Popped in on a random Monday night for happy hour with the bestie. Started off with the passion fruit margaritas... BESS!!! A definite proper margarita...we then had some wings, tacos and egg rolls all off the happy hour menu... music was good and the bartender was attentive. We also had the Caribbean breezer $19 and cucumber-tini $18 from the regular menu. The Caribbean breezer is a set up' lol it's taste so good but it's strong! The cucumber-tini was good too. The cucumber wasn't overpowering. Food: From the HH menu we had the pineapple jerk wings $8- they were really good but didn't taste like jerk. From the seafood Tuesday menu we had the crab meat stuffed shrimp $18, Cajun seafood boil $40 (all their boils come with crab legs but it doesn't say that on the menu). Both were really delicious and the portion sizes more than worth the prices. The sauce on the shrimp was yummy. I also had the steamed whole snapper $36 from the regular dinner menu. Our bartender/server was very lovely, and friendly. $8 for small bites and their signature cocktail the sugar plum plum was so refreshing and well made. Yesterday I went to Plum restaurant and lounge for my friend's birthday. The atmosphere is nice. The food is nice. I really recommend getting the oxtail. It tasted so good. I loved it so much. The rice taste good the oxtail had a little bit fat on it, which I don't mind cause it was not too much the service. The food came quick kind of everything was good. Genuinely had a great time at their Wednesday karaoke night. Came after 7:30 and the place was relatively empty. There was one group seated and others at the bar. We didn't mind as there was plenty of options for seating and we got a two seater near the dj. The chairs were a plush velvet that were super comfortable and gave you the view of the restaurant. My friend and I ended up singing three songs and the wait wasn't long. The dj wasn't pushy, but encouraged everyone. Now, my waitress Sharlet was super sweet and attentive. She repeatedly checked on us, gave us a free shot for my friend's stellar performance, gave me a free drink when I didn't look super happy with the first one and made a great mocktail for my friend. She really anticipated our needs really well making sure the liquor type was the same as my cocktail. The brown stew snapper was delicious. I ended up saving half for the next day because I couldn't finish the meal. I was invited to a comedy event that they started doing on Thursday night. I arrived around 8p so they were still setting up, but the bar was open. They sat you when your party arrived, so I was at the bar for the meantime, which I did not mind at all. The bar chairs feel a little low for the bar but it didn't stop anything. The bathrooms are clean, and they photo ops every where fpr a cute pic or two. My homegirls came. we sat down and ordered the wings, and plum wings were slamminggggg. By then, I was on my third Rum Punch. I only had appetizers, so I dare not try the entrees. The tacos were extra spicy but not hot in food temperature. Crab cakes had a good taste but the exterior was too charred in my opinion. The slaw that came with the crab cakes was a tasty addition and made it taste better. No Jameson, no seltzer water, and no spring rolls. Go figure. The decor is cute, purple themed of course. There was no DJ, just music playing from a phone I'm sure. Our waiter, didn't get his name was very nice and attentive (main reason for the 3 stars). My friend and were not really in the mood for cocktails so he made us mocktails which were very refreshing. For appetizer we ordered the green plantain (we subbed it for bammie) with ackee and saltfish. It was okay. The bammie was not easy to cut into. For entree (they were only serving brunch) my friend ordered the rib poutini and I had the jerk shrimp with coconut cheese grits. The rib poutini, my friend did not like and honestly did not look appealing at all (see pic). It was some sort of braised ribs on top of French fries, topped with cheese and a tomato. Out of frustration and hunger we decided to just dine at the bar. The ladies at the bar were super cool and accommodating. I didn't like my 1st drink and they agreed to swap it out . I wasn't really in a mood for a full meal so we decided to order a bunch of apps. The conch fritters were delish. Fish tacos were good..The mussels were bomb and flavorful.. The vege spring rolls were okay. My only issue was the seafood soup which is a bit misleading bc it only had fish. I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew it was only fish. It was good but the name needs be to fixed on the menu. Drinks were ok and you can tell which bartenders can really mix. For the food orders, first I'll start with the appetizers: tropical jerk wings , jerk wings calamari taco both fish and chicken although you get 2 tacos there are big, oysters (I didn't have them but my cousin said they were good) basically the appetizers were good! For the entrees we ordered lamb, jerk chicken with rice and peas (the jerk was jerking lol) oxtails, escovitch fish, all was good! Side orders were good as well. I would say the Mac and cheese could use a little bit more seasoning/taste but nonetheless it was good. The ambiance was nice too! It's definitely set up like a restaurant and lounge. Then we ended up waiting 20 minutes for our dessert, which was a cold slice of chocolate cake, mind you the place was pretty much empty. The DJ was a whole vibe! Drinks were great, food was wack. Bang bang shrimp had too much batter, it was super wet on the inside and hard on the outside, no taste. I took all the batter off all the shrimp. Jerk pineapple wings were burnt to a crisp, had to send them back. Onion rings were ok. I had the sampler, they ran out of spring rolls. It took 20 minutes to get a waitress to give us menus, an hour for drinks, and another hour for food, 2 people who were with me never received their food. The bday girl didn't receive her food. Bathrooms were filthy!!! Every 2 hours someone should be cleaning the bathrooms, at least checking to see if it needs cleaning. Bill was $500 & the gratuity said $6.00, y'all need to fix that. Her missing drink came around 10:45. At this point we felt we needed to be compensated with something for terrible service. We didn't see our waitress much throughout the night, she didn't check on us throughout the night and we didn't even know her name. When the bill came we seen there was automatic gratuity added which we understood but we did not agree with the amount they were asking for given the bad service. We asked to speak to the manager and she was no help yet did she do anything to compensate unsatisfied customers. Overall the ambiance Is nice we liked the dimness and lounge feel it gives. We were hoping for a great experience to plan a future birthday brunch. I placed an order of chicken tacos for my kids, they brought out jerk chicken tacos. Unfortunately my 7 year old doesn't do pepper yet. They need to fix their menu for it to say JERK chicken tacos. The waitress also clearly knew the order was for my kids, you would think she would mention it was jerk chicken. They also had no care to fix the issue so we were stuck with DRY jerk chicken tacos. My fish tacos was basically a salad with dry strips of fish. Everything was horrible, along with the fact that they charge $8 for a child Minute Maid lemonade and $8 for a margarita (HH price).
