I noted that they were a plumber that…read morequalified for Yelp's guarantee program, a neat program that I've fortunately never had to use. I did my initial contact outside of business hours. Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

I had a tub drain that was draining slowly and had 24-7 come out, I could tell that this was just a drain stopper clogged up with hair. Steve told me the stopper was seemed stuck and he wouldn't be able to do any work unless I approved the estimate which stated "Clear clog with no drain machine" for $288! I questioned them about the service fee. It does not include any service - They should call it an estimate fee. I had a handyman come out and he took out the stopper and cleaned the hair there. It works great. I wouldn't be disappointed if they just took 10 mins to clean out the hair. Jason L from 24-7 Plumbing stated they waived the $89 fee on his response to my review. But that did not happen. I tried calling to confirm but no one has returned my calls. It's not honest to say something here in this forum and not do it.

I thought long and hard about leaving this review considering the owner seems to be somewhat…read morereactive in his responses, but figured I always use yelp to find the best of the best, and my fellow yelpers deserve to know my experience as well. So here we go. We had a toilet that wasn't filling in our rental. It was Sunday night of all times for this to happen and not something I could hold off until Monday unless my guest didn't use the toilet. So... I checked out yelp to find an emergency plumber in the area. I wasn't sure if it was the shut off valve that was leaking or the fill valve was defective. So, Yes, I could have gone to Home Depot to get the parts which would have totaled about $30 MAX. But, figured I'd get an expert in who could do it quickly. I checked yelp and saw that seriously 24/7 had some pretty good reviews, however several mentions to them being expensive. Like, obscenely expensive. I figured, Aside from the $159 emergency fee, how bad could it really be for parts that cheap? I called and the lady taking my call was pleasant and they got someone out about 1.5 hours later. The cost would be $159 plus any work to be done. The guys who came were friendly enough, and then they hit me with the cost. This is where the I almost fell over. They wanted $587 to replace the fill valve (nothing wrong with the water shut off). Or, they could replace the toilet for me for $1200? Are you actually kidding me? Seriously they were not. Since I already had $159 invested in this, a couple of hours of wait and a renter waiting for me, it didn't make sense for me to then head to Home Depot for my parts on a Sunday night and have it take any more time. For God sakes I could have gotten a whole toilet and a ring and replaced it myself for $150 if I had another hour. Seriously disgusted, I agreed to that price and in 10 minutes my problem was fixed. Oh great, it comes with a year warranty! Awesome, considering I could always replace it for $15 if i needed. (Looked up the exact part at any box store). Glad I have a functioning toilet but don't be like me and think to yourself "how bad can it actually be?"Because it will be worse. I am leaving this relationship feeling violated, but as a consumer you should know this business uses a predatory pricing scheme.

So businesses, like ARS/Rescue Rooter, read Yelp reviews and take them seriously which is how we…read morereceived an email from them stating we should have informed them of our dissatisfaction than they finding out about it online. Fair enough. Duly noted. They wanted a chance to remedy the problems ASAP, and true to their word, they quickly sent two guys to our house to review all the problems we had. The project manager apologized for the mess created for lack of tarps and the sloppy job done by the previous serviceman who has since been terminated for having done same to other homeowners. The two servicemen who came out to review our problems were very nice and thorough, listened to our concerns, tried some cheaper alternatives to fix the problem but agreed with us on the solution which was to install dampers in the vents to regulate and quiet down the airflow. They installed the dampers for no extra charge, and no charge for the travel and labor to do so. They were very neat and tidy, and we couldn't even tell someone had been in our house doing work when we came home. It's always a relief and convenient to have a trusted company perform work in our home without us having to be present, especially for those of us who work all day. To compensate us for the previous drywall mess, they fabricated a custom, metal cover for our insulated vent tunnel free of charge. I can now say I highly recommend ARS/Rescue Rooter to perform service work on my home because I can count on them to care about my Yelp review and remedy any problems I have at lightning speed to my utmost satisfaction. They are also a stand-up company in that they were quick to apologize and accept responsibility for their employee without making any excuses. With more free work and free material from them, I don't think I could have done better price-wise, if I bought and installed the furnace, ducts and vents myself.

At no point was I contacted by management, despite repeated assurances that a manager would follow up. I also made multiple attempts to contact the company by phone and email and received no response. Their reply below also references figures that are incorrect and do not align with the actual invoices or work performed, or the numbers I was told by their plumbers. I'm posting this update because the public response misrepresents what occurred. I remain open to a direct, professional resolution if the company chooses to engage. This is especially concerning in emergency plumbing situations, where customers are vulnerable due to time pressure, limited alternatives, and a heavy reliance on the company's honesty and accountability. Original Review: I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was so costly and misleading that I feel a responsibility to warn others. I hired them for a sewer blockage. They immediately diagnosed the issue as a cracked pipe outside the house, quoted me nearly $3,500, and replaced a short section of exterior line. They told me the problem was fully resolved and even claimed their camera inspection confirmed it. Within hours, the line clogged again. When I reached back out, they did not honor their warranty. The plumber left my messages on read and when I told him I'd reach out higher up he then returned my call finally. Instead of re-diagnosing the actual problem, they kept suggesting new "band-aid" fixes and charging for each visit. Their technician then recommended an additional $3,300 repair -- meaning they wanted almost $7,000 total, and none of it addressed the real issue. The worst part is that when I told the technician the repair didn't work, he simply stopped responding and left me on read. No follow-up, no accountability, nothing unless I "called the office" and told them I wanted the additional $3,300 repair. Finally, I called an independent plumber. He immediately found the actual blockage inside the house, under the slab -- the same area Benjamin's claimed to have inspected with their camera. This independent plumber fixed the problem correctly for about $1,200 with jetting(keep in mind the plumber was also trying to upsell jetting to me for $2500), which is roughly one-fifth of what Benjamin's was trying to charge for their second repair alone. In my experience, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing misdiagnosed the problem, sold me an expensive repair that didn't fix anything, ignored me when I reported that it failed, and continued pushing unnecessary upsells rather than standing behind their work. Their warranty wasn't honored and their customer service ended as soon as they collected payment. If you're considering them, get multiple opinions first. This company cost me thousands of dollars and never actually fixed the problem.
