Do not hire unless you want a contractor who will threaten your safety, harass your family, and launch a profanity-laced tirade over an honest mistake. I hired Plumbing Drain & Tile Master for a $350 job. The initial check bounced due to a banking error. I completely understand the frustration of a failed payment, but the owner's response was flat-out dangerous. Within hours of the check failing, he flooded my phone with hostile, aggressive, and abusive texts. He explicitly threatened to come to my house, stand on my porch, call the police, and baselessly accuse me of intentional fraud. He even went so far as to contact my family members to intimidate me. I immediately responded to fix the issue, agreed to mail a replacement check, and voluntarily added an extra $50 to completely cover his bank's returned check fee. Even after I sent proof that the $400 check was picked up by the mail carrier, the unhinged insults and swearing continued because he couldn't grasp his own bank's deposit verification. Once the $400 officially cleared his account, he suddenly flipped a switch and texted an apology for "giving me a hard time." An apology doesn't erase erratic, threatening behavior. It is terrifying that someone who knows where I live thinks it is acceptable to intimidate and threaten clients. The work might be done, but this business is a massive satety liability. I first called to have my toilet flange extended, and then again to have two bathtubs replaced. In addition to replacing my bathtubs, which were VERY old (circa 1958), Stephen et al fixed the drainage issues in my bathrooms. The drains under my toilet and tub were badly deteriorated. I didn't originally plan to have the toilet drain replaced, but Stephen thought it would be a good idea because some of the original piping was lead. He was right. There were huge holes in all the old pipes. Now I have two nice new tubs and I feel much safer about the drains in my bathrooms. So glad that I called Steve! Our shower began suddenly leaking through the ceiling into the bedroom below, causing me to have a panic attack and assume there was a busted pipe or worse. I called Steve fairly late at night, but he answered immediately and helped problem solve possible culprits over the phone, which eased my nerves. He then came over first thing the next morning and immediately identified the issue (faulty connection to our handheld shower) and had completely fixed the issue within an hour. While this plumber communicated with me regularly and completed the work discussed in a timely fashion and so far the tub replacement seems to be adequate I have never been spoken to so disrespectfully and violently as a paying costumer. This plumber of 30 years came recommended to me from my home inspector who was excellent so I went with word of mouth. I had to renovate a bathroom in a newly purchased home I needed a new tub, gold colored faucet trim etc and non tile walls. I asked this plumber for his help in direction of this project as I had never renovated a bathroom before. The items I picked out he discussed in a dooms day tone as if they were bad choices or he wasn't happy I didn't need him to fully tile the bathroom, he told me this part would not work, that color might not work, he's never even done vinyl walls so my guy better know what he's doing. I asked him to please offer me direction and recommendations as I've never done a bathroom before. He said go to Delta's website tell me what you order and I'll tell you if it works....My friend demo'd the shower walls for me so the plumber could put the tub in. He demanded the vinyl walls go up along with dry wall and spackling. We exchanged pictures of the work to ensure he could do his part and my friend could do his along the way. After paying him $2940 for tub removal and replacement and drain installation, and after I painted two coats of fresh paint on the walls the plumber comes back to install the shower head only to find out that the pipe was rotted and he had to cut the newly painted walls to replace the pipe etc. I don't understand why the rotted pipe couldn't have been discovered before the walls were patched and painted. The plumber insisted he didn't cause the problem (I assured him I wasn't acusing him or causing a problem just trying to understand the issue) and that's the process to get it done, I was surprised to be charged $300 for that work that took him under an hour to complete and we only agreed on half the price up front. I work overnight as an ICU nurse and sleep during the day. After not hearing from me to collect payment less than 24 hours later (bc I was asleep after working overnight) he accused me of ripping him off and threatened to call the police and place a contractor lien on my house...for $300 worth of work. When I spoke to him on the phone he was extremely volatile, hostile, defensive, aggressive and threatening. He threatened to go back to my house and rip out his work. I never said I wasn't going to pay him I wanted to have a candid discussion about the price that was not discussed prior to work being completed and why a rotted pipe was found after the fact. After multiple screaming matches on the phone (I kid you not) I paid him to keep him quiet as I have never felt so disrespected and offended in my life as a paying costumer. He brought me to tears. I was trying to trust a recommended professional to help with a project I knew nothing about and am left scared hurt and with a bad taste in my mouth. I called this plumbing company to clean my main sewer line, due to tree roots causing a blockage . Another plumber told me I had to replace my entire sewer line for $15,500, and could not open it, Steve came out and recommended I high velocity jetting the sewer line and also snake the drain with the cutter. He also camera the line and when that was completed it looks brand new inside the sewer line . he said that I would have to clean it every 1 to 3 years The cost was about $950 including jetting, drain cleaning and checked with a camera. read more

Steve was amazing! I woke up to my water heater leaking and I called him immediately at 7:30am. He answered and was over at my house within a few short hours. He was very responsive! I called at least 10 plumbers on the night of July 3rd as my main drain got clogged and my basement flooded during a rainstorm. I could tell immediately from my conversation with Stephen that he knew what he was talking about, that he could get to the root of the issue, and that he was transparent about pricing. Some plumbers wanted to charge me a flat rate for unnecessary extra work, and he was very frank about how if he could diagnose the issue a certain way, it would be solved very quickly and less expensively. Most plumbers wanted to charge a high flat rate for a drain cleaning, without any real diagnosis of the issue. He gave me an honest price range, explaining what it would cost at the low end and at the high end, and he stayed true to that. In fact, by the time I opened the door after he knocked, he had already discovered that the clog was in the street and the problem would be an easy, cheap, and quick fix. He walked me through what he was doing, and the clog was fixed almost instantly. I ended up saving a significant amount of money and time. He was also very courteous and responsive.
