Great spot to get a haircut! My cousin is a hair stylist so she usually does my hair but when I moved to Bellingham it became way less convenient for me to see her. I was nervous coming to Plum because my hair is sacred to me and few people are worthy of cutting it. Turns out I worried for nothing because Evie did a fantastic job with my long hair! She did a dry cut then washed my hair after - which meant my hair wasn't too short! I was so relieved and happy when I looked in the mirror at the end of my cut. Few day-to-day things are more shocking, disappointing and devastating than getting a terrible haircut so I would definitely recommend heading over to Plum and getting your hair did by Evie! I took off a star because there was someone else's hair on the floor when I got into the seat. Not a huge deal but definitely a little off-putting. PS She also has a really simple system to book online which I really appreciate as it's often difficult to connect with stylists on the phone:) read more

I got a haircut from Britt and she was great at listening to what I wanted and looking at photos. I don't think I've ever had a stylist totally nail a haircut like she did! I went from a chin-length bob to a pixie cut with the bangs left long, and it looked exactly like the main photo I'd shown her! When I decided to go all the way short the next week, she got me in and did a great job even-ing things out. Plus all the B&B products they use smell amazing. The studio is a little on the loud side, and they could really work on receptionist services. I got the answering machine almost every time I called, and was surprised when I went in to see there was actually a person there to (presumably) cover the phone/front desk. The one time I did talk to the receptionist, she 'didn't have access' to my stylist's schedule, so I wound up texting Britt directly. In which case.. what's the point of a receptionist? Other than that this is a great salon with good products and talented stylists. read more

I was new to town this spring and searching for a Bumble & Bumble salon. The first salon I found wasn't a good fit, but I love this one. Sara is a great stylist and her prices are reasonable. My hair is somewhat challenging and I find she aways asks for input, listens carefully, and makes suggestions too. In addition, she's a warm and lovely person. I referred her to a friend who also loved the cut she got. Aesthetically, I appreciate the nicely decorated, roomy, downtown location with lots of natural light through the front windows. read more

Today I walked in at around 2 PM, and I asked if they took walk-ins. They said that they normally do, but they only had three people in the salon and they were all booked. One girl, Abi, said that she would have an opening at 4 PM if I was willing to come back. I made the appointment, and it was enough time for me to find somewhere to eat my late lunch/early dinner and go into a few shops. I returned about half an hour early for my appointment, and they had coffee and magazines available while I waited. (I am SO GLAD I waited). Abi did my hair today, and I could not be more in love with what she did!! She took her time and really listened to what I had to say. I had her cut my hair from an awkward almost-shoulder-length to a very short pixie. She had a very good feel for how my hair would work with certain things, and at one point my hair was looking poofy on the top. (I have a lot of hair). As soon as I was about to mention it, she had already begun to fix it! It was a fabulous experience, and I now have her card in my wallet to make sure that no one else ever has to cut my hair! Everyone was nice and accommodating, and they all seemed to know exactly what they were doing. I can't wait to come back! read more

I have been getting my hair done by Glenda, the owner, since 2006. She is awesome! She asks me what I want to do with my hair and I ask her to make me look pretty. And she never fails to impress me. I leave the salon feeling fresh and beautiful every time. All the stylists are very professional and the decor is simple and classy. My husband goes to Leslie. She does a wonderful job as well. read more

I have gone to Plum several times and receive nothing but great haircuts. HOWEVER, their customer service SUCKS. I have to tried to call multiple times to get someone on the phone and when I try and set up an appointment it seems as if "everyone is booked." This may be true, but answer the dang phone! I shouldn't have to call 7 times to set up a haircut. read more

I was in town visiting family and in need of a cut and color, looked Plum up off of Yelp and thought I would give it a shot. The location was easy to find with plenty of parking. The prices were reasonable and the gal who did my hair did an ok job. My one and only complaint was that she did not tone my roots or even suggested that I should tone them. They were clearly two shades lighter than the all over color I had in. I guess for the prices, you get what you pay for here. read more

So today I saw Michelle and I loved my whole experience. I went in for a much need cut. I had long hair, down to the bottom on my shoulders, and I really wanted a change. My hair was really damaged and all that hair needed to come off. Michelle made me feel good about cutting it and helped me make a style that wasn't too short but made my hair look long. I am so pleased with my hair. I will be seeing more of her in the future. Aside from Michelle everything was awesome. They use Bumble and Bumble products which I now love. They are so much better than Paul Mitchell and Aveda so it is nice to work with a solon that uses better products. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everything was clean and tidy. More importantly all the girls were very nice and they looked wonderful. Often times, I walk into solons and the girls have cheap and edgy hair cuts that look terrible. All the girl have wonderful natural looking hair which is a great change of pace. I feel like that reflects into their work. I would absolutely recommend this place to people. Especially if you're feeling nervous about a cut or trusting someone new, this is the place to start. Not to mention pricing is very reasonable. Michelle charged $35 for my cut which was under my budget as a struggling college student. read more

I have been going to Glenda, one of the owners, since 2006, and have truly never left the salon with less than gorgeous hair. The salon is always clean, smells amazing and feels inviting. I am always greeted promptly, even if my stylist is busy with another client. Oh, and that's not even saying what a perfect job she does, every single time. Glenda takes time out of her personal life to respond to my questions, concerns, and to get scheduled quickly. Even when I had a terrible bridesmaid hair-do, she counseled me on how to fix it over the phone. My entire family sees her, and the majority of my coworkers now see someone at Plum (I must say, we are a pretty darn good looking dental office!). I was just walking around downtown looking for a place to get a haircut when I came across Plum. Sara had an opening and I only had to wait 10 minutes. She gave a great consultation and didn't start until she fully understood what I was looking for and didn't let me leave until I was happy. I definitely recommend her, and for only $35! read more

I was so excited to go and get my hair colored for the first time in about 5 years! I have naturally dark blonde hair and for the summer wanted to go a warm blonde color all over. My stylist had told me the pros and cons of each technique and I had chosen the one I thought suited my situation the best. After agreeing to a balayage that was going to be warm blonde I was so happy to see the final result. My hairdresser did a wonderful cut on me and I have nothing but good things to say about the haircut. Once it was time to rinse off the bleach she was more aggressive with washing my hair but I brushed that off. She was telling me she was toning in, then after we were done toning she combed my hair with her fingers pulling on my hair throughout my whole head! I was trying not to cry. Then she starts blow drying my hair. I see nothing but my natural color and silver and grey and blueish cool tones. Which I asked for warm sun kissed blonde she said she over toned on purpose but never told me it would be silver. Really sad and spent 200+ read more

Worst experience with Angela; Would never go get my hair done with her again. I had brought my sister and I to get our hair done, she wanted purple hair and I wanted a light balayage on my hair. My sisters hair turned bright pink and as for mine it was completely orange and it looked like a messed up ombré. I had texted her to see if she was willing to fix and she had said yes, but full price. When I asked if I could talk to her she said she was too busy so she'd contact me the next day. Never did. Months later she comes to my job and yells at me in front of customers and calls me unprofessional/pointing fingers to my coworkers saying we're trying to ruin her "reputation" and trash talking about her/business. All because I had gave my opinion to one of her clients (did not know) that I was UNSATISFIED so they played the "she said/he said" game instead of confronting me in person and asking before going that far. read more
