We were very pleased with Ulises service. He was super thorough and knowledgeable. He did a great job making sure the unit worked after the cleaning as well. We will definitely use them again for future maintenance.

If there's one word to describe our experience with Ulises, it has been; unreliable. To give some context, I recently moved into a new condo with my wife and 10-month old daughter. Turns out that the previous owner was an indoor smoker, so we inherited that problem to deal with. At the referral of a contractor that we knew, we reached out to Ulises in order to get some advice. After speaking, he recommended we work with someone to roto-brush and vacuum the vents, after which we would call Ulises to deep clean the furnace & blower motor and hopefully get rid of the smell once and for all. After taking his advice and working with another company to vacuum the vents, we reached out to Ulises on June 2. We called him several times in the next few days, leaving messages but never receiving a callback. When we do finally get connected to him over the phone, he tells us that he will have his assistant call us later that same day to schedule an appointment, with no call ever coming. We wait two days to reach back out, trying to schedule anything while we have him on the line. Finally we get in touch with the assistant to schedule for June 11, to which on the day of, Ulises cancels, saying that his machine broke just before heading over. He told us he would order the parts needed and get back to us the next day, only for us to not receive a call back again. We reach out by text on June 13, when he says that he is hopeful he will have the machine to do the job the next day and that he will reach out again. See the texts that I've attached to this post. We never received a text or call back, and any calls we make to him, never receive any response. What makes me so mad about this whole situation is that we already discussed the job. If the pay wasn't enough, you could've let me know. Why would a business owner lead a customer on like this? And if you're truly that busy that you can't communicate with potential customers, why not tell me you are no longer interested in the job? It's frustrating to see that others have had this issue as well.

To save on heating costs, I hadn't used my furnace in several years (usually just wear layers of…read moreclothing to keep me warm when it's cold). This past winter was SO COLD, I finally decided to turn my furnace on, but nothing happened. I have a home warranty, so I called them & they put me in touch with Kool-Air Heating & Cooling. It was the night before Christmas Eve, so Salwan (Kool-Air company owner) & his son, Ali, came out the day after Christmas. My furnace is located at the back of my garage on a narrow platform ~9' above the garage floor; it's not easy to get to and there's only minimal space in which to work, with cross beams and rafters intersecting the area. It turns out my furnace was so old (original with ~50 y.o. house), several components had failed & the entire system needed replacing, which required approval from my home warranty company. Initially, my home warranty company denied my furnace replacement, saying it was too old (that's a whole other story). Over the following 5 weeks, Salwan continued to call the home warranty company on my behalf and eventually obtained approval to proceed. They purchased a new Lennox unit (which a neighbor who installs HVAC systems told me was a "really good furnace") and got to work. Because of the small work space, Ali did the bulk of the work, disconnecting & removing the old furnace and installing the new furnace. My house and the original system were so old that the vent and vent connectors did not fit with current standard components, so Salwan and Ali had to custom-make the fittings. For that reason, as well as the difficulty of working on the small platform intersected by beams and rafters, plus the heat (on an unusually warm day for this past winter), after nearly 7 hours, installation of the new furnace was not yet complete. Thus, Ali returned the following morning, working all day to finish installation and insulation of the furnace, thoroughly cleaning the area (including the complete platform) and the garage floor w/a vacuum, then installing and setting up a new digital thermostat. I love my new furnace. Fortunately, the weather has warmed up so I'm not using it right now, but I know that it's there in perfect working condition the next time I need it. Kool-Air Heating & Cooling is an excellent company. Being family-owned aloiws them the ability to offer customized/personalized service of the highest quality. Salwan and Ali are both extremely competent [Ali told me his dad has owned his own HVAC company both in their home country and here for (if I recall correctly) ~40 years, and that he has been working with his dad full-time for (I believe) ~8 yrs], thorough, and professional. Salwan is an honest and trustworthy businessman. My cost on top of what the home warranty covered was half of what I was expecting! Ali is reliable, pleasant (depite the heat and difficult working conditions), and persistent (kept working when he ran into trouble setting up the digital thermostat). My garage was left cleaner than when they began working. Equally important to their competence, both Salwan and Ali are very nice, and I felt completely comfortable and safe with them. I can not sing Salwan and Ali's praises enough! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kool-Air Heating & Cooling company to anyone who wants their HVAC job done right at a reasonable price by truly good people!!

Michael stood out immediately for his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and genuine commitment to customer service. He drove from Chula Vista to Carlsbad to inspect our HVAC system and took the time to carefully access and inspect the difficult-to-reach evaporator coil and blower motor. After doing so, he honestly told me that **neither needed to be cleaned**. He could have easily performed the work we had scheduled and charged me, but instead he recommended that it was unnecessary. I even offered to pay him for his time and long drive, and he refused. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about our older HVAC system and caught an issue with advice we had received from another company that could potentially have damaged our exterior unit. He clearly knows his craft and, more importantly, puts the customer's interests first. Michael told me he wants to bring genuine customer service back to the industry, and he absolutely demonstrated that. His integrity isn't just something he says--he proved it by choosing not to sell me unnecessary work. I've already referred him to my family and will absolutely use Della-Mora for future HVAC needs. If you want an honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely customer-focused HVAC company, I highly recommend Michael and Della-Mora.

The amazing part is that he did not charge me for his time. It's so refreshing to find a company you can trust to tell you the truth and not just charge for things you don't need. I would recommend this company 100%.
