic. Without my even asking, he texted us photos of the work literally every few hours. The props had gotten damaged on the trip and Eric took care of getting them shipped out, reconditioned and rebalanced by a service in Newburgh, and then delivered back to Coeymans just in time to get loaded on the 18-wheeler. They did a fantastic job on prepping the boat for shipping, replaced the aft air conditioning unit because the old one was shot, and loaded that boat so well that everything arrived in South Dakota in good shape after a 1,500 mile road trip -- and all for a very reasonable price. We couldn't be happier with Coeymans, we got lucky.
