I don't write many reviews, but Michael and the entire Della-Mora team absolutely deserve this one. Throughout our extensive home renovation, I've dealt with dozens of contractors across many specialties. Michael stood out immediately for his honesty, integrity, knowledge, and genuine commitment to customer service. He drove from Chula Vista to Carlsbad to inspect our HVAC system and took the time to carefully access and inspect the difficult-to-reach evaporator coil and blower motor. After doing so, he honestly told me that **neither needed to be cleaned**. He could have easily performed the work we had scheduled and charged me, but instead he recommended that it was unnecessary. I even offered to pay him for his time and long drive, and he refused. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about our older HVAC system and caught an issue with advice we had received from another company that could potentially have damaged our exterior unit. He clearly knows his craft and, more importantly, puts the customer's interests first. Michael told me he wants to bring genuine customer service back to the industry, and he absolutely demonstrated that. Michael was in our neighborhood working on our neighbors AC. As i dove by i approached him after he finished with the neighbor's house if he could drop by and give us a free estimate to service our AC since it was an older unit that was on the fritz no longer pumping cold air. He said sure! He came by inspected the unit i turned it on he quickly found and resolved the issue it was a breaker issue, he later said that the R-22 was sufficient enough and educated us on how older AC functioned Michael was highly knowledgeable, friendly, polite and professional. This is a company operated with integrity and expertise. This was my experience and although we are not utilizing their services I recommend Michael and this team confidently. Michael from Della-Mora is the nicest guy. I sent a message on a Saturday and he called me back in about 5 minutes. I explained to him that SDG&E shut my air off saying I needed my Ducts cleaned before it was safe to run. He came out on Tuesday looked at the ducts and assured me that it was safe and turn my AC back on. He even looked at a couple other items I was concerned about and advised me what to do. The amazing part is that he did not charge me for his time. It's so refreshing to find a company you can trust to tell you the truth and not just charge for things you don't need. So a little background: my 83 year old mom has his radiant heater system that she loves. Finding someone who has the knowledge to fix the boiler system has always been a challenge. Most of the companies don't know how to repair the system. Michael knew exactly what went wrong with the system and he knew the challenges of finding the right parts to get the system running. My A/C went out in the heat wave. I called a couple of companies in the area and got no responce including from the orignal contractor. Mike came in after a shady HVAC repair company came in and sabotaged our A/C and tried to upsell us for $12K after we called them simply for a leak. Michael is great! He is very knowledgeable and extremely talented. He came out to provide a quote to repair the heater that is part of my heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. I mentioned to him that in addition to the repair, I was interested in switching the gas system to an electric unit. He did an inspection and provided a quote. As he begun the work and started removing the old and damaged system he noticed that the home builder had cut corners and made mistakes. As the job progressed it became clear that it was a larger project than expected due to shoddy original work including some components that were mis-matched. I stated that I was comfortable with a change order and revised estimate because there was no way either of us could have known the extent of remediation that had to occur. Michael stated that he never increases his price after an estimate. He is refreshingly straightforward and honest. I provided a tip, and even now feel like I got a great deal from him. Further, he saved me money by reducing the size of the unit we were going to use after determining we could go with a slightly smaller unit which would still effectively heat/cool the home. This not only saved me money in the installation but will also reduce my electricity consumption and bill. Finally, he's a good guy. My dog, who I love, can be a yappy monster when people come and go that she does not know. She calms down once she sniffs the person. Every time Michael came and went through the room he would stop and let her sniff his hand, even when he was carrying items. This was a great experience and a great value.
